《DIEGO'S INNOCENCE》CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR

DIEGO'S POV.

"I don't have the whole day," I murmur with anger in my voice. My eyes looking ahead of me, right at the bleeding man, whose name is Bobby.

"I don't want to waste my time on you; I can give you a less painful death, if only you tell me those that are responsible for the death of Bianca," I say through clenched teeth, pulling on the hair of Bobby.

But like the idiot he is, he ends up laughing, spitting on my face in the process.

"Fuck off,", He replies, coughing up blood.

I wipe my face with my free hand, growing angrier with each passing second, which is annoying.

I push Bobby away from me, watching as he falls on his injured knees, knees that I injured minutes ago.

I have removed Bobby's nails, punched him in the face, and done some other damages to him using some machines.

Bobby has fainted five times, and I have managed to bring him back to consciousness everytime. I can tell that his body is exhausted, but so is mine.

My mind is playing tricks on me. I am feeling guilty for what I have done, but I will continue with my actions. The guilt may or may not disappear, and I do not care.

I will have to let go of the guilt if I want to survive. This is the life I chose, and fear and guilt are not welcome. I am not called Don for nothing.

I never expected to turn out like this when I was younger. I never even thought I would hold a gun to shoot someone.

But life changes, and so do circumstances.

When my mentor and father figure, Mr Brown, died, he left me in charge of not only the gang, but also his mafia.

I never knew that the gang was a mafia. When I joined his gang, he made sure that he trained me on his own.

Mr Brown took me with him to meet investors, for business meetings, and all activities that involved the mafia.

I remember how he was harsh, and patient with me. The man made sure he taught me what I needed to know, and he taught me about survivor.

I was scared on my first mission, and he knew, but he encouraged me to fight till the end.

"The world we live in is too dangerous. Being weak, and fearful won't take you anywhere. Learn to fight your battles, and always be prepared, even when you are scared. Your battles will never end, they will go on for the rest of your life. And you will have to choose if you want to be fearful and hide, or if you want to hide your fear while fighting.... The battles will have different results; hiding with your fear will keep you protected for a while, but you will have to know that the things or people you are fearful of will be back. And fighting while hiding your fear will help you survive. An animal can smell his or her prey's fear, and know that it will attack because of your fear. Use your fear to build yourself, or use your fear to destroy yourself: it's all in your hands."

Mr Brown used to teach me a lot about survivor. He prepared me for wars, hoping for me to take over. And I did, even though I was locked up, I looked after everything.

But I never kill those that do not deserve it. I can never harm children, animals, or any adult that has not done me wrong.

Bobby did me wrong, and I hoped that we would talk. But the guy has pride, and stubbornness.

Bobby was a good boy in everyone's eyes when we were younger, but the guy lived a double life. He lied to my parents about me, and he made sure I was punished. I always saw him hiding behind the small window when I was beaten, but I always chose to forgive him.

But today is a different day, and I am no longer the naive, stupid boy he once knew.

The world changed me into an emotionless person. My heart fails to forgive people easily, because I know that half of them mean evil.

"You know that I can stop this right now, right?" I ask, grabbing my favorite toy, my hammer.

Bobby remains silent as I walk towards him, his eyes are set on me, making me chuckle. The art that I have created on his body will be with him for the rest of his miserable, short life.

"You keeping quiet is just tempting me," I say, watching the fear that is in Bobby's eyes. But his mouth is not opening to tell me anything that will help me with my case.

Bobby is shivering as I stand in front of him with the hammer, my eyes looking at his legs.

"You have strong legs... I remember how much you loved soccer, and I know that me hurting your legs will bring you a lot of sadness," Gasps are being heard in the room, when the words leave my mouth.

Hunter, and the two guards are present in the room, and so are three other guards.

Everyone took turns with hitting Bobby. But he would laugh, turning to me, with mockery.

"You're a pathetic, broken ass. You can't even hit me like a man; you are busy watching in the background. They call you Don, but you are nothing but a pussy."

The words he said made me step in, hitting him and beating him up as well. I did use some machines on him, and I do not regret the work I have done.

I raise the hammer up, pausing with a smirk on my face when he fearfully looks at me, tears dropping from his eyes.

"You know what?" I look into his eyes, smirking when I see the fear. "I will count to three, and I will let you mention names of those responsible for what happened. But if you don't, then say goodbye to your precious babies," I make a sad face, chuckling when I see the tears in Bobby's eyes.

I lift the hammer in the air, watching the look of disbelief in Bobby's eyes. He did want me to intervene in the torture, and I have. But the guy looks so ungrateful, pathetic.

"Let's start," I mutter, lifting the hammer in the air, again. "One.... Two....Thr-"

"Wait!" Bobby cries out. "It was Anna, and Ken. Please don't hurt me; I can't hide their sins anymore,"

Anna and Ken are the birth givers, and even though I knew that they were involved, I still did not want to believe it.

"Who else was involved?" I ask after clearing my throat, not wanting to seem affected by what I have heard.

"Some other gangs were involved, but I do not know their names. Anna, and Ken know the gangs, though. Please believe me." Bobby rambles with no hesitation.

I nod at him, throwing the hammer away, and nodding at the guards.

Four of them come forward, removing the chains that hold Bobby together. The guards carry him to a room that separates us all by a glass. They clench his hands, and legs to the chair that is holding his very weak body, and fasten his head into the helmet.

All four of the guards step out of the small room after they are done, walking towards the power machine.

"Do it!" I command, turning towards the exit door, with Hunter behind me.

I walk out of the torture room, with Bobby's screams in the background. The electric chair will finish him off for me.

Anna and Ken's screams will be next.
