《DIEGO'S INNOCENCE》CHAPTER FORTY

Everyone is told that first impressions are important, but we are not always told that first impressions are sometimes misleading.

The face that someone shows you on the first meeting is usually a facade, a show to lure you in. A person will show you an impression that they want you to see, and they will make sure they hide their true character from you.

Get to know the person's true character, and I promise that you will be shocked.

Just like I am with Bobby.

The smile I saw on Bobby's face when I went to the supreme jail was welcoming, it made me feel at ease. I remember thinking that he was very kind when he told me about Diego. I thought that the man was looking out for a brother. I thought that he was been protective of Diego, and I thought that Diego was safe with him.

But then Hunter told me the truth, he told me about how Bobby ranted them out most times during their childhood. Hunter told me about how Bobby wanted to sabotage Diego, not once, not twice, but more times than I could count on my fingers.

I am a fool, a big fool. I can not believe I fell for his trap. I wonder how I will be a lawyer with all this silliness and foolishness. I cannot even talk to strangers, I am shit when it comes to communicate. And I can not believe how I can easily be deceived. I seriously thought I learnt a lesson with Eric, but damn was I wrong.

But I can not blame myself. Bobby seemed like a good guy, he looked like someone that liked Diego, he seemed like he just wanted the best for Diego.

Not everyone that wears a police uniform is to be trusted.

I guess I forget that cops are usually the ones that kill my fellow blacks. I need to work on my trust issues, I have to stop trusting everyone I meet.

"What do you mean Bianca's baby daddy?" I hear Diego ask, his voice sounding angry. I pout my lips waiting for the commotion that is going to happen in minutes.

I made sure I sat opposite from the door, far from where Bobby is, I guess it was my instinct.

I know that I throw punches, but I also know that this is Diego's fight, not mine. I will cheer if I need to, and I will intervene if I am required to. But for now, I need to mind my business.

I was not born in a classy, luxurious home. I saw that not everyone shouts fancy insults at people that offend them. I was taught to fight for my life. But I was also told to forgive people, and I make sure I do what I was taught, unless the person keeps doing shit to me, that is usually when I become violent.

And I can tell that nothing will come out of this meeting. Hunter looks like he is not interested in what is about to happen, Bobby looks like he cannot breath while Diego looks angry, his hands clenched into fists.

"You know what I mean by baby daddy... Bobby and you shared one woman, but Bobby got her before you did. And it also looks like the two played you because there the two met up with each other when you weren't around. I managed to get the camera recordings from your previous house as well, the two were usually in your bedroom when you weren't around. There weren't any cameras in the room, but the cameras in the hallway show that Bobby and Bianca spent a lot of time in your room. I can show you the pictures and videos of Bobby and Bianca together,"

The look of betrayer that is on Diego's face is noticeable, and Bobby looking nervous while his body shivers is also very noticeable.

"You are telling me that this bitch went into my room!" Diego yells out in anger, his voice sounding disgusted, the betrayer that his face once showed long gone.

I actually thought he would cry or shout about how Bianca cheated on him. But it seemes like Diego is worried more about the germs that Bobby and Bianca might have left.

"Yes... and it's possible that Bobby here, was the father of the pregnancy that Bianca had," Hunter says taking a cigarette out of his pocket, he gets a lighter from the table, pausing when he is about to light the cigarette.

"Do you mind?" He asks lifting the cigarette in the air, to which I shake my head negativity. The three men had their heads turned to me and I do not want to be the center of attention, so why not give the man his freedom.

Hunter lights up the cigarette, but my focus is on Diego who is now infront of Bobby.

Diego lifts Bobby in the air, which is easy, considering the height difference and weight difference as well.

"Why did you do it? Were you two trying to play me?" Diego asks with his jaw clenched, I fear for Bobby's wellbeing right now.

Bobby coughs out in pain, which is worrying. But I become confused when I see him laughing. I can see that Hunter did not expect the reaction, by the way he leans forward, the cigarette inbetween his fingers.

"Why the fuck are you laughing?" Hunter asks, throwing the cigarette in the ashtray. He did not even finish it, a habit that he has.

Hunter has smoked infront of me before, but he told me that he does not smoke frequently. And he also said that he does not go halfway with the cigarette, he just smokes for a second or two, throwing the remaining poison away. And I can tell that he was telling the truth now.

"You really think Bianca loved this fool?" Bobby laughs, his laughing is followed by coughs. "The bitch used you... I told her to get to you, and she did. She made you fall in love with her, and I am thankful that she did... I got to get some cash out of you as well." Bobby says looking into Diego's eyes.

A sound comes from Bobby when he is punched by Diego. Diego throws Bobby to the side afterwards, and I can tell that it hurts by the way he lands. But it seems like Bobby wants to frustrate Diego, because the man continues to laugh.

"Bianca and I laughed about how stupid you were, you were a fool and you will continue to be one... But what do I expect from a person that lacks love.... Your own parents abandoned you, they made sure they told everyone about how disgraceful you are.... But I can't blame them; you are a total disappoinment... A weak bitch that is unwanted by death as well," Bobby is kicked at the side of the stomach by Diego.

Diego knees on the ground, punching, slapping and cursing Bobby out. But Bobby continues to laugh, which is very annoying.

Hunter decides to intervene when he sees that Bobby is about to faint. He walks towards Diego, pulling him away from Bobby with alot of difficulty.

"Relax," Hunter repeats at Diego, pulling him away from Bobby, who is barely breathing.

Diego moves to his wine cabinet, as Hunter calls out to the guards. The guards come into the room in less than two minutes, and Hunter commands them to take Bobby away to a dungeon.

Bobby is carried away harshly, his face badly swollen. There is blood on his face, his eyes barely open.

"You will die alone, bitch," Bobby shouts as the guards reach the door. I wonder why he has not fainted yet.

"I am glad that those that were suppose to protect you are the ones that hurt you! I hope you die on your next try!" Bobby's voice disappears and the room is left in silence, like nothing just occured. I would think I was imagining everything that happened if there was no blood on the floor.

Hunter is making a call to someone on the phone, while Diego drinks his whiskey. I stand from the sofa, my legs and bum feeling stiff from sitting too long.

I bounce on my toes, clearing my throat as both men turn to look at me.

"I will show myself out," I murmur under my breath, walking towards the door.

I will be back later on to discuss what to do next, but right now I need to let Diego cool off.

I have learnt to not anger Diego today, and I will hopefully behave when I am in his presence. Hopefully.
