《Mr Reigns》Chapter 5: Reputation

The ride was quick. When I got home, I got out of the car, leaving my bag in the car. I had my keys in my hand. I heard steps behind me, making me stop. I rolled my eyes when I realized that Ace was following me.
"Your house is over there" I motioned to the huge house next to mine. He smiled sheepishly then batted his eyes lashes.
"There's no one home" he said, giving me the puppy eyes. I huffed. He looked so cute. I groaned and didn't say anything. I walked in my house. I knew that my mother has taken her day off from work.
"Mom!" I called out.
"In the living room!" I heard her say. I waited for Ace and once he joined me, I started making me way to the living room.
"Did you see the rumors?" I asked, sounding quite pissed. When I walked in the living room, I stopped right away as my eyes fell on one person. And it was definitely not my mother.
Kale Reigns was sitting on my favorite couch in my living room.
"Yes. We did" Stella answered. My eyes drifted from Kale to Stella who was sitting next to my mother. Before I could say something, I felt someone crash in my back, making me turn to glare at them. Ace smiled sheepishly again. He was most probably texting away in his phone and wasn't looking where he was walking.
"I'm sorry" Ace whispered and turned to greet everyone. "Hello" he said, giving everyone his bright smile.
"This is Ace,our neighbor's son" my mom said as the latter awkwardly waved.
"This is Stella and her nephew, Kale" I told Ace nonchalantly. Ace poked my back, making me yelp.
"The rich and sexy bachelor?" he asked, loud enough for everyone to hear. I face palmed myself. Why were my friends so stupid? I still loved them though. Kale rose one of his perfect eyebrows in confusion.

"I'm sorry. That's how my best friend, Ella described you" I quickly said. My mom nodded in comprehension as she knew Ella. Ace frowned and shook his head.
"No, you did" he said. I clenched my jaws and turned to glare at him.
"Go home" I ordered.
"Kayra!" Mom scolded. "That's rude" she said as she gave me a disapproving glance, making Ace smirk.
"He's rude!" I corrected.
"You're twenty two, For God's sake! Behave like it" mom huffed and motioned Ace and I to sit. I sat down, still glaring at Ace. Kale was still staring at me. Unsurprisingly, there was an emotionless expression on his face. I turned to look at my mom.
"We need to clear all these rumors" I told her. She turned to look at Stella. It was as if they were communicating telepathically. There was something going on and by the look on my mother's face, I knew that I was not going to like it. "What is it?" I asked sternly, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Well" my mother started, not really knowing how to start.
"This rumor seems to brighten Kale's reputation" Stella told me, sounding quite reluctant to tell me.
"And what does it have to do with me?" I asked, my eyes moving to Kale.
"Kale Reigns, getting married to Kayra Jensen, the only daughter of Kathy Jensen" Stella said, very formally. "Despite the fame of your mother, you grew into a nice and generous woman" she said, making my eyes grow wide in surprise. "Your good reputation, will clean his" She continued. This time, my stares turned into glares. They wanted me to keep this act of getting marriage going so that Kale Reigns' reputation become clean.
"And you agree to this?" I asked my mom who simply shrugged.

"I thought about it and it seems like there's only positive side to this" she said. "Our deals with other clients will strengthen as they will think that we will potentially merge with the Reigns corporation" my mom explained. I clenched my jaws.
"I don't want to talk to the CEO of the Jensen company right now. I want to talk to my mother" I said, anger seeping in my words. Ace put his hand on my back, rubbing it slowly, trying to calm me down.
"Sweetheart, it all depends on you. If you agree, then we'll keep it going. If not, you just tell us" my mother said softly.
"Think about it" Stella said. "It's beneficial to both of us" she said quickly.
"And why is his reputation so important?" I questioned. Kale had his eyes fixed on me. He seemed perplexed to why I was asking this question.
"It simply is" he responded with his Sexy voice. This is how the admiration that I had for him shoot up. I have to admit that he still intrigued me. He was a sort of mystery. A sexy mystery.
"Then why did you ruined it?" I asked. This time, his eyes widened in surprise.
"Kayra" my mom scolded me again.
"What?" I questioned, turning to look at her. "I asked the question that most of you were dying to ask" I said, then shrugged.
"It's disrespectful" mom said while shaking her head.
"And ask someone to fake something is not?" i asked. "Lying to the public is not?" I asked again. Stella gulped. They all knew that I was right. I was right. But I was being mean. "I'm sorry" I said.
"Kayra, just think about it. There's nothing wrong with it" Ace said from behind me. I took a deep breath and nodded.
"I'll think about it" I mumbled.
"That's all we needed to hear " Stella said with a huge smile on her face. Kale was watching me intently. As soon as they were gone, I was so going to stalk him. I needed to know how bad his reputation was. I was pretty sure that he was the type of type to sleep around.
Ah. A Fuckboy , maybe?
