Chapter 84 - Don't Waste Your Time On Something So Pointless (2)

Cheng Huan chuckled lightly and there were only too much dotingness in his eyes. “What? Are you turning me down again?”

Cheng Huan turned to look at Jiang NingNing, sitting next to Chi Ying and smiled at her. “Hey there, beautiful, why don’t you trade your seat with me, hmm?”

Jiang NingNing shivered and her palm was sweating from nervousness. Even though Cheng Huan was smiling as he talked, but his smiled made her feel dangerous.

Jiang NingNing felt her legs weakening. She was hesitant and not sure what to do.

Her hesitation displeased Cheng Huan. His look became cold and along with a hint of viciousness.

Jiang NingNing’s mind went blank and she looked at Chi Ying at loss.

Chi Ying put her arm over her and looked up at Cheng Huan. “There’s no room for you next to me. There’s no room for you at the host seat either. You are not welcomed here. Please go.”

“Chi Ying…” Gu YuanChen called out to her, a little bit irritated.

Everyone knew about Cheng Huan’s ways and that included Gu YuanChen. She should just ignore him. Provoking him was never a good idea. He needed to remind her of that.

Unexpectedly, Cheng Huan did not get upset. Contrarily, he lips curved upward. He told the server to bring over a chair and magnanimously sat behind and between Chi Ying and Jiang NingNing. He couldn’t have been more tolerant.

Jiang NingNing, ”……”

She tilted her head a little and was immediately intimidated by Cheng Huan’s look.

Shoot that was scary. The invasive look on Cheng Huan has fire in them and his eyes were glued onto Chi Ying. Being liked by Cheng Huan wasn’t romantic or lucky at all. It was terrifying!

Jiang NingNing was scared. She turned her head stiffly and looked over at Chi Ying for support. She had never sat more properly in her entire life. She felt that if her back wasn’t straight enough, she’d be burn to ashes by Cheng Huan’s gaze.

Chi Ying never thought that Cheng Huan would just leave. She said to Jiang NingNing in a low voice. “He asked for that himself. Just ignore him.”

Jiang NingNing noticed that Chi Ying was still somewhat calm and found that incredulous. She nodded doubtfully.

Gu YuanChen looked even more unhappy that he was before. He stood up and offered his spot to Cheng Huan.

“No need,” said Cheng Huan with his arms crossed in front of him, his eyes narrowed and his tone indolent. “I am happy right here.”

Gazing at the silhouette in front and to the right of him, he said casually, “The view is good here.”

Nobody dared say anything else anymore. The private room was so quiet that one would be able to hear a pin dropped. The chandelier was still bright and the light coming from it looked frozen.

With the exception of Qi Yuan, who had seen a lot in his days, and was still somewhat calm and Director Gu, with his face stone cold and expressionless, there were shock and confusion in the eyes of all of the others. Their looks were stiff; they felt awkward and had no idea how they should behave.

Even more ridiculous was that with all the food laying quietly in the middle of the luxurious round table, nobody dared to touch them.

A pause button seemed to have been pushed and only Cheng Huan sat there sleazily with his legs crossed. His temperament did not match that of the dark suit that he had on.

Chi Ying was just going to ignore him and let him sit there by himself, but now she was infuriated.

This was just going to be a simple dinner; an opportunity for the production team to get to know each other better. If there was any different about this particular dinner, that would be the presence of the film emperor. Everybody in the production team had been running around all day long and finally got a chance to rest. And some of them valued the opportunity to have dinner with Qi Yuan, including Jiang NingNing…

She hadn’t known her for very long, but Chi Ying could sense how much Jiang NingNing was fond of Qi Yuan. Being close to him was her motivation and kept her going in the entertainment circle. Yet Jiang NingNing hasn’t had a chance to toast Qi Yuan or say a word to him before Cheng Huan interrupted their banquet rudely.
