Chapter 70 - Chi Cheng Found a Magazine (1)
The kindergarten has no homework but sometimes the children would receive interesting assignments for their art or craft classes.
Chi Ying had converted one of the rooms upstairs as the graffiti room. There was easel, a working table, and an electric ceramic machine. Posted n the walls were pictures of all sorts of little animals.
Chi Cheng was working on his craft intensively and, when he was about to finish what he was working on, he had used up all of the double-sided tape next to him.
He frowned and wondered what he could do about it. Then he recalled that Chi Ying had bought him a new roll and it was inside of the study.
Chi Cheng didn’t hesitate before he ran downstairs on his little feet and started searching for it in the large study.
Finally, he opened up a drawer on the desk and pulled out a magazine. The pages inside the magazine were already showing their ages but the cover was still very pristine.
Chi Cheng did not recognize the characters on the cover of the book but he was very curious about the man on the cover. He wiped off the dust on the cover with his little hand and the outline of the man was ever clearer.
Just when he was about to quietly study the picture, the doorbell rang.
The butler opened up the door respectfully, bowed, and said happily, “Young Master is back.”
Chi Yu walked inside in big steps, looked around the living room but did not spot anyone there.
He heard noises coming from the study and walked inside. Then he saw a small and soft body squatting quietly on the floor with a big book in his arms. He was staring at it intensely.

Chi Yu asked solemnly, “Where is your mother?”
Chi Cheng was startled by the voice and quickly hid the magazine behind his back. He stared at him, alarmed, and said, “I am not telling you.”
Chi Yu did not know how to get along with little kids. After a long while he finally squeezed out the words, “I’ll spank you if you don’t tell me.”
Chi Ying felt very unjust. He angrily picked up his book and, his little bottom twisting from side to side, tried to run past Chi Yu and out of the room.
That was when Chi Yu noticed that it wasn’t a kid’s book that Chi Ying was holding in his chest. Judging from the style and the cover, it looked to be an adult magazine. The cover was pressed up tight against Chi Ying’s chest and Chi Yu couldn’t see anything.
Was it some magazine that they hand out in the middle of the street? Chi Yu walked over to him and said, “Let me see it!”
Chi Cheng pouted. “No!”
Chi Yu had no experience with kids so the only thing that he could think of was to press for it. He said dully, “Perhaps it is my book. Show it to me.”
“……” Chi Cheng’s eyes widened. “Uncle, you don’t only fight me over my snacks and milk, now you even want to take mommy’s book!”
Chi Cheng didn’t want to engage with him, he started to dash.
Chi Yu sighed and reached out his hands to tickle Chi Cheng.
Chi Cheng, not expecting that, his face turned beet red and half of the magazine was in Chi Yu’s hand.
Chi Yu could now see that it looked to be a financial magazine of sort.

Chi Cheng was very upset and tried to pull it back as hard as he could. With a loud tearing sound, the cover of the magazine split into halves.
Chi Cheng felt bad and started crying. “You are awful!”
Chi Yu was anxious as well but he feigned to be impatient as he comforted him. “Alright, alright! It’s no big deal! Stop crying already!”
Chi Cheng started crying even harder. Finally, Jing Zheng, who was napping upstairs, was woken up.
“ChengCheng, what happened? Chi Yu, you are back? Why did you make ChengCheng cry the moment you got hom?” Jing Zheng gave him a stare and said. “How old are you? You’ve got to be patient with kids.”
Patient my @$$!
They didn’t even know who’s the father of the child. The more he thought about it the angrier he was.
How could he be patient?

Eight Years Ago"Mom.." I say with a small smile on my face.My sister had passed her first music lesson and we're all so proud of her."What is it Layla!? can't you see I'm busy?!" She snaps."Oh.." I say, my smile faltering slightly, as I watch mom cuddle Heidi and give her lots of sweets as reward."C-can I have a sweetie too?" I ask.Mom laughs coldly. "Why should you? You've never achieved anything, have you?! Lazy little brat." Heidi giggles and I look at her to see a smirk on her face, making my face fall. I watch mom whisper things to Heidi, making her giggle even more. The door swings open, and my dad walks in.I smile again, running to him and hug his knees but he just brushes me off with an annoyed expression, walking towards my mom hugging her and ruffling Heidi's hair. What's going on?"Dad..ruffle my hair too?" I ask hesitantly. All three of them burst out laughing and I sink down in embarassment."Layla, we always knew you weren't the brightest kid here." He laughs "I just knew you'd be a screw up, right Luise?" He says and she nods."And I was right. You're a failure" He grabs my maths sheet, crumples it up and throws it at me. "You spend way too much time with your 'friends' never on your education, you ungrateful little brat. We should've got rid of you as soon as we found out you were on the way." He spits out spitefully as my mum nods, still smirking."Dad I'll do better, I promise!"I sob, tears streaming down my face, but he shakes his head, smirking. I look at my sister and walk towards her giving her a watery smile."H-Heidi... we're still friends right?" I ask, desperately. Her smirk slowly vanishes. she leans forward and I thought she'd hug me, but instead she pulls my hair and pushes me onto the floor making me scream. She laughs, my parents joining her."Stupid" she hisses, kicking me, before going to my parents, all of them walking out, leaving me on the floor, crying my eyes out. What have I done to deserve this?
