Chapter 40 - Rehearsing A Scene for Boss Lu (1)

A few days later, the audition was finally over. Liao YaYun gave everybody two extra days to get familiar with the script.

Zhao Wan did very well during the audition and landed the role of second female lead. Chi Ying was very happy for her and the two of them went to KFC to celebrate.

Xiao Hang successfully nailed the role of male lead, who’d be Chi Ying’s lover in the play.

Luo Li, too, has quite a few scenes, including a song that lasted half a minute. Her voice was very melodious and would be able to make the song sound very dreamy.

Two days later, the rehearsal began.

After the morning training and breakfast, Chi Ying arrived at the training location fairly early. She hadn’t expected that there was only one other person besides her. It was Xiao Hang. He was the first one there.

Chi Ying thought a somewhat popular star would be somewhat arrogant. She hadn’t expected that he was taking this final play so seriously. There was certainly good reasons behind his success.

Xiao Hang smiled and greeted her. “Good morning, Chi Ying.”

Xiao Hang was a fairly standoffish person normally but definitely looked very friendly when he smiled. Chi Ying looked up at the tall boy in front of him and smiled. “Good morning to you too.”

Xiao Hang waved the script in his hand and said, “Nobody is here yet, but we can start.”

Chi Ying’s eyes beamed. She felt that she was very lucky to have a partner like him. She gladly agreed to his suggestion. “Yes, let’s try to run the lines.”

When the other students arrived, they were very much into their roles and were just about to hug each other. All the girls teased, “Oh~~ You two~~”

Chi Ying took a step back reflexively and Xiao Hang blushed instantly.

Chi Ying knew of Xiao Hang’s identity. Having rumors would hurt him. She quickly said to them, “Oh, stop it already, you guys. We are just practicing the scripts.”

Her voice was a little big eager; her eyes clear and filled with seriousness and stubbornness. The others couldn’t bring themselves to tease them any more and, one by one, they’ve picked up their own script and started practicing as well.

When Liao YaYun walked in, the voices of all the student joined together into one. She was both surprised and touched.

The rehearsal for the graduation play was in full force and Chi Ying’s life had gotten much busier than when school had first started. In the past, she only had one class in the morning and had a lot of free time in the afternoon. Now, she has to rehearse all day long and had additional training in the evening.

Chi Ying needed to take an early bus out in the morning for her 6 AM practice and only came home on the final bus at night.

Jing Zheng felt bad for her and asked her to stop commuting from home but to stay over at the dorm room with the rest of her classmates. With the two-hour commute daily, she wouldn’t be able to get a lot of sleep and it would be too tiring. She could go home after her busy time was over.

Chi Ying, however, declined that suggestion. She was having less and less time with Chi Cheng and she didn’t want to lose the last bit of time that she spent in bed with him.

Fall has come to City C before long and fall leaves could be seen all over the film academy. The ground was covered in a layer of gold.

Between the fall leaves and the very architectural sculptures, the campus looked very poetic and many of the photography students took pictures of the campus.

Many of the photography students asked Chi Ying to be their model, but she had to turned them down. She had been so busy lately she truly didn’t have time to tend to anything else. Everything had to wait till after her graduation play.
