'Jea was murdered and Zeus is the traitor.' I thought as I woke up in the familiar surroundings of my room at Aaron's pack. I let out a relieved sigh, knowing that I am safe. I then try twisting around on the bed and surprisingly I don't feel sore or experience any pain.

'Thanks to the moon goddess.'

The door slam open and Aberdeen walks in surprising me. There's a breakfast in her hands which made her focus on balancing the tray and not knowing that I am awake. I smile at her but the sound of her sniffling as if she's been crying made the smile on my face disappear. My heart goes out to my poor best friend. She must have been so worried.

"Aber."

She stops and glances to see me. I smile at her again and Aber being Aber started to cry. She quickly places the tray on the table near the door and run up to me. She crushed me into a big hug which I returned wholeheartedly. Oh, how I miss my bestie, my one, and an only real friend.

"You bad girl," she says, pushing pushes me back on the bed and wiping the tears on her cheek.

"Hey, I didn't do anything."

She rolls her eyes and hit me on the arm. "Yes, you did missy. You scared me and you never call me again," she scolded me.

"Hey don't blame as bad life dramas won't leave me alone and if you could recall I did call you," I reply.

"Well, call me if another drama happens and I remember the last time you were 3 weeks ago pup," she retaliates, pinching me and I laugh at her before I hug her like a child clinging to her mother.

"Awww, I won't be doing it again," I tell her and ask her "so how did you come, and why exactly are you here?"

She let out a long sigh as she fumbles with her fingers. She moves away from me and sits on the chair next to the bed, taking my hands into hers. "We're moving packs, for now. Both Eric and Aaron have offered for all packs to move the children and women here at the Moonbridge for protection. Eric's pack is now used for training campus." she explains.

"That's good! Now I get to hang out more often with you," I say squeezing her hands,

My bedroom door opens again. Jay, Aaron, Conrad, Leto, and Josh walk inside. "Hello, gents," I greeted, waving my hand at them and with a big smile on my face.

"It's good to see you up. Are you feeling any better?" ask Leto in concern. "I am perfectly fine," I reply and he smiles at me in return. He came and stood beside Aberdeen while the rest scatter around my bed, circling me.

"We know that Alpha Zeus betrayed us and Jea is dead," says Aaron, and I almost gag at his words. I mean can't he just say hello or are you? instead of being a cold prick. I heave a sigh and cock my head on the right side to see him. I ask him, "How did you know?"

"I heard the howl of your wolf and one of my warriors informed us sometime after last night that Alpha Zeus is the traitor. So you weren't the only one who witnessed it last night. However, I still want to hear your side to confirm everything," he says.

I sit there not saying anything for a second before I open up to them again. "The barrier hasn't vanished completely," I start and they listen without interrupting me.

"I overheard Jea saying that only 100 hunters can make it through the barrier. None of those hunters can go back. It means that they die if they do so as only the wolves' gene could bypass the barrier." After telling them some of the things I heard and witnessed, Jay looks on with frustration and I know that he's not only hurt but felt betrayed by his cousin.

"I don't know why he did it. How can I be so blind...? I didn't expect him to be so" he keeps rambling.

"I think I do," I said to him, and every one turn back to face me. "His Mate is a hunter and we killed her only family. You know they were part of the coup that was killed when I was rescued," I explains.

"Then isn't he supposed to kill us then, since we're on the hit list?" he says pointing between the two of us.

"They know we didn't do it," I said.

Jay suddenly jumped to his feet and turn his back on us facing the door. "So, this is their revenge?" he asks and I nod my head no. "It isn't just about revenge Jay. It's about overpowering and dominating our realm."

I pause and thought for a second before I continue to say, "I have a hunch that they won't attack Eric's pack. It's crazy to think in such a way but talking to you guys made me feel like Moonbridge would be the first to be eliminated given that all women and children are being moved here. Yes and don't forget Zeus was here last night."

No one in the room dared to speak, Aaron moved as if he wanted to say something but the sirens indicating that there are intruders interrupted him.

"We're under attack," he says and hurriedly rushes out of the room.

The others in the room start to move around as howls and cries were heard from the borders. I flung away the sheet and stands up to go. I rush downstairs where everyone is busy around. Some are already half shifting and the others are ushering the people to keep moving.

I halt in my steps and turn around to find Leto holding Aberdeen by the arm. Emergency evacuation notices keep repeating and children along with women were ushered by the warrior to move into the safe room.

"Not you" I hear Leto whisper but Aberdeen shrugged off his hand.

"What's going on?" I ask them.

"She's pregnant and I don't want her to fight" Leto replies and at the same time, he looks at her with pleading eyes. I narrow my eyes at Aberdeen.

"Lady you better get your ass in there with the others," I told her sternly. "We need you safe with our little gifts. His father and aunty will fight your battles. So you better trust and have hope in us."

Aberdeen cries leaning to Leto and I pat her back before leaving them alone and running outside of the house. I then sprint to the pack's border without waiting for another second

When I arrived I saw everyone already shifted into their wolf forms and I runs to the front, standing on Aaron's left side. Aaron squeezed my hand before telling me that he has consent to open his pack's link for me. I did not protest as this is a matter of life and death and I need the link with them to communicate.

He handed me a red cloth and I glance at him. His eyes were focused on the space between his borderline and the untouched territory borderline. "We are wearing red strings on our left arm," he explains through the link.

"Are you ready?" he asks and turn to look at me. I smile and nod my head yes.

We both turn to the front and see Zeus emerging from the untouched territory borderline along with a brunette. She looks badass in the way she walks as if she is more than ready to kill anyone. I wonder if she is the mate. Zeus smirks at us and we hear growls from the rogues in the woods behind them.

"Look what we got here. This is perfect and I will enjoy killing everyone here but not you my dear" he says pointing his finger to me and letting out a whistle. Wolves began to run out from the woods along with the hunters. There were a lot of them.

Aaron let out a thunderous growl in the air before he shifted too in his wolf and everyone around him growls and makes a run for the kill. "Eliz" I growl and she growls back before our bones crack but I never fully shifted into my full wolf form.

The first hunter that tries to surpass the defending line and enter the territory is my first kill. I am never nice with the way I kill them.

The fight is going brutal as everyone has their goal to achieve. After killing another hunter, I turn back to check and see Eric and Lucian joining us. I turn back and snap the other rogue's head as he tries to kill one of Aaron's warriors. This ongoing war is all about survival and you survived when you are skillful enough and know the techniques.

The fight went up for hours. The rogues and hunters were starting to minimize in size. It was a sign that we were near the end. I am beginning to hope that we are going to win this.

I killed another rogue and gasped for air. Blood covers my clothes and painted my hands. I would need a nice bath after this. I smile and rest, leaning against a tree for support. My back facing the direction of where the fight is taking place. I hear a movement behind me but I never bother to turn around.

BANG! BANG!

Two gunshots were fired, along with a piercing howl, which made me jump and swirl around in alarm to see what is going on. I came to face with the badass female's body lying lifeless on the ground without a heart. I slowly drag my gaze up to see the ripped heart within Eric's hand. His back is on me.

Zeus moves to attack Eric but Aaron was quick to get where we are and fight against him. Zeus seeing that he's about to defeat retreats with the rest of the rogues and hunters.

I stood there touching my chest. I am too stunned to move or say anything. I was saved by someone whom I never expected to do that for me.

Eric turns around to face me. He drops to his knees along with the heart that was in his hand.

"Eric," I gasp.

I quickly move towards him, holding him up before he completely falls to the ground. "Eric," I stutter as his body came crashing into mine. I held him up before I check for his wounds. I found that he has been shot with wolves-bane on the stomach and the right side of his chest.

"Eric," I say, shaking him as I started to hear his breathing fade. I tilt his face up to look at him. However, his eyes tell another story that made me look at him in puzzle. Eric looks at me with remorse and all those emotions I've never seen on his face before were now expressed through his eyes.
