《A Mate for the Latecomer》Chapter 30: Rogues

"Move your leg," Conrad says and tries to push them off the chair in front of me. I shut my werewolf romance book that I was reading and glared up at him.

"Can't you take another one?" I reply.

I can't believe this guy loves to pester me and Eliz. Ever since Aaron took me back to his pack, his Beta wouldn't leave me alone. He always likes to annoy me.

"Nope!" he pops the p sound and adds on, "I love this chair since the day I set my eyes on it."

I scoff at him and put off my legs. However, before he gets the chance to sit on it I kick the chair to the other side. Conrad fell onto the floor and I try to hold in my laughter. It's his turn to glare at me.

"Oops, my bad but you can have it," I said with a smirk. His glare hardens but I just shrug it off. I move my legs to rest on the next couch and only to rest them on Aaron's lap who just happens to sit on it at the same time. I groan in irritation and try to remove my legs from his lap but he held them there.

Aaron and I have become closer in fact we're not really in for a love relationship stage. I think if other people see us sitting in this position they will misinterpret it. It's funny how the big meanie Alpha transforms into a smiley one. Aaron has been treating me well and he also reprimanded his pack for spreading rumors about him and me.

I let out a sigh and flip my book open to the chapter that I last read before Conrad invaded privacy. 'Perfect,' I smile when my eyes fix on the lines of the protagonist's confession to her mate.

"Eric will move here with Claire and Jea," he says to Aaron while he rubs my legs. I close the book for the second time and try to pull my legs off Aaron's lap but he holds on to it. "They'll stay for a month," he added.

Are you kidding me? No way!

"Can I have my legs back?" I ask and he frowns at me, giving me time to move my legs off of him. When I am on my feet I look back at him and bend down, poking his forehead with my finger.

"Frowning doesn't suit you," I said and straighten up my back before I began to walk back to my room.

"Let me know when they're here, I'll lay out the red carpet," I shout back with my back on him and my book waving in the air. I could hear Conrad's laughter but I am not in the mood to make jokes anymore.

I take three steps on the stairs when a car engine is heard from outside of the pack house. Aaron and Conrad move from the couch and walk to the front door. I could hear it open and shut and then their voices from where I am standing and by the sound of those noises I heave a sigh and continue to walk. I hate to see them again and it's been a month since I last saw our despicable guests.

The door opens again and the sound of heels click on the tile floor. 'Claire' mutter Eliz. However, her entrance didn't stop me from walking upstairs to my room.

"Elle" Eric's voice stops me in my track and I silently curse to myself. 'Why did it take ages for me to reach my room?' I ask under my breath and turn around to face the unwanted guests. Eric greeted me with a smile and I raise my hand in at him and greeted him, 'hi.'

"You're here? It's good to see you again," I lie through my teeth. Oh yes, never would I ever want to see them again, specifically Claire and the witch-bitch. I am not surprised to see Jea still clinging to Claire's side.

"Just him?" Claire asks and throws me a death glare.

"Maybe" I retort and heave my shoulder. "I'll see you around," I added and turn to go to my room. When I reach my room I open the door and shut it behind me. Then I move to the bed, grabbing my pillow and scream in it 'ahhhhhhh better'.

I closed my eyes afterward and drifted off to sleep.

Screams were heard outside the howls from the woods. I stay sleeping in my bed. Probably another dream so I nuzzled my head deeper into my pillow.

"I think this is her," I hear voices and Eliz started to whimper which annoys me as I want to have my beauty sleep.

'Stop it, Eliz," I told but Eliz whined in my head that someone was in the room. I felt my arms then my body being flung up in the air which caught me off guard completely. I thrash around, trying to free myself however, I am being pressed onto the cold floor by my kidnappers.

'Okay, that's not anything!' My eyes are wide open in alert.

I look back and see two or that's what I thought. However, when I rub my eyes to look again and realized that there are actually four crazy people holding me down, and they smelled like rogues. I keep on thrashing around yet their hold on me was strong.

They bound my hands together with a silver cuff before pulling me up on my feet and throwing me over on one of the rogues' shoulders. I won't lie if I said it doesn't hurt because the silver cuff is made of wolves-bane.

"Put me down," I scream as my cuffed hands pounded the rogue's back. 'Help' I call out but nobody came to help me.

Damn it, Eliz, how can they not hear me?" I ask my wolf who is trying to force our shift unfortunately the silver chain around my wrist is reprimanding us from doing it. Yeah, just like before they must be pretending to not hear us. The rogues jump from the balcony on the second floor of the pack-house and made it to the ground safely.

And before I could protest again the douche that was holding me dumped me on the ground. My back hurts and I could hear the bell ringing. I shook my head and look around to only find wolves fighting.

'What?' I ask and my eyes widen in surprise at the fact that I wasn't informed or anyone coming to wake me up.

'Shit, we are under attack," said Eliz. 'How come we didn't?' I thought and Eliz was about to explain it when one of the rogues drag me by my shirt. They dragged me on the field, surrounded by rogues fighting against Aaron's pack.

I hear a loud whistle made by another rogue and then followed by a howl. I look around and see Aaron and Eric still in their human form.

'Funny that I don't see Claire,' I said to Eliz.

'Those bitches must be in the safe house' Eliz growls through our link.

"Enough or the witch dies," shouted the rogue whose hand is securely around my arm. Everyone stopped and all eyes were now on us.

"We got what we came for," he said and the rogues began to disperse. Once most of his wolves were gone, he turn and grin at the pack wolves, saying "bye, bye now losers." He grins at me and pulls me against his chest ready to sag me on his shoulder and disappear from here but Eric runs forward from the back of their defense and yells at my captors, "wait that's not her."

The remaining rogues including the one holding me stop in their tracks. We turn around to look at the two Alphas and the pack warriors.

"You got the bitch instead of the witch," says Claire as she walks from behind Aaron, and at that moment I am killing her in my imagination since I cannot do any physical harm to her face.

'Great! leave it to the fake ass bitch to kill us,' groan Eliz. 'I hate her ugly ass' I mutter in return. However, when an idea crossed my mind I grin at Claire which made her furrow her brow upon seeing my grin.

"That's true roggie... that whore of a Luna is speaking the truth. And you should listen to what she says," I said which made her smile fades and is replaced with her growls.

"Let her go and we can bargain," Aaron cut in, making the rogue chuckle.

"We want the witch," demands a bald head rogue.

"Fine we'll give her to you but you need to let her go," compromise Aaron as he moves closer.

"Witch first and bitch last," retorted the bald rogue.

"Wait," said another rogue. He came from behind whispering something in the baldhead's ear and I could hear them.

These rogues forgot I am a werewolf too.

"We take her too she's the one on the hunters' list" whispers the idiot rogue. I watched as they exchanged a look for a moment before the bald head turned to Aaron and Eric. "Sorry Alpha but we'll take the bitch too. Find the witch!" he shouted to the remaining rogues.

Eliz flinch at his words which made both of us force our shift despite the painful cries from my mouth because of the silver chain effects. "You did not just call me that" I spat, catching the rogues' attention. They all stare at my furious face and the sound of my bones breaking. This distraction caught them off guard by Conrad's dagger aimed straight in my direction and sliced through the air, killing one of the rogues behind me.

I threw myself on the ground before rolling over. Aaron and Eric quickly move in for the kill. Conrad got to me at speed, releasing my hands with silver metal. Everyone moves back in their fighting stances and right when we were about to clear them all out some of the remaining rogues retreated.

Except for the bald one who made a quick move to kill Conrad. In noticing this, I got in between them in time which was a wrong move as his claw slashed through my chest, not too deeply but it has thrown both of us in the air. My back hit a tree while Conrad fell to the ground on the other side. I felt my head pounding with pain.

The bald head rogue evilly smirks at me as he moved in my direction, taking his time. I glance over his shoulder and saw him shift into his wolf form. His wolf brought back memories that began to play in my head.

"It can't be," I mutter as I struggle to get up, trying to reach out to him even though we're kind of far from one another.

The rogue didn't get the chance to kill me as the shifted wolf kills him before he even lays a finger on me. The familiar wolf's sharp fangs dug into the rogue's neck and claws on his chest. He then threw the rogue away like a rag after he is done with his body before he run to stand before me.

My hands were shaking as I reach out and touch his snout mumbling, "it's you."

And then I blacked out.
