Author's pov:

Signs from the universe trickle in as a lullaby. They get them though this life. They get them from today safely into the next today. Yet there are times when they come as a flood triggering significant signs from the past, weaving them together as a warning of change, of another blessing, another curse, another duty... and they pray some fun times too.

Today is gonna be a flood. A total flood of love. One cannot tell what is to come, only that it is harbinger of great challenge and great joy, thus great opportunity too. The outcome is unwritten. For this moment, this is today. The day when the two soles, that perfectly complement each other, are gonna tied into a holy bond for lifetime.

Yes! It was their wedding today.

Both of them didn't realise how those four days passed, in a spur of time. All the preparations were to be done by the wedding planners but, as Maya wanted , she chose each and everything for her wedding, of course with Xavier's help. Xavier also, freed his schedule whenever needed in these days to accompany Maya for everything. Everything was going so perfect that Maya used to pinch herself every now and then to believe, whether it's true or not.

Xavier woke up at the crack of dawn. Except for a few voices of the chirping birds, the morning was calm. The ticking of a clock that hung on a beautiful wall with all sorts of decor reminded him that he was quite early. Still, he rushed to the bathroom and had a cold shower. Upon reaching his room, he dressed to kill.

He gobbled down the scrumptious breakfast that his maid just served and now, he was ready to leave. He boarded his Limousine then, his chauffeur started the engine. They left home for the church in a supersonic speed.

On the other side, Maya who was staying at Dan's for easy dressing and make up, prepared herself by putting on a magnificent wedding gown. It was white with shiny bottons that made her as beautiful as a gazelle.

Dan and Liam along with Daisy, escorted her to the place where she would meet her would-be husband— Xavier, her knight in shining armour.

Xavier, who was now patiently waiting for Maya with his best man Lucas , was highly impatient.

Maya's pov:

Finally, as I heard in the room adjacent, the priest came out and asked every to stand. It was my turn! All eyes would soon be on me. The music started. My palms started to sweat but, soon it were held by a protective hold. Liam. My Brother. He was going to walk me down the aisle.

"Let's go, Maya." He said kissing my forehead. I could see his eyes glisten a bit. But, he quickly wiped them off.

"It's a happy day Liam." I reminded him.

"I know. It feels really nice to see your sister this happy. I hope that all your pain and sufferings make their way to me everytime they think of you." I was really touched by his words.

I hugged him and kissed him on his cheek. "I am the luckiest in this whole world." He grinned at me and took me towards my man.

Liam escorted me down the aisle, which seemed longer than before. He became my strength; without him I would faint. Everyone looked at me, taking pictures of my dress, smiling- one thing was for sure, though... no one made a sound.

Up ahead I saw him, Xavier. My future husband, the love of my life, my everything. He stood taller, his shoulders back and his eyes on me. If I wasn't mistaken, I could have sworn tears filled his eyes. He definitely looked devilishly handsome but, tears in his eyes gathered my attention the most.

Walking ahead Liam have my hand to Xavier, which he gladly took.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness this man and woman join together in holy matrimony." Teh priest said.

The priest recited a few holy versus, which though I may sound selfish or offensive, didn't hear properly, as I was busy in savouring memories of this beautiful day, that I awaited long.

Then, he asked us to recite the vows.

"I, Xavier Adams, take you, Maya Jones, to be my lawfully wedded wife, my constant friend, my faithful partner and my love from this day forward. In the presence of our family and friends, I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, and in joy as well as in sorrow. I promise to love you unconditionally, to support you in your goals, to honor and respect you, to laugh with you and cry with you, and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live. I promise to not leave you till death do us apart and if possible, even after that."

Then, the priest asked me the same.

"I, Maya Jones, take you Xavier Adams, to be my lawfully wedded husband, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our union and love you more each day than I did the day before. I will trust you and respect you, laugh with you and cry with you, loving you faithfully through good times and bad, regardless of the obstacles we may face together. I give you my hand, my heart, and my love, from this day forward for as long as we both shall live."

We both exchanged vows, tears filling both our eyes.

Then, ring bearer came forward and presented the rings. I placed Xavier's ring on first, then he placed on mine.

"I now pronounce you as man and wife. You may kiss the bride." The priest said to Xavier.

"I was eagerly waiting for this." Xavier said, as he wisphered near me . He leaned in and kissed me, softly like he's never done it before. As our lips met, I lost my strength to stand. But, he held me firmly by waist, as he sucked onto my lower lip.

Everyone cheered for us, making us back off.

We then, headed for the reception party.

The wedding reception was a garden party held upon a day of orange skies at time of the dusk and sweetly rising cold. Love was in the air as if it were a new kind of electricity, so palpable and real. Amid the flowers, amid the petals in romantic hue, we were all renewed that day.

We had a bash at the party. Everyone danced their hearts out, including us.

As the wedding ceremonies and the reception party ended, we both headed back home. We both didn't talk much after the ceremony but, had a contended smile our faces. I was so happy that I got what I always dreamt of.

Definitely, I missed my parents. My dad was supposed to walk me down the aisle. Xavier sent invitations to them saying that they have the right to witness my wedding. But, not accepting the invitation was their choice.

My chain of thoughts broke when the car halted at a familiar place. We came out of the car and opened the door to the mansion.

Xavier held my hand and took me with him. To the Study.

Wait! Study!

"Xavier, why are we here in the study?" I asked curiously.

He didn't say a word. Just made me sit on the couch. He went to the cabinet and took out a file. He sat beside me and looked at me.

"Maya, I know that you trust me. But this time, I want you to blindly follow me without any questions. Trust me when I say, I am not going to do anything wrong."

"I have trusted you with my life and I don't think there is anything more than that to prove myself." Taking his hand into mine, I expressed my trust.

He forwarded the file to me and indicated a line at the bottom that wrote Maya Jones. "Sign here."

I opened my mouth to ask him the reason for my signature but, then close it immediately, when I remembered that he requested me to follow him blindly.

I took the pen and signed.

I was looking at him curiously to see if he explains me but, instead he went and kept back the file in the cabinet and forwarded his hand to me. I gave him my palm lovingly and he took me inside his room. Sorry Our Room.

"I know it's our wedding night but the thing I am going to do is more important than that. Just change into something comfortable and come downstairs within 20 minutes. I am waiting for you." He said.

Before I could ask him anything, he went down closing the door lightly. To say that I was confused would be an understatement. Because I was completely clueless of what was happening around me.

Within 15 minutes, I changed into my all time favourite t-shirt and jeans and descended downstairs in the living room to find that he was already waiting for me. He also had changed his suit and was now in his casuals.

"Let's go." He said and took me towards the garage. He took out his favourite Bugatti Divo. He opened the passenger seat for me, I got inside and before I could say anything, he took out a blindfold from his pocket and tide it around my eyes.

"Xavier, what are you doing?" I gasped at the sudden suspense.

"Relax baby. It's just me. I'm gonna take you somewhere. Just sit quietly." With that, I huffed and shut my mouth.

After sometime, the car stopped and my hands automatically went to the knot of the fold.

"Maya wait! Don't open the fold."

"Ughhh." He chuckled at my irritation and I felt him opening my side of the door.

He carefully took me out and his hand encircled my waist.

After walking ahead for a while, I felt him open my blindfold. I was excited as well as nervous to see what awaited me.

Xavier's pov:

This was a thrill moment where Maya's face washed blank with confusion, like her brain cogs couldn't turn fast enough to take in the information from her wide eyes.

"What's this?" She asked looking at the large building infront of her.

It read.

"Your company Maya." I told, slightly rubbing her shoulders to release her shock.

Everything surprised her. That's the bonus of having low expectations, expect nothing and people will surpass it with ease. High expectations are just a one way ticket to resentment and I know that she can't live that way.

"You gotta be kidding me." She said, finally opening her mouth.

"Not at all baby. This is your company. Legally, it's half mine too but, you are the owner of the other half and the ceo who is going to run this."

"But....how... how's thi..this possible." Her stammering made me realise that this is something too big for her expectations.

"Maya. Relax. It's nothing much." I started to calm her.

Every muscle of her body just froze before a grin crept onto her face, it soon stretched from one side to the other showing every single tooth.

"Come, I'll show you around." With that I took her inside.

Maya's pov:

I was, no I'm still very shocked with this. How can he just gift me a company? It's fucking crazy!

He was now showing me the insides. Perfectly elegant and sophisticated, it was.

The building had flexible and technologically-advanced working environments that are safe, healthy, comfortable, durable, aesthetically-pleasing, sustainable, and accessible. It was able to accommodate the specific space and equipment needs of the tenant.

Special attention was made to the selection of interior finishes and art installations, particularly in entry spaces, conference rooms and other areas with public access. It incorporated a number of space types to meet the needs of staff and visitors.

He then, took me to a cabin. Before I could enter, my eyes captured a never expected sight.

"Xavier this...." My voice broke looking at my name. How can I be so blessed to have this man into my life? He fulfills my every dream with even knowing about it.

He just gave me a smile and pulled me inside with him.

"Xavier wait!" He looked at me and replied, "What happened Maya?"

"Look Xavier, I know you did this all with so much of love. But..."

"But..." He interrupted.

"But, I can't accept this. This is too much. Please."

He came forward, held my hand in his and took me to the couch.

"Maya, I know this is a bit overwhelming. But trust me , I know you have the potential to handle this company and the calibre to run it successfully."

"Whatever it might be. But, I can't. What if I fail? What if I make wrong decisions? What if I turn you down?"

"It's completely okay. It's fine if you fail. It's fine if you make wrong decisions. Because I know that my Maya is a fighter. She might fall down at the first but, she'll get up way more strong the next time. She can tackle every situation and solve every problem.

And most importantly, you won't be alone. As I said , I'm the half owner of this company. You'll have me by your side everytime you make decisions. I'll there to celebrate every success of yours as well as to lift you up at every failure. I'll there." He said cupping my cheeks.

"But, I'm... I'm afraid." I stuttered, as tears prickled down my cheeks.

"There's no need to be afraid. Okay fine. I agree you might be scared to handle such big responsibility, all of a sudden. We'll do one thing. For the initial times, you handle the technical stuff and I'll look after the finance. At least, you can look after this. In the meantime, I can train you for the finance." I nodded at his proposal with a tearful smile.

"Now come on. Stop crying and give me a hug. Tight one." I chuckled at his demand and tightly hugged him. His hug calmed me down, sending shivers of happiness and love into my nerves.

I felt the shifting of gears within the cosmos. A different future is coming, a better one. What we do builds on our goodness. These trajectories toward apocalpse are challenging to shift, yet that is what is happening. It is time we shifted up a gear too, double down, bite it, whatever phrase gets you moving with ever greater determination to bring a better world for this and future generations.

"Together, we can do anything and everything." He said, as he kissed my crown. "Maya, it's past 10 pm. We should head back to the mansion. " I nodded smiling with contentment and joy.

We reached home and I went to the room to take a quick shower. I was honestly tired with all the wedding, the reception party, then visiting the company. But, all my tiredness vanished as soon as the hot water did its work.

After a long, hot shower, I went in the bedroom to see my husband talking on a call. He smiled at me and went back to his call while I went to the vanity to get done with my night skin care regime.

I was nervous as well as excited for tonight. Tonight will be first time , I'll be sleeping beside my husband. Definitely, it won't be anything new as I've slept with him before, but not to forget tonight's Our Wedding Night.

Xavier, after he had changed for good, has been very patient with me. He never crossed his line and he never did anything, I was uncomfortable with. He always made sure that I was fine and taken care off. Now, it's high time that we consummate our relationship. And, what better than our Wedding Night.
