Maya's pov:

"Hey Babe! Whatsup? You are okay, right?" Daisy asked on the call.

"Yeah I'm fine. I just wanted to know if you're okay. You are, right?" I asked her .

"I am perfectly alright. What would happen to me?" She asked me laughing at my question.

"No , just wanted to know that. When are you coming at the mansion? I want talk to you regarding something."

"I was actually gonna come tomorrow. But, I think I'll get free till 7.30 in the evening. So , will probably reach there by 8." She replied.

We exchanged goodbyes after that and hung the phone.

I don't know why, but I felt like something's strange.

Knowing Mr. Adams, he would have killed the person who dared to hurt him and most importantly his best friend. But, here they both talked like they are best of buddies. I was confused. I decided to talk to Daisy when she'll come.

After sometime, Anna came . We talked like some long lost friends.

Around 1, Mr. Adams came with my lunch. He directly talked with Anna about my medicines and my lunch. He didn't even glance at me once. I felt bad by his ignorance. But, that's what I wanted, right?

It was around 7 , when I woke up. How could I sleep this long? I thought to myself.

"Thank God you woke up. Otherwise, I thought that I will have spend my night here only, waiting for your beauty sleep to get over."

It was Liam sitting on the couch.

"When did you come?" I asked him.

"About some 40 mins ago."

"Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked him feeling bad for wasting his time.

"Oh trust me, I don't want to die."

"Huh?"

"What I mean is that your dearest husband strictly warned me to not disturb your sleep. If I did that, he would have definitely killed me."

"Oh! I'm really sorry you had wait this long . I don't know how I fell asleep after lunch. I never sleep too much." I apologized to Liam.

"Oh, no worries Maya. I didn't have any work at the hospital now. Plus, I had an amazing time with Lucas and Xavier. They went towards the living room just some time ago. And, don't worry about your long hours of sleep. It's just due to the heavy dose." He told me.

"Oh. Okay."

Later, he checked my blood pressure and the other movements of my body.

After some chit chatting, he went.

It was around 7.45 , when Lucas came with a tray of food in his hand and a smile on his handsome face.

"It's time for the dinner, princess."

"You would have had dozens of girls running behind you before your marriage." I smiled back at him.

"Trust me on this, they weren't just before marriage. They are still running behind me." He told laughing.

"And what do you do about that?"

"I run faster than them. Because if my any chance, Dan gets to know about this, she'll first eat the girls alive and then, cut me into pieces, fry me in oil and then eat me."

We both were a laughing mess at this statement.

"I can imagine that." I told him and he turned serious.

"Trust me, even I can imagine that with you and Xavier." My smile faded.

"You are living in a delusional world Lucas. Yours was a different thing. It had love from both the sides and your relationship was out of consent, respect and infinite love.

Ours, from beginning, is based on force. It is already destined to end, not to begin." I cleared his concept.

"You haven't witnessed what I have Maya. I bet you on my life that yours is going to be more beautiful than me and Dan.

Now, have your dinner before that demon kills me."

"Who?" I asked him.

"Who else than your husband? He is busy with Daisy and has asked me to feed you properly and give you medicines on time."

"Daisy has arrived?" I was shocked.

"Yeah. She came like some 20 mins ago. She'll meet you after sometime. Now have your dinner. You need to take medicines too."

"Only on one condition."I told him.

"What?"

"You'll take me to them as soon as I finish it." I kept forward my condition.

He started feeding me. I was eating quickly so that I can go them as soon as possible.

"Slow down, princess. I agree that you want to go to them. But, at this pace you'll choke on your own food." He explained me like a big brother.

I smile at him and he resumed feeding me again.

After the dinner was finished, he gave me the medicines.

"Now, let's go."

"Okay. Okay. Let's go." With that he picked me up and went towards Xavier's room.

As we were about to enter his room , I wisphered.

"Wait. We can't go inside." I told him.

"Why?"

"I am forbidden in his room."

"What nonsense? He won't say anything. " Lucas told me.

"No Lucas. I don't want to go inside. Just open the door a little so that we can peek inside."

"Okay my little detective." He pushed the door a little so that we can see inside.

They both were laughing their hearts out on God knows what thing. Daisy was feeding him by her hand.

I was fuming with anger right now. She is my best friend and apart from that she has no relation to anyone in this house. He is that same person who insulted her at their very first meeting and he is also that same person because of whom I am in this condition right now. Still, instead of coming and directly talking to me and asking me about my health, she is here laughing with him and feeding him.

"Let's go Lucas." I was hell angry right now. More than angry, I was upset.

"You sure that you don't want to go inside." I nodded and he took me upstairs to my room.

"What happened Maya? Your expressions have changed completely." Lucas asked.

"Yeah I'm fine Lucas. It's just that I thought that my best friend cared about my health more than anything else . She should have directly come to me and spend some time with me. But, she is feeding that person who is responsible for all this mess. Nevermind."

"Trust me Maya when I said earlier that you should have witnessed the past few days, I meant that . Xavier isn't that same person anymore. His regret of of bringing you in this condition would have cost his life , if it was not for Daisy and me constantly pulling him out of the situations. You don't know what he has been through in these days."

"Tell me what he's been through? I want to know. I want to know why you and Liam keep talking big about him all the time. I want to know why I am being cast as the guilty here and he is being portrayed as the victim."

"No one is portraying you or him anything. Don't assume things Maya and as far as telling you about him, it would be his insult. If he thinks you should know, then he'll tell . But , I won't insult my friend.

Now, please stop stressing over these little things. It's not good for you."

A knock on the door interrupted our talk.

"If you guys' talks are over then, can I have some time with my friend Liam?" Daisy asked.

"Sure. Who am I to refuse you Miss Destruction?"Liam said .

I was confused at this "Miss Destruction" word.

She came forward and playfully hit his head.

"That thing is over Lucas. Get over it. Don't keep on making me feel more guilty than I already am." She said to him.

"I was just messing around with you. Don't take it seriously." He laughed.

"Daisy is here now. In some time , Xav will also come. So, I think I should take your leave now. Dan must be waiting home." Lucas said.

He came towards me and said, " Take care of yourself and stop stressing. Okay?" He kissed my forehead and went towards Daisy.

"Take care of her and yourself too." He hugged her and went.

"Where were you?" I straight away asked Daisy.

" Oh ! No hello, no greetings."

" Don't increase my headache." I looked at her angrily.

"Oh chill angry woman. I was with Xavier. Wanted to have a talk with him."

She told me. I mentally thanked God that she spoke the truth. Otherwise, I would have broke her head by now.

"And what important talk you wanted to have that person?" I asked her irritated.

"That's between me and him. I can't tell you that."

"Ohh! Now that person who insulted you on your very first meeting, kept on saying God knows what filthy things to me and that same person who is responsible for my condition right now is more important to you than me. You first went to meet him . You were busy feeding him. You were busy with that devil rather than talking with me. Wow Daisy, just wow."

"What's wrong with you Maya? Why are insulting him so much? He isn't that bad. " She defended him.

"Now, you're defending him. What's wrong with you Daisy? Why are you so compassionate about that man?"

Before I could say anything more, Mr. Adams entered the room .

"What's wrong girls? I heard some noises near the corridor. Everything alright Daisy?" He asked.

"Talk to me you demon. Nothing is alright. First you took away my home, my freedom and now best friend too. You know what , you should have taken away my life instead. That would have saved so much time of yours and would have been easier for me too." Tears started flowing out from my eyes by now.

Xavier's pov:

It was around past 6 in the evening, when Liam came. We talked for a while in Maya's room.

It had been more than 4 hours , Maya is asleep. She may get up soon. She wouldn't like to see me here. I went from there. Even, Lucas came behind me.

"What's wrong man? You seem a bit unusual today. "

"Nothing Lucas. Just some work stress, I guess."

"If I'm not wrong, I'm the one handling your work along with Chris from the past one week. Now, would you tell me what's happening to you? Because I'm not gonna let this matter go." He said determined.

I knew that I had no other option than to tell him everything. So, I narrated the morning incident.

"Oh. Honestly, I don't know how should I react on this one. But, you knew from the start that this was going to be harder than you imagined. You can't just give up right now. You have still a lot to go ahead."

"I know this. But, it keeps on tearing me into pieces. I don't know how long will I last, if this thing continues to go on. I agree that I committed a mistake. But, the punishment I'm getting is beyond my take. I can't hold on to it for long." I expressed whatever was inside me.

"You're right. I guess, even I should have given up on Dan when you opposed our relationship. I should have broken up with her at the very moment, you slapped and punched me till blood came out of my mouth. I should have done that, right?"

"What the hell are you talking Lucas? You love Dan. And why are you reminding me all the those things again. You already know that how much guilty I still am of my deeds."

"I know that you were guilty of what you did. That was the complete reason we moved on with the thing and became more strong than we ever were." He said with a smile on his face.

"What are you implying Lucas?"

"You were guilty of what you did. That was the reason we both forgave you and moved on from the incident. And even you agree that after that fight, our friendship grew stronger than before.

In the same way, seeing that you are so guilty , even Maya will forgive you. Fights and arguments are necessary in a relationship Xavier. These things keep you intact on proving yourself and your partner the love you have for each other. After, everything is sorted out between you two, I know that you'll emerge stronger than before."

"Your situation and mine is a complete different thing . You both loved each other. That was the reason and the motivation for you both to fight for your love. Ours is a contractual marriage that will end with next few months."

"At least you can try to be on talking terms with each till the next few months. Try to know each other. Try to know about her. Who knows what these six months have in store for you? What the destiny might have planned for you?

You are keeping this thing in mind that you have to end this thing after six months. But, right now leave that contract somewhere and think about the present. We'll see the condition of this marriage after six months. And six months still have a lot time to go. You can try to make good use if these months that you have to spend with her." He told me.

"I think you're right. I should make the best use if this time right now. You know what I'm feeling proud of myself at this moment."

"May I know why?" He asked.

"For choosing the best of best friend. Thanks Lucas for always being there for me and bringing me out of difficult situations." I hugged him.

"Lucas can you please go and give dinner to Maya. I need some time. I promise I understood everything that you said. I just need to clear my mind." I told him as it was almost Maya's dinner time.

"It's okay. I'll do that." With that he went.

I took the bottle of whiskey kept on the center table and opened it.

As I was going to pour it into the glass, a voice interrupted.

"Don't you fucking dare."

It was Daisy.

"If you dared to drink even a sip from that bottle, I'll slam that same bottle onto your head. And, you very well know that it's not an empty threat."

I immediately put the bottle down.

"What's wrong with you Xavier? "

"What do you mean?" I asked her.

"I had a talk with Anna. She told me that you haven't eaten properly since morning. You did the same thing in the hospital. I thought it was the stress at the hospital. But, what's wrong now? Do you want to die out of starvation?

I even met Lucas now. He told me that you're upset regarding something. But, that's fine now.

Then, why aren't you taking care of your health.You didn't eat anything at the hospital apart from that coffee and three apples to be exact. And yeah one sandwich."

"Two sandwiches. Not one." I interrupted her.

"Don't you dare interrupt me again. And yeah, you did a huge favour by having two sandwiches. I can't still believe you survived

the last four days on these things. On top of that, you wanted to drink alcohol. It could have resulted to food poisoning. Drinking on an empty stomach is always risky." She scolded me like a teacher.

I don't know what came on to me but, I quickly hugged her.

"What happened Xavier? You alright?" She asked me getting shocked by my move. She kept on rubbing her hands over my back after getting no response from me.

After sometime, I broke the hug.

"You know what, I got a feeling like a teacher is scolding her student. Or better than that an elder sister is scolding her little brother."

She laughed and said, "You are elder to me. In that way, I can't be your elder sister. But, I can be the younger one."

"I already consider you my sister. You give the same comfort like Dan gives."

"But, I have one condition." She said.

"What?"

" I still have the right to scold you like an elder sister." She said and laughed.

"Even I want you to be the same."

"I'll get you something to eat and don't you dare refuse."

I was going to say that I'll eat afterwards but quickly kept a finger over my mouth. She is really a pure soul.

I'm really lucky to have people like Lucas and her in my life.

She came with a tray of food in her hand.

"Today, I'll feed you myself. " She said.

"I guess, then I'll have to eat extra." We both laughed.

She fed me the dinner. We had an amazing time with each other. She was continuously throwing jokes trying to light up my mood and it worked. I was much happy than before.

Later, she went to meet Maya.
