Maya's pov:

We reached the mansion. Lucas told me that Dan would meet me at the mansion only. I was excited to see Anna and Dan.

Mr. Adams and Lucas got out from the car. Lucas took out the wheelchair and Mr. Adams picked me to put on it. We went inside.

Lucas got a call regarding something. So, we decided to go ahead.

The living room was completely empty. I was disappointed as there was no one to welcome me.

"They are waiting for you upstairs." Mr. Adams wisphered near my ears.

His closeness was something, I never expected. But, from the last few days , I'm feeling like he's a complete different man.

Wait a second. How did he know that I was looking for Dan and Anna.

Did I say it aloud? I thought to myself.

"No, you didn't say that aloud . It's just that your expressions say that clearly." He said.

I looked at him shocked again. How can he know what I'm thinking?

He chuckled and said, "Don't stress your little brain. Your face says everything. You didn't say anything aloud. Now, let's go."

He came forward and picked me up. In a reflex action, my hands went upto his neck.

Our eyes met for once, but he quickly averted his gaze.

When he was climbing, I looked at the stairs that were decorated beautifully with white ballons. It looked really beautiful.

Then, I realised that we've crossed my room. He walked forward crossing his room too. I wondered where we were going. Then, he took me to the other floor.

I must say that he's really very strong. Climbing two floors that too while carrying a person isn't an easy thing.

I haven't seen this floor. He stopped in front of a room and opened it by pushing the door slightly with his leg.

As soon as we entered the room, there was a table set with different gifts and decorated with candles and balloons of golden and black shade. It also had a welcome home banner.

I smiled looking at the decorations .

"Surprise."

I was shocked when the sudden voices came. Soon Anna and Dan came forward, looking all happy and cheerful.

"Welcome home Maya . We are so happy that you are finally back. We missed you a lot." Anna said.

"Maya, I missed you a lot too. I wanted to come and visit you, but these two idiots didn't allow." Dan said.

I smiled at them and said, "It's ok Dan. We met here. No matter where you come but, you are there with me that matters the most."

"If you all the ladies are done with your talk then , can I please place Maya on the bed because I am not a robot. My hands are paining." Mr Adams said.

I felt bad for him . He carried me all the way from the living room till the second floor and here we were laughing and talking with me still resting in his arms.

Dan said, "I thought you love keeping her in your arms."

Anna said , "Dan stop teasing them. Get aside. Let Maya rest now."

"Thank you Mimi for talking on my side. Otherwise this devil would have kept me standing here till next few days." Mr Adams said and placed me carefully on the bed.

He, very carefully put the pillows behind my back and made sure that I'm comfortable.

"Who are you calling a devil? I am not a devil. You are the one who had forbidden me from visiting her at hospital." Dan shouted at Mr. Adams.

"Everyone knows here that you are a devil in this house. I am a very sweet person. And as far as not allowing you to come to the hospital, contact your dearest husband for that. I am not responsible for that thing." Mr. Adams said.

"Oh Please, just keep quite both of you. You two are literally married right now . You are all grown ups and fighting like this in front of Maya, do you think that's a good thing? Stop shouting at each other right this moment. Let that kid have rest."

Anna said and stopped their fighting. These two are literally kids.

They fight like they are some 5 year old children.

"How did you like the decorations Maya?" Dan asked excitedly.

"Thank you so much for this Dan. I really liked it a lot. I did not expect such beautiful welcome . Thank you." I told her honestly.

"Oh no need to thank me for this. All this is done by this husband of yours.

Honestly, after a fight, I don't want to praise him.

But , he is the one who did all this thing from the hospital itself. It was his idea. Even I liked that very much. It's really beautiful." Dan told me.

I was shocked at her statement. When I looked at Mr. Adams , he was looking at Dan, as if she did something he asked her not to do.

When he looked towards me, I forgot that I wanted to say thanks to him.

The moment his eyes meet mine, I forget everything.

"This is not everything Maya. I have got gifts for you, like a lots of gifts .

But, you are tired right now. We will open them afterwards."

"Thank you so much Dan. Even though, there was no need of them , it really means alot to me." I told her.

"Enough with the chit chatting. You need to have rest right now Maya." Mr. Adams said but it kind of looked like he ordered me .

"And why don't we just go and talk outside Dan. I have something to clear with you." He said and Dan looked scared .

I think she's gonna get a good scolding.

They went outside leaving me alone. I took a moment to analyse the room . It was much bigger than my previous room. It was almost same construction. Two doors, which I assume one leads to the washroom and the other one to the closet. It had a open balcony and it was huge. Probably double the size of my previous room's balcony. It looked more beautiful with all the balloons.

After sometime Lucas, Dan and Mr. Adams came to the room.

Lucas and Dan came to me.

Lucas ran his hand over my head and said, " I'll keep on visiting you everyday. Make sure to have proper rest and take all the medicines on time. And if by any chance Xavier gives any sort of trouble to you, call me even if it's midnight. I'll kick his ass and teach him proper lesson." He said laughing.

"Hey ! You are my best friend. You are not supposed to talk that way." Mr. Adams said scrunching his nose.

"Look baby, He is jealous of Maya. He must be thinking that she stole his best friend." Dan said and all of us laughed except Mr. Adams.

"I think you forgot the troubles that you gave me when the thing came to your sister. Now, I am the same protective brother that you were at the time of Dan. " Lucas said.

Instead of being annoyed by Lucas, Mr. Adams had a smile on his face.

"Even I'll keep on visiting you regularly. And if there's anything you would need, just call me once. And take proper rest today. Tomorrow, when I'll come, we'll open all the gifts that I bought for you ." Dan said.

Both of them hugged me , being careful not to hurt my injury.

They both hugged Mr. Adams and left for their home.

Now, it was just me and Mr. Adams in the room. We both looked at each other.

It looked like he wanted to say something.

"You want to say something?" I asked him.

"Yes. Sorry for changing your room without asking you. Actually, neither you would have liked to be in my room, nor I could have left you alone in your room. So, I made the arrangements here, on Dan's floor. This room has all the things that were in your previous. It's even more big than that. It would be comfortable for you here with the open balcony and the view." He said.

"It's okay." I replied. I didn't know what to say anything else than this.

"I know you don't like to be with me in the same room, but I can't leave you alone at least till you're completely fine. I promise that I'll not trouble you. " He said.

"It's okay. Who's around me and who's not, doesn't matter to me anymore." I said. His face fell down listening to my reply.

But, this is the reality now. I don't care about anything now. I just have to stay here for the six months and then, I'll buy my own house and leave from here.

I was busy in my thoughts, when few servants came with a huge couch. They kept it in the room and took away the other. I didn't understand anything about the couch.

Mr. Adams was arranging his clothes in the closet when his voice came from inside.

"Ahhh!" He shouted.

I quickly tried to get up but, couldn't. This was the first time when I felt helpless.

"What happened Mr. Adams ? Is everything alright? Mr. Adams?" I asked him panicked after hearing his voice.

He came out with his hand over his head.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Nothing much. I was arranging my clothes in the closet. A hanger just striked my head when I tried to take it out. " He said whining in pain.

"Show me." I said and he came near me.

"I can see a red mark near the bandaid. Thank God that it didn't hit the bandaid. " I told him.

Xavier's pov:

My head was really close to her face with just a distance of inches between us. Her hand was on my forehead and she was trying to see if that hanger hit my injury. It was the first time she touched me, though in reflex.

When she realised our closeness, she created a distance among us.

"If you don't mind, can I ask you something?" She said.

"Yeah. Sure."

"What happened to your head?" She asked.

I didn't know what to reply to this question. If I tell her the truth, she would get upset with Daisy.

"I fell in the bathroom."

"Oh. Which bathroom?" She asked again.

"The washroom in my room."

"As far as I remember, you were completely fine when we had that argument. And, I saw this injury when I woke up. This means that you must have come home , when I was unconscious."

"Yeah." I replied looking away from her.

"But, Lucas and Liam both told me that you had not come home. You entered the mansion with me only today." She said.

"Is she Sherlock Holmes or what?" I thought to myself.

"Sorry, I didn't hear you." She said.

"No. Nothing."

"Why are you lying?" She asked me looking straight in the eye.

"I'm not. You shouldn't stress yourself. Take a nap. " I told her.

"Oh yeah! I must not be worthy of talking to you. You're right. I shouldn't disturb you."

"No Maya. This isn't the matter. I don't think of you that way." I told her.

She just kept looking at me. I know that if I have get her trust, then I can't lie to her anymore.

"Daisy did this. Just don't be upset with her. It's between us." I told her.

"You're lying, aren't you?" She asked.

"I'm not lying. This is the truth. I didn't want to tell you this because it would just stress you unnecessarily."

"And Lucas?" She asked.

"Daisy."

"What happened?" She asked me looking shocked.

I then, told her about everything that happened in Liam's cabin. She kept quite listening to this.

"What did you do to her?" She asked looking at me.

"Huh?"

Tears pricked in her eyes.

"What did you do to my Daisy? You did something to her, right? That's why she didn't come to visit me from the last two days."

I was shocked listening to her. I knew that she doesn't think good of me. But, she thinks me as a monster. She really thought that I would harm Daisy?

I took out my phone and dialled Daisy. I kept the phone on speaker.

"Hey Xavier. What's up? " She asked chirping in her sweet voice.

"Are you busy ?" I asked her. I didn't want to disturb her and her patients for my problems.

"Just took a break. I'm free till next 30 mins. What's the matter?" She asked.

"Here Maya wants to talk to you." I forwarded the phone to Maya and went from the room dejected.

I went to my room and lit a cigarette. As soon as it's effect started, I felt better.

Does she think so bad of me? Am I really that bad?

I kept on thinking the same thing, till my cigarette packet was finished.

I don't smoke regularly. I do that when I'm under a lot of stress. I looked at the watch. It was 12.30 pn.

Oh shit! In my cigarettes , I forgot that Maya needs to have lunch by 1.

I quickly went downstairs and told the chef to make Maya's lunch. In next 20 mins, it was ready.

I took the lunch and went to her room.

Mimi was there with her. They were laughing at something. I knocked the door and entered.

"Mimi, this is her lunch. Make sure she eats everything." I told her and went to the side table. I took out her medicines' box and cut every pill that needed to be given to her before and after her lunch.

"Give her these pills before she eats and these after her lunch. And nothing should be eaten till next 2 hours. " I gave the pills and explained her everything.

"Why don't you stay here Xav?"

"I have a meeting." I said and left from there.

Not even for once , I looked at Maya. Not that I was happy with that, but she proved that she doesn't appreciate my presence. Her thoughts regarding me proved everything.
