Xavier's pov:

When I came to the office, I got busy with the continuous meetings and work. Being a boss has it own pros and cons. The meetings and your stress can together take your life.

Finally, the day ended. I sat in the car to go to the mansion , that's when the thought crossed my mind, that today there's someone else at my house too.

Then , I remembered how badly I shouted at her and said her things I shouldn't have in the morning. But , I don't think that was my fault. No one in this world dares to cross me but here she was giving me 'Attitude'.

But , I must say that she is beautiful and innocent and pretty and silent and elegant and much more. I didn't realise when a smile formed on my face.

I should keep in mind that Beauty Is Always Deceiving.

I was lost in my thoughts when driver informed me, " We've reached Sir." I went to my floor. Before I could enter my room , I heard some noises . It felt like someone was puking. The voice was coming from the guest room.

Maya's pov:

After lunch, I went straight to my room and slept. When I woke up , it was 7 in the evening. I got up and saw that there was a letter kept on the side table.

"Just wanted to inform you dear that I'm going in the city for some work . Thought to inform you but you were sleeping peacefully. So, not wanting to disturb you , I thought of writing you this . 😊

Its your house. You are free to use anything in the house. I have kept the fruits and juices in the fridge, just in case you'll be hungry. I'll be late. Have dinner and sleep well , Darling ❤️ - Anna"

I smiled seeing the letter. She is a real amazing person.

I got up from the bed and freshened up. Then, I took my book that I was reading when I was at home and went towards the balcony. I sat on the swinging chair and began reading the book.

After reading 2-3 pages, I started to feel uneasy. My stomach was paining in an absurd way. I was feeling the need to puke. I quickly went inside the washroom and puked. Again after sometime, I puked and this continued happening. Even Anna wasn't at home and I don't know anyone else here . So, I chose to stay in my room itself.

I was puking again when I felt a presence beside me. Mr. Adams. I was way too tired to be embarrassed at this moment. Instead on caring about him seeing me in this state, I focused on myself.

I felt him patting my back and comforting me. Washing my hands and my face, I used the mouth freshener to get rid of the smell . He guided me towards the bed and handed me a glass of water. The very next moment, I was puking again. I came out after sometime, only to see him talking on phone . I didn't want to listen to him but his voice reached my ears.

"I don't know dude . What if she's pregnant with any bastard's child? I swear I'll destroy Mr. Jones for giving this burden over to me. I'm not going to raise a bastard.....Okay . I'll do that .... Thanks for the help man. I'll call you later. Good night."

Xavier's pov:

I was confused about what was happening to Maya. As far as I know , one mostly pukes when she is pregnant. I got tensed at that thought and called Lucas. He always gives solutions to my problems. He suggested me to call the doctor first and not come to any conclusions by myself. As soon as I turned, I saw Maya looking at me with tears filled in her eyes. I don't know why, but my heart sank as if I broke something precious.

I went near her and said , " I think you've heard me. But , I didn't mean to question your character. I just couldn't think of anything else. Just tell me you aren't pregnant or are you?"

She looked at me for a second and said , "I don't know."

" Wait! I'll just call the doctor and everything will be cleared."

I went towards the balcony of her room and called Liam. He was my classmate in high school. We weren't best of friends but yes, we were always in each other's good books. I told him the situation and asked him to come.

I stayed with her in her room till Liam came. He came straight to her room .

" Hey man! " I smiled and shared a side hug as soon as I saw him.

" So, who's she ? " He asked smirking.

"That's not important right now Liam. Just see what's wrong with her for now."

He nodded smiling and asked me to wait outside.

After sometime Liam came and said, " Xavier, I need to talk to you .

" Yup. What's the matter ? Tell me that she isn't pregnant. " I asked hoping for the good.

" No , she isn't pregnant."I sighed in relief.

" But there's something else you need to know. Not here. Come let's go downstairs."

I wondered what it could be. I went downstairs with him after closing the door of Maya's room silently.

Maya's pov:

Doctor asked Mr. Adams to wait outside and he closed the door. For a second, I got scared , but soon he started talking.

" Hey girl! I am Liam. Xavier's friend and a doctor by profession. He called me to check you..." .

That's when I interrupted him," to check if I am pregnant. "

" Don't stress yourself right now . He didn't mean whatever he said. You know whenever someone sees a girl puking , the first assumption he makes is that she might be pregnant . Even doctors think that. He just said the thing that just crossed his mind first. Just let me check you first. "

I lied down on my back and he took up the stethoscope.

" Have you missed your periods."

" No"

" From when are you feeling uneasy?"

" From today evening ."

" After checking you and looking at you I don't think you are pregnant. But, let's not take the chance. Use this pregnancy kit . You can check here in the washroom for now . Then , we can conduct other tests."He said handing over the kit to me .

That's when I feel irritated.

" For god's sake, I am a virgin and a virgin cannot be pregnant." I shouted.

He was stunned for a second and said, " Listen I am very sorry but being a doctor, I thought to check you first. But after listening you, I don't think that there's any need of that."

That's when I realised what I said just now.

" Please don't tell him about anything."

He understood and nodded.

Then he looked down for a second as if a thought just crossed his mind.

" From when have you not eaten anything ? "

I got shocked that how could he guess that. I looked at him wide eyed. I guess he understood my shock.

" We doctors are very good at catching lies. So don't.

We have been going through all such cases since our school days . So after all this, I can easily guess that you have not eaten anything for the last two to three days . Suddenly, today you ate a lot. Am I right ?"

I nodded and then he asked me everything about last two days.

I told thim ," I had a disagreement with my parents day before yesterday. I didn't eat anything from that day. But, I ate two chocolates and a cup of coffee. Nothing else than that . Today also, I was in no mood to eat this much but then Anna insisted a lot and feed me." I told him every detail .

He looked at me shocked and said," That's very unhealthy of you . You shouldn't have done that . Eating nothing straight for two and half days and then eating everything at once is reason of your condition. Your body somehow started to get the habit of surviving on very less food and then suddenly eating so much made your tummy take summersaults."

He said laughing. I smiled at that sentence. He prescribed me certain medicines and looked at me for a second .

" I don't know what's your relationship with Xavier but I know that for sure that you are a nice girl. I would honestly suggest you to talk to someone about what's happening in your life and if by any chance you feel the need to talk to me this is my card. You can call me anytime. I'll be there. I won't care how busy I may be. Take care! I need to leave now. I'll give the prescription of medicines to Xavier. Take those on time and I'll even give your diet chart to him . " He patted my cheek and went after closing the door silently.

I smiled at his nature. He was so good to me . Not like that Mr. Rude Mr. Adams . I kept on thinking how my mood of eating nothing cause me so many problems.

Xavier's pov:

Liam and I sat on the couch in the living room and he looked at me . I know that face. He was asking answers .

" Being a doctor and my friend and most importantly looking at my condition right now, I think I need to tell you everything. I know what you are thinking man . First of all don't freak out . You might be wondering who she is? She is my wife . We got married today morning . It wasn't very big of a ceremony and it isn't a love marriage. Its just a deal . We haven't talked much and whatever we talked in the morning , I just shouted at her. We had an argument. So, we both are kind of distant to each other, if that's what you have been thinking." I told him everything.

He looked at me stand for a second and then he said ," I know your nature . If you don't get things as per your wish, you just forcefully take them. I don't know what happened between you two but, I definitely know that she must not be at the fault when you shouted at her."

I looked at him wide eyed and wondered if he is my friend or hers.

" Don't look at me like that. Just listen to me first . Being a doctor, that was always my passion but you even know that psychology was something that interested me a lot . "

I kept looking at him. I know his interest for psychology.

"Even though studying medicine and surgeries , was what I did from the start . But, in my free time, I used to read the books regarding human psychology, listen to my friends talking about it and try to know more about it. Even though, I am not a professional at it, but I can do the minimum. I think today my reading and my knowledge came to use.

With whatever I know, I can say that she isn't mentally well . I'm not coming to any conclusions. I just wanted to tell you that she need someone she can talk to. So, behave like a friend with her , talk to her and see what she does and just inform me about her progress.

And as far as the thing of her puking is considered , she hasn't eaten a single bit of solid food from the last two and a half days. I don't know what happened but she told me this. And today, when Anna insisted her to eat so much and seeing her nature, I know that she couldn't say no to Anna. So, she ate a lot and that's why the system of her body and digestion got disturbed. Having no food intake for the last two and half days and suddenly taking in so much food is what caused imbalance in the body . Having no food for such a long period of time is really very unhealthy. Make sure it doesn't happen again. You just go and talk to her. But not right now. She isn't in a good place. Let this matter slide. Let her get well and then talk to her about what happened."

I nodded understanding everything he said.

"And please I know people. I can tell by looking at a person or talking with him if he is good or bad. I won't tell you what to do and what not to do. That's upto you . Just talk to her and look what happens. Okay? I have a surgery pending. I need to leave."

" Being such a big surgeon isn't an easy job . Still whenever I call you, you come here the very next moment. Thank you so much for that ."

"That's not needed man. That's what friends are for . I should leave now."

He left after giving the prescription and the diet chart to me.

I gave the prescription to the house help and asked him to bring the medicine. I was lost in my thoughts of whatever Liam just said. The servant brought the medicines and till then even the food that was to be given to Maya was ready. I took the medicines and the food in a tray and went in her room.
