《Billionaire's Disastrous Kiss》Chapter 6

I knocked on the door but no response. I knocked again.
"You can go inside" I turned as Daniel spoke next to me.
"Okay" I hesitantly opened the door and walked in.
I was inside a large room with a leather couch in the middle and a coal black bookcase lining the entire left hand wall. In it were rows and rows of books about business and on either sides of it were two large plants protruding from it's marble pots.
At the front was a silver table with a laptop and a glass desk sign that read Ian's name and his position. Everything in here was neatly placed and for some reason I felt frightened. As I should be duh!
I trailed my eyes upward and saw Ian Kingston, standing in front of the glass wall, staring at the city below him.
I swallowed anxiously and slowly walked forward, stopping at the front of his desk.
"Hailey Evans, isn't it?" He asked with his cold steel voice.
"Yes, Mr. Kingston" I wiped my clammy hands on my pants and tried my best to sound normal.
"It seems I have made a mistake" He said reluctantly. "But you-" He turned. "without correcting it, used it for your own benefit" His voice came out as an insult and I felt deeply offended.
"Sir I-"
"Did I tell you to speak Miss Evans?" He raised a brow and I clamped my mouth shut.
"You made another person lose their job" He took several steps towards me. "You were selfish, arrogant and inconsiderate. Am I right, Miss Evans?
Hearing his insults, I took a sharp intake of breath to control myself from clawing at his face.
"Mr. Kingston" I forced a smile to my lips. "May I say a few words before you fire me?"
He leaned against his table and folded his arms across his chest. "Go on"
"You. Fucking. Asshole!" I bursted out and the corners of his lips twitched up into a smile.

"You egotistical self centered piece of shit! How dare you accuse me of being selfish, arrogant and inconsiderate?" I strode forward and jabbed my finger on his chest. "You of all people"
Without getting irked by my words his smile widened and that only made my blood boil faster.
"You're the one who makes people lose their jobs. You cause it. And you think you are a saint Ian Kingston?" I asked through gritted teeth.
"Egotistical and self centered are synonymous" He answered.
I wrinkled my nose. "What?"
"They are synonyms"
"What does it have to do with anything?"
"There's no fun cussing in similar words" He smirked. "Say something else"
I blinked. Is he insane? "Okay. Umm you-you" I stuttered, searching for words. "Son of a bastard"
Ian laughed. "You mean, son of a bitch?"
"I don't want to curse your mother"
"Oh you'll want to in the future"
I frowned. What does that even mean?
I shook it off and continued.
"Anyways, before you called I was halfway through writing my resignation letter. So I'm not a selfish, arrogant and an inconsiderate person like you said. I'm much much much better" I pointed out. "And right now I have to go and finish it. So I'll leave" I turned around. "Bye! See you in hell"
"I'm not done, Miss Evans"
I spun around. "What is it that you want?"
He smirked. "Oh Miss Evans I want a lot of things but right now I want you to stay"
"What?" I asked in confusion.
He straighted up and tucked his hands inside his pockets. "I'm not firing you. You can keep your job"
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Why?"
"Are you questioning me when you should be thankful?"
Again I inhaled deeply and mentally counted to ten to calm myself. "I mean why are you making an exception?"
He pursed his lips, thinking hard. "Well I don't want to make an exception just because you're pretty but for different reasons, I have to"

Did he just call me pretty? I quickly ignored it and continued. "I'm feeling very very suspicious right now"
"You should"
"Mr. Kingston" I breathed. "The speed at which my blood is boiling right now- I could go to a hospital"
He chuckled. "You're very funny Miss Evans" He stepped forward. "But I still haven't forgotten what you did. You deceived me. You defied me" He leaned in until our noses were almost touching. I forgot to breath for a moment, my heart accelerating. His gaze flickered over to my lips and then back to my eyes. A smirk slowly curled in his lips. "And there will be consequences"
My eyes widened and he smiled."You're dismissed"
...
"That son of a bitch!" I cursed out as we walked through the parking lot.
"I thought you don't curse mothers" Lexi said in surprise.
"He said I'll want to in the future. So I'm practicing"
"What does that even mean?" Brian cried out.
"I don't know okay?" I threw my hands up. "Nothing he said made sense"
"Well the good thing is you don't have to hide anymore" Lexi nudged my elbow. "And you can keep your job"
"Plus" Brian jumped in. "Mr. Kingston spoke to you. That means he considers you as important"
"I rather be trash than be important to him"
"But if you-"
"Miss Benson" We turned as someone called Lexi.
It was Daniel Collins. He strode towards us and glared at Lexi. "Did you threaten one of our staff to give you the CEO's schedule?"
Lexi's jaw dropped in shock. "Threaten? Is that what she told you?"
Daniel stayed silent, waiting impatiently for Lexi's answer.
She scoffed. "I can't believe it. I asked her, well-" She paused. "Not in a nice way but that doesn't equal to being threatened"
"So you did?" Daniel raised a brow. "You asked for something that you're not supposed to have?"
"We asked it for survival" Lexi whined and I could see Daniel's face getting red with anger.
"Give it back" He demanded.
Lexi muttered a curse under her breath and took her notebook out, in which she had clipped the schedule.
Daniel grabbed it and flipped through the pages. He read the part that had 'tips on how to avoid the Kingston' and I was positive I would die out of embarrassment if he goes and tell it to his boss.
"Miss Evans" I looked up as he called me.
He was reading the paragraph where Lexi wrote, 'avoid going into any event where the CEO would be present'.
"You must attend every event where your attendance is required" He stated firmly.
"What if I do not?" I asked in a challenging tone.
"If you do not-" He closed the book. "there will be consequences"
"Oh my god, you too?" I threw my head back in annoyance. "Uhh I already heard it from one guy. I don't need his minion repeating it"
Daniel scowled at the word minion and I felt guilty for talking so thoughtlessly.
"Oh sorry. I didn't mean to offend" But my apology only deepened his scowl.
He took a deep breath. "Miss Evans, as I said you must attend every event where you attendance is required. And the company anniversary party, it's a must that everyone attend" He narrowed his eyes. "Including you" He paused and said in a more demanding tone. "Specially you"
Then he turned on his heels and walked back the way he came in.
"Specially me?" I frowned. "Why is that? Does Ian Kingston want to show me his fiancé and prove that he also can be human once in a while?"
"I don't know" Lexi shook her head. "But I have a feeling something bad is going to happen"

8 271The Hazards of Skinny Dipping
This isn't a deep book about first loves or self-discovery. If you want a book like that, I'd be happy to recommend one, but I don't have that kind of story to tell. Instead my story is about rash decisions and finding out that your dream guy is bad in bed. It's the story of when I finally went skinny dipping, and how my life was never the same again. Oh, and it's also the story of my freshman year of college and realizing Mr. Right might have been there all along.
