《Her Revenge》28

"Mr De Luca" Enzo turned his head to see who it was, turning me in the process since we were holding hands. I'm sure he did all that so that I don't get lost or...disobey him.
"Mr and Mrs Costa" Enzo nodded his head in acknowledgement. I watched as the old couple smile, showing their teeth. They were old but certainly didn't look so.
Both of them looked as if they were only in their late forties. The woman was short compared to the man who was tall but not taller than Enzo.
The two couples who I now knew as Mr and Mrs Costa turned their heads in my direction. Mr Costa owned the biggest liquor industry in the country while his wife was a renowned fashion designer, like my mother. I knew all about them.
They have three children, two sons and a daughter. Their twenty four year old daughter was a model while their sons- well one was around twenty six and the other one was still sixteen so he's studying. The twenty six year old one took over the company.
"And you are?" Mrs Costa asked me with a sweet smile on her face.
"Lea White" I returned the smile, extending my hand for her to shake, "It's a pleasure to meet you both."
She pushed my hands away and pulled me for a hug which took me by surprise.
"The pleasure is all ours" Mr Costa chuckled at his wife's behavior.
"I'm Miranda." She introduced herself, with a smile. Does she always smile?
"And I'm Domenico but you can call me Dominic, Nic, Nico or Dom." He smiled while I ignored the list of nicknames he gave me.
Mr Costa is just fine.
It's not like I'm ever going to see him again after today, anyway.

"So she's the one, huh?" Miranda asked Enzo who shrugged before placing his hand on my lower back. "I guess we'll just have to wait and see."
I didn't know that we were playing the 'couple'. He didn't tell me shit. Why didn't he tell me? Don't I deserve to know? Well he's in deep shit—
"How long have you two been dating?" Domenico asked, as he poured four glasses of wine. It was only then did I realise that we were near the small bar.
He handed one glass to be and one to Enzo before taking one for himself then he gave one to his wife.
"About four months now." Enzo replied as he leaned closer to me and placed a kiss on my right cheek.
Miranda and Domenico smiled before Miranda asked, "How did you two meet?"
Wanting to irritated Enzo, I replied quickly before he could. "Funny story. The moment he laid his eyes on me, he was...let's say whipped. He would follow me everywhere, buy unnecessary things for me...until he begged me to give him a chance so I did."
I smirked when I saw his eyes widen slightly. His grip tightened on my waist, before he spoke, "Very funny...indeed."
Miranda and Domenico smirked before Domenico said, "Who would've thought that the big bad mafia boss would be whipped? I wouldn't blame him though. You are incredibly beautiful, Lea."
Miranda nudged her husband's arm playfully. Domenico wrapped his arms around her, pulling her closer to him than she already was and said, "Not more than you are to my eyes, darling."
Miranda blushed making him chuckle. I glanced at Enzo and at the couple in front of me who were busy kissing each other - not at all ashamed.

"Baby, sweetheart, love, darling, honey, Can I speak to you for a second?" I asked sweetly. He shot me an amused look, probably because of all the names I just called him. Then he nodded and I dragged him away.
Well, he is my boyfriend, isn't he?
"What is with all those names?" He asked the moment we were in a corner of the yacht.
I shrugged, "Well you're my boyfriend aren't you?" He rolled his eyes, "I'm here because I need them to partner up with me for the betterment of my company but they refused saying that I'm single and alone. So I came here to show them...that I'm not."
"So, in short, you're using me." I scoffed. He sighed but nodded his head nonetheless. "You could have taken someone else. Why me?"
"Like Arabella said I couldn't take just anyone."
"You could have taken...what is her name again? Briana? Brinda?" I asked, not able to remind her name.
"Bianca" He corrected and I nodded, "Right."
"I couldn't. She slept with their eldest son and they know it." He replied calmly.
"Why is Arabella and the others not here though?" He didn't tell me why they didn't come which got me curious.
"Arabella's husband, Paulo, is sick so she stayed to take care of him. Antonio and Blake went with my parents to my cousin's birthday party. Dominic and Dante weren't invited." He replied, staring at the sea.
"When are we leaving?" I stared at the sea along with him. It was calm and peaceful.
He shrugged, "When we are done eating, I guess."

We were on our way back to his mansion. It was already dark. I was staring out of the window when he spoke, "Thank you."
Did he just thank me? He literally thanked me? But wait- for what?
"For?"
"For playing along, I guess. And sorry for your neck." He said. So he did notice that I covered the marks he left when he strangled me with makeup...good, good.
I wanted to say that I've received worst but I wasn't going to say that. He would ask questions and I won't have answers. So I simply shrugged, "It's alright."
The rest of the ride was silent. We weren't even halfway to the mansion when we stated hearing gunshots.
We both glanced out of the window and saw at least three cars following us.
"Fuck" both of us said at the same time before looking at each other. Are we, by any chance, getting the same ideas?
I actually hated losing the cars when they follow me. I don't run away from problems, I face them. So, that's why, instead of letting the car chase me until I loose them, I take them down one by one.
Seems like Enzo had the same tactics as mine. We might get along just fine, after all.
