Berkley woke up to the sound of knocking at her bedroom door. She blinked her eyes and looked around, suddenly realizing she was completely naked, and so was Dean, who was still wrapped around her sound asleep. And someone was at her door. She gasped and started to panic. If her Dad caught Dean naked in her bed he might just kill him.

"Dean!" she whisper shouted, shaking his arm. "Get up and get dressed. Someone's at my door."

He groaned and slowly sat up with a case of bed head, his dark blue eyes looked around the room before they settled onto hers and realization finally struck him when there was another knock and his eyes widened when he realized they were both naked. They both jumped out of bed and rushed around the room gathering up their clothes, accidentally bumping their heads together with a groan and a curse before he pulled on his boxer shorts and then his pants while she grabbed a shirt and threw it on.

"Coming!" she called out breathlessly as she hopped on one leg, pulling on her jeans and buttoning them.

She opened the door out of breath with her heart pounding and saw her brother Keagan standing there. His eyes widened as he took in the sight in front of him, a shirtless Dean with bedhead and Berkley with her hair all over. She looked down and realized her shirt was on backwards and inside out, and she couldn't help but laugh awkwardly.

He raised an eyebrow, looking back and forth between them and said, "I just came up to let you know Dad's making breakfast. You two lovebirds take your time and come down when you're presentable," he laughed, shaking his head with a smile as he walked away.

Berkley's face was bright red as she closed the door and she turned around to see Dean with an amused grin on his face.

"It's not funny," she said, smacking his arm with a smile. "I about had a heart attack." He reached out and pulled her against him, leaning in to give her a soft kiss.

"So are we ready to make the announcement? That you and I are officially a couple?" he asked.

She smiled and said, "Yeah. How do you think everybody will react?"

"I don't know. I'm just hoping your Dad won't want to kill me. He knows how I was with women but I hope he'll understand that I'm not like that anymore. Being with you changed me," he said with a nervous sigh, running a hand through his hair. "I guess we'll find out in about 5 minutes if I live or die."

They both got dressed and brushed their teeth before he slipped his hand into hers and whispered, "Ready?" before bending down and giving her a kiss. She nodded and then they silently made their way downstairs.

They came around the corner to see Dean's parents were at the breakfast table too, along with her Dad, brother and his fiance Hallie. Everyone turned to look at them and then looked at their joined hands.

"Mom, Dad. I didn't know you guys were coming over for breakfast," Dean said surprised.

His Dad looked over at his wife and smiled before looking at Dean saying, "Well we noticed you didn't come home last night and your Mom said she had a feeling we'd find you here. Turns out she was right."

Dean cleared his throat and said, "Well it's actually a good thing you're here because we have an announcement to make." He looked down at Berkley and a smile slowly crept across her face and she nodded to encourage him to keep going. He looked back up at them and said, "Berkley and I are officially a couple. I asked her last night to be my girlfriend and she said yes."

His Mom gasped and covered her mouth with her hands and her eyes started to water. She got up and came around the table and hugged Berkley so tight, and then she hugged her son.

"Oh I'm so happy," she said, blinking back the tears and sniffling.

His Mom had always been a second Mom to Berkley so she wasn't surprised at how happy she was. She couldn't help but think that's probably how her own Mom would have reacted too if she was here. She always loved Dean.

Berkley watched as her Dad walked up to Dean slowly with a straight face, coming up to him nose to nose with no hint of a smile. Her Dad was a big intimidating guy so she held her breath to see what he was going to do. To her surprise he wrapped his arms around him and gave Dean a tight hug patting his back. Dean's eyes widened with surprise as he lifted his arms and patted her Dad's back too.

Her Dad stepped back and his eyes were red and watery. "I always knew this day would come. I'm happy for you both."

Berkley let out a sigh of relief and a smile came across her face.

Everyone else lined up and gave them hugs and congratulated them and Berkley had never seen all of them look so happy. You would've thought they told them they won the $36 million dollar jackpot or something.

She looked over at Dean and he looked so happy too. She really felt like she did win the jackpot with him.

He smiled at her and said, "I always knew this day would come too," and he bent down and kissed her softly before pulling her into a hug.

"Do you, Dean Bradshaw, take Berkley Lansing to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?"

Dean was holding her hands in his and looking into her eyes. She noticed his eyes were starting to water and he said, "I do."

That made her bottom lip start to tremble and she bit on it, blinking her eyes to hold back the tears but one ran down her cheek anyway. He lifted his hand, cupping her cheek and wiping the tear away with his thumb. He smiled softly as he looked down into her eyes with so much love and adoration and she could see his eyes were red and watery too.

"Do you Berkley Lansing take Dean Bradshaw to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, as long as you both shall live?"

Her voice trembled and she choked out the words, "I do."

Her Maid of Honor Ember leaned forward and handed her a Kleenex with a proud smile on her face. Her old college roommate (and now best friend) was the entire reason her and Dean got together in the first place so it only made sense for her to be the Maid of Honor. She had admitted she only gave her the advice to sleep with Dean because she wanted to play matchmaker and she could tell they both had feelings for each other that neither was admitting to.

Berkley dabbed her tears and looked over at Dean's Mom who was crying too. She just wished her Mom could've been here for this. Her Dad said her Mom always somehow knew that her and Dean were going to get married one day. She was sure she was watching down on them right now smiling.

"By the power vested in me by the state of Massachusetts, I now pronounce you husband and wife," the preacher said and the entire church full of people erupted with claps and cheers. "Now you may kiss your bride."

Dean leaned forward slowly and her stomach did a flip as he slid a hand around her neck and leaned in close, his lips hovering over hers, close enough to feel his breath on them as he softly whispered so only she could hear, "I'm yours and only yours forever," and then he pressed his lips to hers and she melted, feeling her legs go weak.

He pulled back and laid his forehead against hers and exhaled, closing his eyes and she closed her eyes too and whispered, "I'm yours and only yours forever too."

He leaned down and kissed her softly one more time before slipping his hand into hers as they turned and looked out at their friends and family. They started making their way down the aisle and the audience whistled, cheered and clapped with huge smiles on their faces.

After they made their way through the doors and entered the empty hallway, Dean pulled her close and whispered in her ear, "Did you stop taking your birth control? We have a few babies to make on this honeymoon."

She laughed and smacked his chest. "I think one will be plenty."

"For now," he grinned, pulling in at her waist and giving her a kiss that made her toes curl and her insides flutter. She melted into his kiss and felt like the luckiest woman in the world to be Dean Bradshaw's wife, her best friend for the rest of her life.

Sophomore year of college, Berkley put in a transfer request and was accepted this time to Yale so her and Dean were able to go there together and he was able to attend his dream school with her by his side.

They ended up having four children together, three little girls that looked like him and a little boy that looked like her. They made it an annual tradition to return to the beach house every year over Labor Day Weekend, just the two of them so they could re-enact their first time over and over again.

With the help of her psychologist Berkley was able to eventually stop having night terrors. To help her and the family have closure they held a memorial service for her Mom where they took a boat out to the exact coordinates where their ship sank and they each told their favorite memory of her Mom before throwing a lily (her favorite flower) into the ocean. Berkley was crying so hard, Dean had to help hold her up, but after the Memorial and having a hard cry she did feel slightly better. It was just really hard to say goodbye.

The fishing boat company that their Dad's owned together ended up being left to Dean and Berkley and her brother after they retired and it turned into a huge thriving business that supplied fishing boats and fish for most of the east coast.

Zander ended up becoming the highest decorated member of the Eastern Coast Guard for how many lives he saved. He never did marry or have any children. He liked to joke around that he was married to his work, but he did end up sleeping with a lot of the women he rescued and then bragged about it to everyone in his Coast Guard unit afterwards.

In the end her and Dean had a strong, solid marriage and they kept to their promise to always stay best friends no matter what happened. Even after so many years passed he still gave her butterflies in her stomach every time they kissed and they constantly said how much they loved each other. They also never lost that fire and no matter how busy they both got they still found time to make love almost every day, sometimes more than once. Like he said, he never could get enough of her.
