《The Boy with the Beautiful Name》Miami 11

The group left the VIP lounge and headed farther down the dark hallway. Another set of security guards stood at the end of the hall.
Sara noticed different colorful signs taped onto the concrete wall.
One of the signs had a large black arrow on it with the words, Christopher Columbus.
Erin whispered into Sara's ear. "That's the code name for Trevor's uncle tonight," she said.
Trevor approached the guards. "Hey, Vince. I want to say hi to my uncle," Trevor said, grinning at the security guard and his team.
"Yo, Trevor. What's up, man? It's almost lockdown," the guard said. He gave Trevor a fist pump.
"We won't be long," Trevor said.
The guard knocked on the closed door behind him.
A woman with a loud crackling walkie talkie poked her head out the door.
The guard said something to her that Sara couldn't hear. The woman nodded and pushed the door open farther for the group. "You better hurry, Trevor. The show's going to start up soon."
"Thanks, Patty." Trevor gestured for everyone to follow him inside.
The first room marked 'Make Up,' was empty. The second room they walked through was 'Photography.' That room was also empty.
They finally found the band in one of the far back rooms that had a million different costumes on hangers in it. There were various pieces of instrumental equipment laying around the room, too, along with boxes of miscellaneous odds and ends. The place was actually somewhat of a mess.
The band sat in chairs in a circle, chatting together. Around them was a camera crew that kept snapping pictures. The band members all wore black, glittery costumes.
"JACK!" Trevor yelled.
A man in his mid-twenties smiled a gap-toothed grin at Trevor. "Dude! What happened? You were supposed to be here over an hour ago."

Trevor hugged him before checking his watch. "What? I thought we agreed to a quarter to eight?"
Erin rolled her eyes at Sara. "Never gets old," she said laughing.
Sara, along with everyone else, shook each of the band members' hands. The men looked like they'd stepped out of the seventies with their scraggly beards and lazy smiles.
The boys talked with Jack and his band the most. Erin and Sara kept to the side, politely listening.
"It's time," the woman with the walkie talkie called around the now-crowded room.
"Come, pray with us," Jack said. He and his bandmates stood up from their chairs.
The band did a quick prayer and ended it with a loud, "We're gonna ROCK!"
Jack thumped his fist on the back of his chair. He kissed a pretty girl who Sara guessed was his girlfriend before he headed out with his band into the hall.
The woman with the walkie-talkies moved aside so a team of photographers could take more pictures.
Sara noticed the camera men kept snapping pictures of her nurse costume, too.
The band members entered another door down the hall. This new room looked similar to the room they'd just left. It was piled with boxes and costumes. And there were a ton of people in it. Mostly staff for the event.
Sara watched as the band waved to everyone and headed up a small staircase.
"What room is this?" Dan asked Trevor as his red vampire eyes followed Jack's band up the stairs.
"This room is referred to as The Underworld. It's right beneath the stage." Trevor stepped out of the way so a man carrying several stacks of boxes could get past him. "This is where all of the costume changes and make up fixes occur between songs."

Sara picked up a water bottle off the floor and set it down on a table. She didn't want anyone to trip on it.
"And how does the band get from here, back again to the stage?" Chad asked. He poked the parrot on his shoulder. "Do they fly?"
Trevor pointed to the stairs. "They go that way, or they use the toaster."
"Toaster?" Erin asked, smoothing out her red costume dress.
Bentley chuckled. It seemed he already knew all of these things.
"It's how rock stars appear in the center of a stage and then get lowered down again," Trevor said. "Very cool, very high-tech stuff."
"You can wait here if you'd like," the woman with the walkie-talkies said. "But if you want to go out and enjoy the show, you can go through that passage there." She pointed to a flap along the side of the wall.
The group ducked under the flap...and found themselves in the ENORMOUS theater.
Just as they started to head down the narrow space between the rows of seats and the stage, the lights went out.
There must have been tens of thousands of people in the audience. Sara could barely see them with their glow in the dark sticks and blinking cell phones.
"CAN YOU HEAR ME?" Sara heard Jack call over the speakers.
At the sound of his voice, every single person in the crowd began to scream at the top of their lungs. It was a deafening roar.
What looked like actual fireworks shot out around the center of the stage.
A digital screen blinked off and on with a video of Jack and his band soaring through space in a rocket ship.
The ship crashed landed on Earth, sending a loud blast echoing throughout the massive room. Smoke from hidden smoke machines floated up from the floor.
From the center of the stage, AN ACTUAL rocket ship rose into the air. And Jack's band was right on top of it.
"WHAT'S UP, MIAMI?!" Jack yelled, raising his arms high above his head.
