《The Boy with the Beautiful Name》Miami 6

Erin's phone rang, momentarily distracting Sara from the blonde girl.
"Pamela! What's going on, Chica?" Erin said happily. She pushed the button to speaker.
"Hey! How are you girls? How's Miami?" Pam asked.
Sara leaned closer to Erin's phone. "It's really hot here, Pam. But sooo beautiful. Wish you could be here with us."
She heard a dog bark in the background.
"Oh, believe me. I would love to be in Miami with you girls. I'm at the dog park with Bentley's four huskies. His dogs keep trying to beat up this little old lady's toy poodle."
Erin rolled back on her beach chair and started to laugh. "Four to one aren't very good odds," she said.
Pam whistled loudly. "Grumpy, NO. Bad dog! Hang on a second. He's gonna bite off that poodle's head."
They listened to Pam jog across the dog park and clap her hands to separate the fighting dogs.
"Okay, all good now. At least for the moment," Pam said, giggling. "So what's happened so far on the trip? How was the plane ride?"
Erin looked at Sara.
"It's been literally WILD, Pam. Bentley's plane was sicker than SICK," Erin said.
She quickly recounted everything that had happened in the brief time they'd spent in Miami.
Sara's eyes wandered back over to where Bentley was still talking to the mysterious blonde. She saw he'd removed his sunglasses. His eyes were literally sparkling and he kept bursting out laughing at what the girl was saying.
Who IS she? Sara thought unhappily. She felt pangs of jealousy. Bentley was all smiles talking to the blonde.
Erin tapped her arm. "Listen to this," she said, cracking up.
Sara pulled her eyes away from Bentley and the blonde and focused back on the call.
"Patrick wants to go to NYU with me," Pam said. "He's thinking about us being a long term thing. And he actually hinted about marriage after we both graduate from college!"
Pam's voice had gone up at least two octaves to a near squeak.
"Oh, wow. That's great," Sara said, somewhat absently.
"Jeeezus," Erin said. She looked at Sara, removing her sunglasses. After a quick glance around she pulled Sara in closer.
"Trevor told me again he loved me," Erin whispered into the phone.
Pam squealed again. "What did you say this time?"
Erin shrugged. "I told him what I said last time. It was still too soon for me."

Pam snorted. "Oh, COME ON, Erin."
Erin waved her hands in the air. "I know, I KNOW! But really, come on. We haven't even been a couple for a year yet. I need time."
"That's fair," Sara said. She adjusted the sunglasses Bentley had given her. Her eyes panned back over towards the volleyball net. The blonde was now playing volleyball with Bentley and a few others.
"How's Kurt, Sara?" Pam asked. "Has he called yet?"
Sara sighed. "Not yet. He had some Columbia athletic event this weekend."
"That's okay. He's got a lot going on probably. It's super cute he likes you so much. I mean, think of all the college girls he sees," Pam said.
Erin lifted an eyebrow. "I still don't like him," she grumbled.
Sara laughed. "Kurt's not so bad. His mood swings aren't nearly what Bentley's are."
"True. Okay, well I better go. The huskies are going after a pug now and the pug's owner looks like a cop," Pam said.
"Have fun with Patrick at the grill tonight!" Erin called into the phone.
"I will!" Pam said happily.
Erin ended the call. "It's like really, really hot out here. Wanna go for a dip in the water?"
"Sure," Sara said.
The girls took a quick swim and then headed back to their lounge chairs.
"Say, who's that talking to my boyfriend?" Erin asked.
Sara picked up her towel and started to dry off. She saw Erin was pointing to the blonde girl.
Sure enough, the blonde was now chatting up a storm with Trevor and the soccer players.
She didn't see Bentley anywhere.
"Let's go. I need to find out," Erin snapped. She grabbed Sara's wrist and dragged her across the sand towards the volleyball net.
"Trevor!" Erin yelled. She gave him a pleasant smile that was laced with suspicion.
Trevor's head snapped towards the sound of her voice. "Hey!" he said waving.
The willowy blonde turned around to face them.
Sara inhaled her breath. The girl was stunning.
She saw Erin's face morph from irritation to intimidated shock.
"Oh, hello! I'm Lindsey!" the blonde said. She had chin length icy blonde hair and the bluest eyes Sara had ever seen. It was like staring up at the sky through two bright skylights.
Lindsey held out her hand.
Erin and Sara quietly shook hers.
Lindsey's hands were extremely well manicured. She had long hot pink nails.

As Sara looked harder, it actually looked like the blonde's nails had diamonds on the icy white tips.
Who WAS this girl?
She wore a skimpy hot pink bikini and diamond studded necklace with a giant emerald in the center.
"I'm Sara," Sara said softly.
"Erin. I'm his girlfriend," she said pointedly, nodding in Trevor's direction.
"Lovely to meet you," Lindsey said pleasantly.
Chad stepped forward, his eyes dancing. "Do you guys know who this is? Lindsey's engaged to Rocky Harding. He's gonna be 007 in the next James Bond movie!"
Erin and Sara gasped in unison. Everybody knew Rocky Harding.
"That's amazing. Congratulations," Erin said. She looked relieved.
Lindsey tipped back her pretty head and let out a sweet little laugh. "Thank you so much. I'm SO lucky."
Erin grabbed Lindsey's hand. "HOLY CRAP. THAT'S GIGANTIC!"
Sara studied the engagement ring on Lindsey's finger. It was really something. It looked to be around 20-carats. Now that was a pricey ring.
Sara studied the blonde and realized she did look familiar. "I think you might be in some of my fashion magazines. You're a model, right?" Sara asked.
Lindsey nodded. "That's right. I'm here for a shoot. Going to be on the cover of Famous People. I can't wait!"
"That's amazing," Sara said. Then it hit her. "You're Lindsey Pearl, aren't you? You're a supermodel for Secret Angels, right?"
Lindsey nodded. "You got it. Runways are my life. And don't even get me started on how much preparation goes into getting catwalk ready!"
The supermodel laughed. "But...I guess it was all worth it." She gazed happily at her enormous pink engagement ring.
"So how do you know Bentley?" Sara asked. She was more curious than anything else.
Lindsey laughed again.
Sara noticed that Dan, Chad, and Trevor were all staring at Lindsey. They were in a literal trance with silly smiles plastered on their faces.
"Prince and I go waaay back. We used to go out." She gazed up at the sky, lost in thought.
"Why'd you guys break up?" Erin asked. She had NO shame.
Lindsey put on heart-shaped pink sunglasses. She looked like a living Barbie doll. But Sara, as much as she really wanted to, couldn't hate her. She was too beautiful and too happy. And very much engaged.
"He and I were just a thing. It wasn't serious. We both knew it wasn't going anywhere. I moved to Los Angeles for modeling and we sort of lost touch." She adjusted the strap of her bikini, causing the boys to nearly faint beside her.
"Prince says he's seeing someone now. Think her name is Ella?" Lindsey smiled. "He didn't mention he had so many pretty friends." She winked at Sara and Erin.
"Erin's mine," Trevor said, coming out of his trance. He flung an arm around Erin's shoulders.
"All right there, Trev," Erin said giggling.
"How long does your shoot last? You should come to my uncle's concert tonight. Jack Lake," Trevor said.
"And it's fine if you want to just go in your bikini. No one will mind," Dan joked, though he looked really hopeful.
Lindsey laughed again. "Aw, I would if I could. But I have salon appointments tonight to get ready for my shoot. I'm sure the concert will be wonderful. And that's awesome Jack Lake is your uncle. Think a few of his songs were in some of Rocky's other films."
Trevor nodded, looking proud. "Yeah, my Uncle Jack had three big hits in the films Boys Fight For Blood and True Identity."
"Marvelous," Lindsey said, clapping her hands. Her phone suddenly rang across the sand. "That's probably my agent calling about the shoot. Gotta run. Lovely meeting you all! Have a wonderful time at the concert." She paused briefly. "And HAPPY HALLOWEEN!" She went to go answer her phone.
"I'm in love," Chad said watching Lindsey head away from the beach.
"Ditto, bro," Dan said. "Let's go get some souvenirs. Miami has got a crap load of shops along Ocean Drive."
Sara gazed around the beach. "Have you guys seen Bentley?"
Dan pulled on a baseball hat. "He had to head out. Said he'd meet up with us later."
"Oh," Sara said. For some reason, she felt disappointed.
"Good news, though," Chad said as he grabbed his towel and threw on a long-sleeved shirt. "We have hours until we have to be anywhere. Let's go eat. Then let's be tourists!"
Sara pulled on a bright yellow sundress from her beach bag.
Erin donned a flowy rainbow shirt and jean shorts.
The group wandered up the streets briefly, finally stopping at a cute restaurant on the beach. They ordered hot dogs and nachos followed by a round of whipped cream strawberry milkshakes.
Afterwards, the boys browsed sleek surf boards at the shops along Ocean Drive.
Sara and Erin found cute gifts for their friends back home, including a fuchsia shirt for Pam that read, "Let there be light" with a picture of a sun wearing sunglasses.
As Erin and Sara strolled back along Ocean Drive to meet up with the boys, Sara spotted a television screen flickering inside one of the beach bars.
"Oh my gosh, Erin. LOOK!" Sara said, pointing.

Memoirs of A Healer/Clinical Social Worker: Autobiography of Bruce Whealton
A loving spouse. A healer. How does this person cope with evil villains willing to destroy everything? They convicted the victim... now how does the victim goes on with life as a healer? As the book opens, I was in a psychiatric hospital following a suicide attempt in December 2019. What starts as a simple conversation with another patient changed my life. Most of the rest of the book tells the reader how I got to this point. I experienced profound injustice between 2004 and 2006. By opening with a story about suicide, I want the reader to understand that the injustice was not just something that happened long ago. This book is an account of all the accomplishments and successes that I had in overcoming tremendous odds and challenges. Growing up, I was paralyzed by shyness and lacked social skills, and so the idea of becoming a psychotherapist never occurred to me when I went off to college. I learned that I could overcome those limitations. I wanted to bring that hope and healing to others. Activities like that make life meaningful and bring me joy. The reasons why I was suicidal in 2019 were set in motion in 2000 when a meteor would come crashing down upon the life that I had built leaving me powerless to do anything other than watching everything burn to ashes - the home that I had, the life I had known, the love I had, my career, everything would disappear almost as if it never existed. In that one the year 2000, I could not imagine things could get any worse. But the nightmare would continue for the next few years... culminating in a suicide attempt in 2019. Now, I am connecting with others, building relationships, and finding a reason to live again. I am writing my own story of my life. I will fight against the injustice of the past and offer my gifts to the world. I have so much to offer. I have quite a story to tell. I hope you will help me to move on with my life.
