《The Boy with the Beautiful Name》Double Date 3

The front gate was wide open before they reached it. Clearly, whatever powered the gate was hooked up to a sensor in Bentley's car.

Without even blinking, he sped right on past the gate to continue down around the zig-zag driveway.

"Check this out!" he yelled. He pulled his hands off the wheel.

The sports car swerved sideways. Its tires screeched against the pavement as it slid itself, perpendicular, along the driveway. With a jerk, it came to a sudden, exhilarating stop.

Her heart pounding, Sara slowly pried her hands off the edges of her chair. Her fingers hurt from trying to hold on to it so tightly. She was pretty convinced that, based on the way Bentley drove, the tires of this car would have been worn to smithereens by now if they weren't the best money could buy.

"Yee-haw!" Bentley said, clapping his hands. He tugged at the collar of his tux to loosen it. "Man, what a ride!" he breathed.

She gave him her most accusatory look. "I can't imagine you drive like that all the time, right?" she asked.

He shrugged. "Not always. Only on special occasions." He winked at her. "Tell me that wasn't fun," he said.

Sara kept her expression neutral. She did not want him to think she'd actually enjoyed that experience.

Well, maybe she did? But only a tiny, little bit.

Bentley laughed at her silence. He turned his attention back to his car. "Wolf, you're a wild thang," he said, as his seatbelt unbuckled itself.

Sara's seatbelt automatically unbuckled, too.

"Passenger is very attractive," the car's robotic voice declared.

Bentley actually blushed. He made a strange grunting noise and punched the button on the dashboard to shut off the car.

"Ignore Wolf. He's a beast," he muttered.

The car's engine rumbled back to life. "Remember how you told me she made you feel--"

"WOLF!" Bentley laughed. "I'm warning you!" He slammed his shoulder into the door. It swung open on impact.

Sara had to cover her mouth with her hand.

Oh my gosh, how hysterical!!! He was having an actual fight with his car!

Bentley jogged over to her side of the car. He seemed to be in a really good mood.

When her car door opened, he took her hand, and helped her step out onto the driveway.

She stood nervously in her heels. The breeze whispered softly against her gold-colored gown.

She was about to say something, when she noticed Bentley's eyes were on her dress. She saw his smile had faded. His expression was stony again. He ran a hand over his face, and, clearing his throat, offered her his arm.

They walked in silence towards the house.

She saw Kurt's Porsche was parked way to the side of the driveway.

Poor car, she thought, thinking about how Bentley had tweaked it.

As the front doors of the house slid open, Sara anxiously scanned the foyer.

"Can I say 'hi' to Erna and Jay?" she asked. She tried not to focus on how hard Bentley's arm muscle felt beneath her hand.

Bentley shook his head. "It's better they stay hidden. At least while there's company," he said softly.

Sara frowned. It's not as if she wasn't company. Why could he show her the androids but not anyone else?

Voices echoed from the kitchen.

As Sara and Bentley rounded the corner, she saw Kurt and Ella chatting together at the table.

And then she saw something else.

Four extremely excited Siberian Huskies were crouched low to the ground. Their backs were arched, preparing to leap directly onto her!
