《The Boy with the Beautiful Name》Dog Park

"Come on, Trash! Move it!" She pulled at the golden retriever's collar. The poor dog was still whimpering inside the car.

She grabbed him around his middle and managed to drag him out of the Hummer. He flopped down on the grass. He continued to whimper.

Sara knocked on the Hummer's window again. The glass slid down.

"Thanks so much for driving me here. Tell Bentley I said 'Thank you!'" She patted its metal side.

The Hummer beeped its horn in response. Its tires squealed as it wheeled back around in a one-eighty, and tore out of the parking lot.

Trash appeared to return to normal once the strange car was out of sight. His ears perked up as he saw he was by one of his favorite places, The Red Connecticut Family Dog Park.

He leaped to his four feet and began to bark wildly. "That's right, Trash. Look where we are. And to think you'd been so nervous in that car."

As soon as they were inside the fence, Sara unbuckled Trash's leash. The dog took off at top speed to play with the other dogs.

And the first dogs he found were four very familiar Siberian Huskies. The dogs growled and rolled together as all dogs do. But then the four huskies raised their heads. They all looked over at Sara at the same time. And came racing over to her.

"Hey, guys!" she said. The four dogs' tails thumped excitedly as each fought for Sara's attention. She tried to pet all of them at once, but it was almost impossible.

"I know, I know! I just saw you guys. But yeah, I thought, why not come say 'hi!'" She rubbed all the dogs' ears, including Trash's, since he had gotten jealous, and then the dogs took off running to chase one another around the large park.

"HEY, SARA!"

Sara waved. "PAM!" she squealed.

She ran and hugged her friend. Pam's red curls glowed in the bright sunshine.

"Oh my gosh, Sara. Those dogs are CRA-ZZZZY." She burst out laughing.

"I can believe it," Sara told her.

Pam looped her arm with Sara's. "That assistant called me this morning. She told me the dogs would be brought here." Pam tugged off her baseball cap and tucked it away in her backpack. "After the dogs are done playing here, they're supposed to go for a walk around the town for a bit. Oh, and I have to buy them their favorite treats at Pop's Pet Store."

She and Sara shared a laugh. Pop's was run by a very cool little old man. He had ten dogs of his own, all rescues. His pet store sold almost every kind of dog toy or treat.

Pam found them seats on a nearby bench.

The four huskies were now wrestling Trash to the ground.

A brave Dalmatian trotted over to join the group of excited dogs. He was quickly pinned down by Trash and one of the other huskies.

"Guess what he named his dogs," Pam said. She waved a hand in the air. "Never mind. It's hilarious. He named them after four of the dwarves from Disney! Can you believe it?"

Sara forced a laugh. "I actually already knew that," she confessed.

Pam's eyes lit up. "Wait, really? Oh, that's right! You and Erin went to Trevor's house party. So...how was it?"

"It was actually held at Bentley's house, not Trevor's." Sara broke into an outrageous smile.

Pam snorted. She pulled out a candy bar from her back pack and took a bite. "Wow, the party was that good, huh?"

Sara nodded. "Yeah, it was um, pretty spectacular." If only she could tell Pam everything. But she had promised Bentley. Not that she really owed him anything. Well, he had lent her his self-driving car.

"Well, I have some news of my own," Pam said mysteriously.

Sara raised her eyebrow. "Okay, you first then," she said.

Pam ducked her head to her chest, giggling.

"Oh, come on. Out with it," Sara said. She gave her friend a playful punch.

"Fine, fine!" Pam said. "You know how I had to work at the grill last night..." She handed Sara a candy bar.

Sara bit into it as she waited for Pam to continue.

"Well, it turns out, the new guy and I sort of hit it off."

Sara shoved her. "Spill!" she hissed.
