Sara whirled around. "DAD!" she screamed.

Mr. Smith stood directly behind her. He had a huge grin on his face. "Your mother mentioned there was a nice-looking young man at the door. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about."

Sara groaned and stepped around her father. "There's nothing to see now, Dad. He's long gone."

Mr. Smith loosened his tie. He'd rolled up the sleeves of his collared button-down shirt. As President of Smith Advertising, Mr. Smith oversaw a team of over fifty full-time employees and another fifty remote freelancers. He was short and stout like a teapot. To everyone at his firm, he was 'The Boss' and a force to be reckoned with. Not to mention, he often lost his temper, especially when he dealt with international billing issues.

But the absolute worst thing about Mr. Smith being in command of over one hundred people, was that everyone had to laugh at his jokes. That, of course, made him believe he was actually funny. He wasn't!

"So how do you know this boy?" Mr. Smith asked. He followed Sara back to the dining room.

Sara slumped down into the overstuffed, 80's-style chair beside the grandfather clock. "He goes to my school. I don't want to talk about it." She took a sip of milk in an effort to change the subject.

Mr. Smith, however, was not taking 'No' for an answer. "Do you like this boy?"

Sara choked on her milk. "Of course NOT! He's with Ella Woods." Sara rarely lied to her parents. But this was sort of a white lie. She knew she wasn't completely in love with the boy with the beautiful name. Only a little bit in love with him. That counted, right?

Mrs. Smith poured a bottle of Pinot Noir into her wine glass. "He was very cute, Walter. You should have seen his dimples." Mrs. Smith sipped her drink and stared at Sara with a knowing look.

Sara sunk lower into her chair. This was SO unbelievable! She loved her parents, but ever since Charles had left for college, her mother and father had begun to question her every move, including the people she spent time with. She wished Charles were here now. He was always so talkative -- the perfect parent distraction.

"What's his name?" Mr. Smith asked his wife. He knew he wasn't going to get any more answers from Sara.

Mrs. Smith put down her fork from her filet mignon. "I believe he said 'Bentley'. Though I didn't catch his last name." She wiped her mouth with her napkin. "But you would have loooved his car, Walter. It was a Bentley. Just like his name!" She scooted her chair closer to the table, getting more excited as she spoke. "The car was one of those new concepts from the auto show." Mrs. Smith laughed and sipped her wine again. Her cheeks began to look rosy.

Mr. Smith spit out his drink. "Excuse me? A high school boy is driving a brand new Bentley Hunaudieres? And he can afford that?"

Sara took another sip of her milk. "Why, Dad? How much does it cost?" She guessed about a hundred grand. Most of the nice cars in the area were expensive. Even her parents had pricey cars. But they bought them solely to impress their snobby clients. Unfortunately, Sara was nowhere near prepared for her father's answer to her question.

"Well..." Mr. Smith said slowly. "If he has the type of car I think he has, it's worth well-over a million.
