《The Boy with the Beautiful Name》Trevor

Trevor jabbed his pencil eraser into Sara's arm. "Come on. Say you missed me," he teased.

Sara raised an eyebrow. "How many days were you gone again? I forgot."

He frowned. "Don't you remember? I told you last Wednesday. I would be away three whole days."

Sara tucked her hair behind her ear. "Well, uh, nice to see you again." She looked warily at the end of his pencil, afraid he might do something else with it like hit her in the head. He was that obnoxious.

It was unfortunate Trevor was actually a smart kid. Otherwise she could have avoided him in AP.

Trevor's hand moved to touch hers. "Aren't you going to ask me where I was?"

Sara tried as kindly and as discreetly as possible to move her hand away from his. "Where were you Trevor?" she asked automatically. Not that she really cared.

Before Trevor could reply, he caught sight of Bentley, who was now seated oh so casually beside Ella. She wore a skin tight, bright yellow dress that was probably taken right off the NY fashion week runway for Gucci. "Check it out. Fresh meat," Trevor snickered.

He balled up a piece of paper and flung it at Bentley's head. He missed completely. The paper ball landed closer to Ella's chair. Yet, to Sara's disbelief, Bentley somehow saw the crumpled ball and retrieved it with the heel of his boat shoe.

At that moment, a Trig teacher poked her head into the room. "Hello, everyone. Dr. Frost said she's running behind schedule in a meeting. She asked that you start reading Ch. 5 now and do the assignment in the back of the book. She should be back in fifteen minutes."

After the teacher left, Bentley flung the wadded paper ball back to Trevor. It hit Trevor hard in the face.

"Eww," Trevor whined. He rubbed his forehead. "Why was that paper wet?" he called, obviously annoyed by Bentley's audacity.

Bentley leaned back in his chair. He grinned flirtatiously at Ella in her exceedingly low cut dress. "I licked it, then returned it back to you, Trevor." Bentley now gave Trevor an icy stare.

Sara could almost feel Trevor pulsing with rage. The two boys only just met and they were already fighting?

Trevor wiped the spit smear off his forehead. Sara wanted to ask Trevor for the piece of paper if Bentley had really licked it. But she decided that would be too desperate. And besides, she didn't want Bentley Prince anymore. If he had found his perfect little girlfriend, then he could have her. And that was fine with Sara.

"Who are you and how do you know who I am?" Trevor asked, his anger apparent.

Bentley tilted his gorgeous head to the side. "Let's just say I've done my homework. Have you done yours?"

Trevor made a disgusted face. "Hey, Ella. I don't like your new boyfriend. Can you return him to the flea market where you found him?"

Sara ducked her head and pinched her nose to keep from exploding into a fit of laughter. The rest of the class thought it was a riot.

But Bentley seemed unfazed.

Ella gave Bentley's cheek a quick peck.

It made Sara almost puke on her desk.

"For your information, Trevor," Ella said, fluffing her beautiful, silky hair across her shoulders. "My new boyfriend (Sara almost puked again at those words) is from South Fortland. Your Uncle Jack, in fact, is a regular performer at his yearly summer beach bashes. I'm sure you'll recall last year's Rock the Wave party that featured only artists in the top 20 billboards?"

From the corner of her eye, Sara watched as Trevor paled. It seemed his brain was working on overload to first size up Bentley's superior good looks--which annoyed him to no end-- and also that Bentley and his family were distinguished members of all things elite.

"What did you say your name was?" Trevor asked.

"I didn't. It's Bentley Prince."

For some reason, Trevor seemed to know that name. Instead of retaliating, his face broke into an embarrassed smile. "Oh yeah. Cool. I'll get you tix to my Uncle Jack's next gig. They're supposed to be performing in Miami Beach."

Trevor reached over and tugged Sara's arm. "Say you'll go with me, Sara Sweet?" Trevor cooed.

Sara glanced at Bentley who was now whispering something probably wonderful into Ella's ear.

A free trip to Miami Beach and Bentley would be there? Check and check.

"Sure. I'll go," she said. More like go into battle for Bentley, that is, she thought wistfully. Oh well. Guess she couldn't get over him that fast.
