《My Best Friend's Brother》Hello, Emilie

Liam stands at my front door as I go inside. He has his arms crossed and disappointment painted on his face.
"I'm sorry."
He cut his eyes in my direction, "For what exactly?"
"I shouldn't have went over there."
His eyes stayed on me as he shifted his feet, moving his weight to the other side of the door frame, "Let me see your phone?"
I hesitate, but hand him my phone. He unlocks it and turns his back to me, "Liam, what are you doing."
He places the phone up to his ear, "Yeah, this is Liam. I need to talk to you. Can you come to Emilie's house?"
"Um excuse me."
"Just get here as soon as you can." He locked my phone and handed it back to me. Then he pulled his phone out and pressed it against his ear again.
"How is she?......Will you call me when she wakes up?....I love you too, Mom." He returns his phone to his back pocket, and steps past me into my house.
Making himself comfortable, he takes a seat on the couch.
"Who did you invite to my house?"
He crossed one ankle over the other, propped on the coffee table, "A mutual buddy. But she will be here soon, so if we are going to make out we should probably get started."
He wraps his arms around the back of my legs and pulls me down on the couch. He kisses my cheek, and tries to tickle me under my arms, but I fight it away.
"I thought you were mad at me."
He pushes my hair behind my ear and looks into my eyes, "It's really hard to stay mad at you."
I shrug, "It's because of my magical powers."
He shook his head, "No, it's because I love you."
My cheeks go red and my hands naturally move to hide them, but he pulls them away, and uses my arms to pull me closer.

"Guess what."
"What?"
He touched his nose to mine, "We don't have to hide anymore."
A smile crept across my face, "Are you sure that your reputation can handle being with a dweeb like me?"
He laughs and pushes his lips to mine, "A sexy dweeb like you? Hell yeah it can."
I look at my phone screen, "How much time do you think we have?"
He smirked, "Enough."
We were well into a deep make out session when the doorbell rang. Liam pulled away from me and ran his fingers through his hair. I swung my legs over him to go open the door.
As I opened the door, Charlotte Jameson stood on my front porch.
"Hello, Emilie."
"Hey....come on in." I opened the door all the way, allowing her to enter. She immediately took a seat beside Liam who was holding one of the couch pillows across his lap.
I close the front door and sit on the loveseat across from the couch.
"How is Sarah?"
Liam nods his head, "She is doing better, thanks for asking."
Charlotte crosses her legs, "So what was so important that I had to drive over here ASAP?"
Liam put his chin on his fist that was propped by his elbow on his knee, "I need a favor from you... a huge favor."
Charlotte crosses her arms across her chest and leans back, "And what would that be?"
Liam handed her his phone, "I need you to call Jett and get him to meet you."
She pushed the phone away, "Hell no. I am not talking to that dick."
Liam closed his eyes and took a deep breath, "Please, it's important."
Charlotte looked over at me, I sent her a pleading look. She took the phone from Liam, "This probably won't work, he knows that I hate him."

Liam put his hand on her knee, "Then be a really good actress, please."
Charlotte dialed out the number by memory, and it rang. She held the phone out on speaker.
"Hello?"
"Jett, it's me...Charlie..."
The phone sat in silence for almost a full minute.
"Are you there?"
He answers, "Yeah, what do you want?"
Charlotte rolled her eyes, "I miss you, and I really want to see you."
"I call bull shit."
Charlotte looked up and Liam and shrugged. Liam mouthed, "Try harder."
She rolled her eyes again, "Please, Jett. Can I just meet you somewhere.. just for a few minutes."
"Whose number is this?"
Charlotte darted her eyes to Liam, he motioned his hands in a circle. She quickly answered, "I got a new number."
Silence.
"Fine. Meet me at the Diner in like an hour."
She hung up and threw the phone at Liam, "What exactly do you expect me to do?"
He stood up and held his hand out to help me up, "I will go over the plan in the car."
Liam and I sit in the parking lot of the diner as we watch Charlotte wait by the flashing open sign. It had been well over an hour since the phone call had taken place.
Liam's mom has called twice since we had left my house. Sarah was awake and starting to eat.
"Maybe we should just go to the hospital and talk to Sarah."
Liam shook his head, "We are sticking with the plan, then we can go ask her."
Two hours had passed since the phone call. Charlotte knocked on Liams window and rolled it down, "He's not coming."
I could see anger and disappointment on his face, "Let's go see her."
Charlotte took her place in the backseat and we left the diner in the rear view mirror.
Liam's mom was struggling to stay awake in the chair in the corner of the waiting room when we arrived.
"Stay here, I am going to go talk to Sarah."
I grabbed his hand, "Why can't I come with you?"
He grazed my cheek, "Someone needs to be here with my mom, and I don't think Sarah needs to see us together just yet. Let me handle this one."
He leaned over and left a kiss on the tip of my nose. Charlotte pulled a dollars out of her pocket and shoved it into the vending machine.
"You have the right idea, I'm starving." I open my purse and put out a handful of loose change.
"I know that you two are looking for this reasoning as to why Sarah has the drugs in her blood... and I hate to be the one to say it-"
"Then don't." I shrugged.
Charlotte leaned against the vending machine, "Emilie, she bought them... she probably uses."
I shook my head, "Sarah doesn't use drugs."
"Maybe she didn't.... but maybe she does now." Charlotte reaches her hand to my arm.
Mrs. White shifted in her seat and slowly opened her eyes, "Emilie, honey, when did you get here."
I took the seat beside her, "Not long ago. Liam went in to see her. Can I get you anything?"
She smiled softly and pat my hand, "No, honey, but thank you," she stood up and wrapped her Shaw around her arms, "I am going to go find a cup of coffee."
Mrs. White disappeared down the hall. My phone began to ring, an unknown number:
"Hello?"
"Hello,Emilie."

I wasn't ever going to belong to Bodin. I wasn't his for the taking!Bodin Charters had been my friend since we were kids. Painfully shy and uncomfortable in crowds.I was always the outgoing one. Willing to fight and shout for what I wanted. But Bodin wanted something now. Me. I had told him he'd not have me countless times over the years. I was waiting for a man who wrote me sonnets and climbed walls to sneak into my chambers.Bodin would never do any of that. He didn't have an unpredictable bone in his body...Until he did.My father was ill and had been for a long time. I didn't know Bodin, who'd inherited the Charter's fortune and property, had persuaded my father to make me his ward upon his deathbed. Now my father is gone. And Bodin is stating I can't be his ward because it'd be improper. I must become his wife. I won't.But as his ward, he has law over me. Law where he can make me do things I don't want to do.And he keeps reminding me, he'll have more sway over me as my husband so I best start learning to obey him.The devil I will.Unfortunately, I'm finding Bodin is a far more clever devil then I expected...

He'd never met someone so kind and friendly, and he didn't know why it made him feel a certain way. He hated it. Hated he couldn't get away from it. Couldn't get away from her. No matter who or what was in the room, his eyes would always find hers, and he'd never settle not knowing where she was. She'd never met someone so cocky and self-centred as him. She hated the way she didn't think he paid attention to her. She hated the way he was the only boy who made her feel something she had never felt before - the presence of a strong man in her life, someone who could guide her. She hated the way he made her feel like the luckiest girl in the world and she wouldn't feel bad for it. Their eyes would always find each other's, no matter the circumstance. If it was a stupid fight, a disagreement, or just simply being away from each other, they'd always feel drawn to one another. But with all their hopes and dreams, comes the difficulties and reality of their lives. Not everything is as perfect as they may seemed.___"Willow, come back!" I heard the frantic voice of my boyfriend as he called for me. But I decided to ignore him and head straight to my favourite shop.Today was Black Friday which meant everything was hell of a lot cheaper, (it also meant I wasn't wasting any time and getting first dibs on everything I saw)."Didn't you hear me calling for you?" Theo clamped his hands down on my shoulders and spun me around, his dark hair falling over his green eyes as he panted. I could feel a smirk break out on my face as he huffed."Whatever. Just next time tell me you're going to start running so I can win. You made me look silly." He rolled his eyes like a child and I snorted, peppering his reddened cheeks with kisses to which he softened up by."I'm sorry." I said in a teasing tone and before I knew it, he was lifting up my chin with his finger and planting a firm but tender kiss down onto my lips. "I love you."

Despite everything I am just a forgotten memory for you, left alone in the darkness thinking about what is love ? The answer I got is that love is bullshit. Too much fake love makes you hate love.
