Chapter 51:
Everything was settled after a week and two days, I finally managed to get Landon to go home and actually take care of himself, instead of worrying about me so much. I love him but who wanted to get kissed by someone that smells? Not I, so he had to go.
"Can they hurry up and discharge or whatever the heck they do." Marie said, growing impatient, like she was the one in the accident.
"You hush and wait." My mom tells her, causing me to laugh, and a death glare was sent my way delivered by Marie.
"I'm tired." I commented, after awhile of waiting. I didn't say I was growing impatient either.
"Just a few more minutes and you'll be released honey, besides Landon isn't back."
'What does he have to do with me trying to go to sleep?' I just nodded my head, deciding not to ask and letting it be a careless thought.
"I need more pills." I sigh, rubbing my head trying to calm my throbbing brain if possible.
"They just gave you some." Marie said.
"Yes and?" I itched at my side. "Can he hurry up please I'm getting uncomfortable."
"Is someone getting impatient?" My mother and sister mock and grimacing while pulling my face into a tight forced smile, I turned away from them.
"Is this the pregnant hormones?" I hear my sister whisper to my mom, even though she's standing right next to me.
"It may be, I wonder if she's craving anything."
"You know I'm standing right next to you guys right?"
"I didn't know you were glass either." Marie snaps back.
Breathe in and out. Just breathe in and out.
I glare at her, deciding not to fight back. For someone that was in the hospital, she still had an attitude of a bull seeing red.
I feel arms wrap around me from behind and I tilt my head up , looking up to see Landon. "What did I miss?"
"I almost choked my sister today." I say, smiling up at him.
"Oh please, you wouldn't win." She added in.
"You remember last time what happened." I reminded her, looking back to her. My sister and I have a weird relationship, one minute we like each other and five minutes later, we are down each other's throats.
"Be nice." Landon suggested, while giving me a gentle squeeze before releasing me from his hold.
"Can we just go?" I ask, leaning back into him and he supports me.
"The nurse needs to come."
"I thought we were only waiting on Landon?"
"Yeah Embre, like we can just walk out." Marie chimes in.
"You know what?-"
"Alright." My mother shushes us as our Doctor walked in.
"And what are you doing standing up?" She asked me, putting a little pep in her step while walking over to Landon and I.
"I'm fine really." I reassure her.
"Okay let me just check over you again." I step out of Landon's arms, and she guides me over to the bed, running through the list of what she needed to check: Arms, Legs, Senses, and most importantly my little girl that was still, thankfully, growing inside of me.
"Okay, just go the front and your free to go, feel free to change your clothes in that bathroom over there, I'll walk you guys up to the front when you're ready okay?"
"Thank you."
We reach the front desk, after I change into just a plain shirt and some jeans with some sandals, thanks to Marie, and Landon grabs some prescription pills I have to take every day for the next 1-2 months and I had a hoot supporting my leg.

We all walked outside but a hand other than Landons caught mine and I turned to see my mothers frightened face. "Please drive safe."
"We will." I reassured her.
"Landon make sure you look both ways, seat belts too, watch the speed limits-" She rushes out, but Landon stops her.
"I'll be careful. I promise." The earnest in his tone made my mother nod her head, she felt reassured.
"You better be, I don't need you both in the hospital again," She addressed me. "Especially this baby."
"Yes mom." She gives me a kiss on the cheek, and steps away and my dad comes to hug me as well. My sister, even though she's so stuck up, came and gave me a hug and I hugged her back- of course pinching her side as she retreated back earning a slap to my wrist playfully.
"Okay now off you two go." My mom waved us away like more gray hairs were forming in her head as she grew tired of us.
I tried to walk on my own but Landon wouldn't budge as if I was a broken toy that needed to be fixed."Landon, I can walk you know." I tell him and he looks down at me nervously but he tried to muster a smile as if telling me a hilarious joke.
"I know I'm just being a great boyfriend."
"Fiancé." I correct him.
Wow that sounded so weird coming from me.
"I like the sound of that." He kisses the side of my head.
"Me too."
We reach the car and he opens my door, and I stand there perplexed that he wasn't going to make sure I sat down properly. "Oh so your not going to help me into the car?" I tease and he chuckled.
"Do you really need my assistance for that?" I shrug, before slipping into the car. "Much better."
"Whatever."
Closing the door, it took him a good ten seconds to go around the back side of the car to his door.
"Seatbelt's." He ordered, leaving no room for the debate team, as he clicks his in place but mine decided to have its own little party and wouldn't budge, so I was busy playing tug of war with mine.
"Need help?" He asked, watching me struggle.
"Oh shut up." I tell him, but I couldn't decide if I was annoyed at the seatbelt or him.
He reaches across me, and he pushes it back into its holder before giving it a tug and it slid right across my body, and I clicked it into place. I was about to thank him but I was silenced by his lips, my eyes flutter close startled at this sudden action. I didn't realize how much I missed him until now. But I couldn't soak in. It didn't feel right. I tried to pull away but his hand found its way to into my hair pulling me back in, my headache was numbed for a bit.
"Landon." And as if something snapped inside of him, he allowed me to the catch my breath.
"Did I hurt you?" He asked, but he didn't let go of me as if I was going to disappear if he did.
Moving my left hand up to capture his hand that was tangled into my messy hair, I pulled both of our hands back down and it rested in the middle of my lap. I didn't say anything for the first minute that passed but I knew he was going to speak first so I did. "What's wrong?"

He must have known that was going to be my question and he grimaced before pulling completely away from me. "Landon-"
"I could-" He stops himself and I squeeze his hand for little support to make him continue what he was going to say, at least he was going to communicate with me. "I could have lost you." He finished his first thought. "Both of you." His hand traveling up to my stomach timidly. He doesn't look at me, his eyes focused on the baby growing inside of me.
He was terrified.
"Where would I have gone?"
"To heaven I hope." His laugh faded shortly, it was forced.
"That was funny."
"I'm being serious."
"Oh I know you are." I said back, when is he not?
"No Embre." He sighed, his grip on my hand tightened. "I don't think you understand.."
"Understand what?"
"I could have lost you, forever." His voice was laced with disgust. "Then what would I have done?"
"Live." He scoffed at my ignorance but I wasn't trying to be ludicrous about this topic. "Landon." I break away from him to place both of my hands on either side of his cheeks for him to look at me instead of straight ahead. "Stop thinking like this please."
"How can I not? I know I'm the reason why you were laying in that hospital bed, and I was able to move around just fine with few stretches, but you.. you could have died.. and I wouldn't have been able to deal with myself knowing I killed the love of my life."
"You wouldn't have killed me Landon, it wasn't your fault at all, it takes two to crash unless something else happens and that's what happened." I tried to reassure him.
He intakes a breath filled with doubt before he pulls my hands away from his face. "Let's just get you home, you must be tired."
"No."
"Embre." He said my name in warning, like he didn't want discuss the matter at hand and let it linger in the air.
"Don't do that." It wasn't fair to me to know he felt responsible for the accident.
"Do what?"
"This!" I exclaim, flinging my hands out in front of me dramatically, I wasn't trying to push an argument but he was pushing me.
"I'm not doing anything."
"Yes you are."
"I'm not." He denied.
"Fine, then take me home." I sagged into my seat, before I sat back realizing how uncomfortable it was becoming for me. My baby bump was starting to show.
He didn't say anything else, as he drove us home carefully. It didn't take us that long to reach the house. He parked the car in the garage and I stepped out of his car, not waiting for him to get out and I go inside.
"Wait." I heard him but I ignore it purposely, walking into the kitchen to see what's there to eat. I settled for a damn apple.
"Embre." Oh look who wants to put some emphasis on my name now?
"Yes dear?" I act nonchalant.
"Dear?" He questions my nickname for him at the moment. Rolling my eyes, I decided to walk pass him. But of course he stops me dead in my tracks, stepping in front of me.
"Okay your going to give me a headache with all this moving, so can I please just go upstairs?"
His hazel eyes bored into mine, and I watched them flicker between my own trying to read me, and taking a bite of my apple I turned ready to go sit on the couch. If he wasn't going to speak at least he could stopping looking at me like I was a bloated whale.
His hand caught my left but he didn't pull me back and I turned my body back with a nonchalant look on my face. "What Landon?" I was getting quite annoyed with all of this, does he want to talk or not?
"Look." He sighed. "I'm sorry."
"Sorry for what exactly?" I question.
"For a lot of things."
"Okay and..." I draw out, wanting him to continue on with this explanation.
He goes silent again and I step away from him, but he follows me. Three steps back would have been fine for me. He kept clouding my senses with his closeness, I was starting to believe the doctor didn't examine me right. "Excuse me." I tried to sidestep him about to head upstairs to my destination.
He pulls at my plain shirt from the back and I was about to swat it away but he caught my wrist twisting me around before mashing his lips against mine.
This kiss was filled with everything he possessed in his character: Demanding, possessive and bruising. There was no denying the tension but I couldn't..
His fingers gripped my shirt before pulling it up slightly- his fingertips grazing my side. I inhaled a sharp breath, my fingers gripping my apple in a death grip before I didn't care anymore. I craved his touch more than ever and right now.. we needed each other.
He evidently saw that I wasn't protesting against him anymore as he gave me his all. He needed this.. the reassurance that I was still with him and so I gave it to him. Wrapping my left arm, that he released, I gripped his messy hair bringing him closer to me as he continued to devour me. "I'm sorry." He murmured between kisses. "I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize." I didn't need it, what I needed was him.
My apple was completely forgotten as he picked me up in his stern grip, taking the steps two at a time.
Entering the bedroom, he put me down and I stepped away from him playfully before my heart sunk in my chest..
I really looked at him.
He looked pained, the bags underneath his eyes was just a bonus, telling me he hasn't been sleeping right. And his eyes didn't have the same glow that they use to have when I looked at him, the mischief was gone.
His stubble was pronounced, telling me he didn't have the need to take care of himself because he was dreading the outcome of me.
"Come here." I whispered out into the empty room, hoping he heard my plea. He heard me. He walked the little space to me-it seemed he would fall over due to exhaustion- into my waiting arms.
My fingers traced his back, trying to soothe his muscles that were tense and he soon relaxed into my arms. Turning his head so his chin rested on top of my head, we just held each other.
"Oh." I gasped, pulling back from him while holding my stomach.
"What's wrong?" He asked stepping closer to me, placing his hands over my own.
"Our baby." I stared down in awe, quickly grabbing his hand I place it where she had moved. "Here, feel." She didn't do it again..
"Come on baby." I urged her to do it again so I didn't seem like I was making him do something bizarre.
"Is that her head?" He questioned what I was trying to make him feel.
"I don't think so." Removing his hand from my stomach she decided to do it again. "She did it again."
"I think she misses my touch." He joked.
"Here let's see if she'll do it again." Taking his hand and placing it where she kicked.
She doesn't do anything, and I frown. Maybe she's was done for the day. Landon moves his hand across my belly, rubbing it before going back to the spot and she didn't to make her presence known.
"Did you feel that?!" I wanted to jump for joy but I wanted to make sure he felt her.
He smiled..
"I felt her.. I can't wait to meet her." He was in awe as he dropped to his knees in front of my belly. She kicked again, I don't think she likes us talking about her like she wasn't present.
"Okay I'm sorry, I can't wait to meet you." He corrects himself, talking to her.
"Come on let's get you to bed." I say, taking one of his hands in mine to make him stand up.
"Are you taking me to bed Embre?"
I decide to humor him. "Maybe I am."
"I like where this is going."
"I'm pretty sure you do, now bed." I order, snapping my finger towards the bed, it was still daytime but he needed the rest.
"Yes ma'am." He pulls the top of the covers back and he lays down and I cross my arms, and he looks at me.
"Aren't you going to tuck me in?" He says, smirking, oh so he wants to play?
His smirk slowly faded and I smile innocently at him as I stalked over to him like a lioness capturing her prey.
"Yes sir." I say, bending over him. He watched him closely.. calculating my next move but he didn't know it. I placed the covers over him.
"No goodnight kiss?" He asked me as I pulled away to stand up completely.
"It's not night time."
He sat up and before I could take a step back, he pulled on my shirt and I almost trampled on to him but he caught me. "Kiss me." He ordered.
Crushing our lips together, I gave him a gentle kiss but his exhaustion seemed to have vanished as he rolled me over, causing me to squeal. "Landon!"
His hand burned my side and I could tell he wanted nothing more than to be with me physically.
"We have to take baby steps remember?" I commented as his mouth found other parts of my body to awaken, his tongue flicked out against my neck before he grabbed the edge of my jaw titling my head to get better access.
"For?" I felt him against me, he didn't want to take baby steps, he wanted to run.
"You're going to make me pass out." I still haven't yet recovered fully and he was already ready for the action.
"I want you." He trailed down my neck, leaving butterfly kisses down my neck, he hummed in the back of his throat. "Right now."
"There is no way I smell good right now." I changed the topic, trust me I was in the mood but my headache was soon approaching.
"Is this your way of saying for me to lay down and stop being so horny?" He detached his lips from mine, before rolling off me.
"Kind of." I sat up. "You won't be getting any cookies anytime soon."
"What?"
Scooting off the bed, I walked to the wash room readying myself for a much needed shower. "Baby steps."
And I shut the door in his perplexed face, the next six months were going to be interesting.

Takumi no Eri
A romance set between in the generation between 'Kiri to Shinkiro' and 'Data Dragon Danika'. A sudden attraction leads to an unexpected test result that forces the two of them to make a choice, and start defining what kind of relationship this really is. I know it's a little odd to have posted both the prequel and the sequel in my Animephile before getting to this one, but honestly >_> it felt like this one (and its interwined twin that I started writing about half way through it, and will edit when this one is done) was just too smutty. I'm cleaning it up and toning it down to meet the rating as I go back through it.I'm only scheduling one chapter a week, because I'm also starting something in a new universe that I hope to have ready to begin posting sometime this summer. The Girl He Used To Know - An UnderCurrent Story
Pierre Havelock is an author, atleast now he is. In truth 3 decades ago Pierre was dragged across space & time only to land on our boring old earth. So when one of his 'characters', a girl based on someone he once knew in his past life, appears before him - Pierre is less than best pleased. He is even less happy when said girl decides to make his house her new home! __Now on Royal-Road! ‘The Girl he Used To Know’ began life when I came across a rather silly prompt on a web-novel site I was using; "Theme: My 2D waifu is now my real life Valentine's!?"Well with a title like that I couldn’t help but be interested by the idea of leaving my usual writing niche and trying something a bit more novel. Tying it loosely back to my main series ‘UnderCurrent’, ‘GUK’ was born as a standalone romance novella which you are now holding, styled with Japanese tropes in mind from a more western perspective.I hope you will find this to be an interesting and fun read - Designed with the intent of being a somewhat contemplative and ‘cosy’ story - Whatever the case I thank you for picking it up and giving it a once over.- Momentie __I adapted Draft 2 to audio - I can't voice act, or edit, yet I kinda like it & find it personally the best way to enjoy the story😂 - https://youtu.be/kNWiSiZU53U
