Author Note: bonus chapter are scenes I had already written but were excluded from the chapters due to length, incompletes, etc.

"We don't have the room for goats, Jackson," Buck said, glancing back at Mila who was slowly following them. He wanted to make sure she didn't get distracted by a cute animal and wander off.

"They were rescued from a petting zoo and in need of homes," Jackson said. "You know goat meat is delicacy-"

"Absolutely not. You know that shit won't fly with Mila, especially if I let her take care of them."

"You're right. There's always goat milk," he said.

Buck called to Mila who immediately sped up, tucking into his side.

There were four goats rescued.

"They've been here for two weeks, and we've had no interest. They really can't be anything more than a pet," the salesman said.

"Aww," Mila giggled, reaching for the goat that was eager for her attention. "Aren't you the cutest thing I've ever seen?"

Buck huffed, and Jackson snickered.

"If you have a place for them, I'll let you have them for basically nothing," the man pushed. "The doe is pregnant."

Buck groaned quietly.

"That's good though, that means we can have goat milk," Jackson said.

"Can they stay in the barn until we have a pen built?" Buck asked.

"Yes, definitely. I'll get paperwork."

"Did you hear that?" Mila told the goat. "You're coming home with me. You get to meet my chickens and my horse."

Jackson and Buck filtered through the paperwork. "We could sell cheese with our beef or something, and Mila loves them," Jackson said.

"I've already got enough on my plate," Buck said. "But Mila does love them, and they do need a home."
