《Little Love》38. Billionaire

Jade held tightly onto my hand as she tugged me through the parking lot of what looked to be a warehouse. As usual, she had her cold mask on, the one she always put up when out in public. Unlike usual though, she had a frightened look in her eyes which scared me. Not once had I ever seen Jade doubt herself, but her hand was clammy and her eyes worried.
She shoved open the door and walked straight in, much to the surprise of a few guys walking around the huge crates, some of them under a thin blanket-like cover. We got a few strange looks, but were otherwise ignored as Jade marched forwards, keeping a wide berth away from everyone else. I had no idea where we were and Jade hadn't bothered to tell me on the way here, leaving me entirely clueless. I sniffled pathetically beside her when she gave an office door three strong knocks and waited for a reply. The entire car ride here, she had been silent and thoughtful, giving me concerned looks every so often. My phone had remained in her apartment, much to her disagreement, when Grey, Alex and Kaiden started messaging me. I knew that my situation was freaking her out, but she was also concerned that we needed my brother to help still, and ignoring him wouldn't do me any favours.
"Come in," A low voice growled out. I gulped as Jade practically threw the door open, storming in and slamming it shut behind us. My eyes scanned over the small office, a bulky man sat on a desk in the centre of it. His dark eyes gave us a challenging look, one which I instantly hid from, and one Jade glared right back at.
"Hey guys!" Sam loudly announced her arrival. Jade looked as though she was about to hit someone, so it was understandable when Sam wrapped her arm around me and greeted me instead.

"Hey, Love. You okay?" I nodded, my face squished against her shoulder. She hummed and let me go, holding onto my upper arms.
"You're fine, don't stress." I gave her a doubtful look. "Seriously, there's nothing to worry about,"
"Other than her murderous father," Jade scoffed. Sam gave her a look before rolling her eyes and looking back at me.
"Anyways, as I was about to say, I've spoken to a few people, and we have a plan!" She grinned and I couldn't help the hopeful grin I gave back.
"We?" Jade asked, her cold act still up. She was eyeing up the guy who was still just staring at us.
"Yeah, my mates said they wouldn't mind. A lot of them find it too much fun to expose dumbass billionaires and wreak havoc in a media storm," Who was Sam hanging around with? Because honestly, they didn't sound like the most safe of people...
"But can't he still reach her in prison?" Sam let me go with another eyeroll at Jade's suspicion, making her way over the guy and sitting next to him.
"Not if we only release his better... affairs? Let's go with affairs. That way, we can just mention that if he tries anything, we'll let go of the rest, and then he really will be in trouble," She gave me a side look.
"Sorry Love, but your dad really is an asshole. I can't believe you managed to turn out so... sweet!" I shrugged and look down.
"I haven't really spent much time with him, I suppose..." I muttered, scuffing the toe of my shoe against the floor. Her statemnt hurt, despite the truth of it. He was still my father, even if he was a little mean, and I know that he kinda deserved it, it still didn't sit right with me. It was me or him though, that much was certain.

"I didn't even realise he was a billionaire," I could feel Jade's shocked look on the side of my face before she returned to her cool demeanor.
"How do you not know that you're the daughter of a billionaire?" I shrugged again.
"I don't know what he does. I spent most of my time in a boarding school or holiday homes,"
"Either way," Sam snapped, thankfully jumping back into the spotlight. "I'm not going to go into specifics right now, however, my guys can release his info immediately if you want, and we can cut him out of your life for good," Her last line caught my attention.
"For good?"
"Well, yeah. Emancipation. I'm pretty sure the judge will allow it once he's been exposed. And I don't think many people know you're related to him here, so you should be safe from media backlash, and if not, we can always forge adoption papers or something," I blinked at her. Emancipation? Literally disowning my parents?
"Don't think too hard about it now. Just keep it in mind for later as maybe a back up plan incase there really is bad media backlash and someone tracks you down. I don't want to go too far into it, but your father's massively fucked up to the point where my friends can't physically bring themselves to dicuss everything he's done." I nodded sadly. How many other people had he tried to hurt?
"Who else knows about this?" Jade snapped.
"Me, David, Kastro and Rue," Sam replied smoothly. She was obviously used to Jade's attitude by now.
"And this won't take long?" Sam shrugged.
"I mean, the media's gonna work up an absolute frenzy at this and it's probably going to take months to die down, even with countless hours of video evidence. It shouldn't directly imapct us though, although Ale'x is gonna be pissed if we don't let him know first," She stepped in front of us and grinned.
"You'll be fine though. Nothing should be able to touch you. Love won't even have to testify or anything if she really hasn't lived much at home. There's enough shit to convict him without her." I nodded and hugged her tightly, feeling tears at the back of my eyes again.
"Thank you, Sam, I really appreciate this," I whispered. She hugged me back before pulling away.
"No problem. I just need to check everything over with Marcus, and we should be safe," Alarm bells started ringing in my head.
Marcus was close with my father...
"And who's Marcus?" Jade asked, reaching for my hand again, obviously assuming we were done here. The man stood up from the desk, looking even taller than before, his dark eyes focused on me.
"I am,"
