Alex was still whining about buying so much fizzy juice as I skipped out of the car and up the house, the boys following behind me. I pushed open the door and held it open, as each of them had both hands full with the food. As they made their way into the games room, I started to follow, before Kaiden called over his shoulder.
"Love, do you mind grabbing some cups? We'll need twelve," I nodded and padded back into the kitchen and opened a few cupboards before finding the right one. When I finally followed the sound of all the noise, the boys had laid out the food across a coffee table and everyone else was hazardly grabbing as much of it as possible. I didn't stress too much, as when I found Alex, he was holding two plates, handing one over to me.
"Here, I know you like to pick at your food, so I got you a bit of everything," I grinned and took it, mentioning my thanks as I followed him over to the sofa where everyone was piling on. Although there were three sofas, they were all pretty full, plus Kaiden was sat on the floor, so I went and sat next to him, putting my plate on the coffee table in front of us and watching the game they were playing on the tv. I winced when I realised that it was quite violent, flinching when the player shot at someone. Everyone else around me seemed to cheer though, so I stayed quiet and pulled out my phone instead, opening up my dms. I had another ask for a commission, although this time, they wanted it all traditional art, in my more realistic style. I replied back quickly, realising that I needed to get the other commissions done quickly. Standing up, I went to grab my tablet.

"Love, where you going?" I turned back to Alex.
"I'll be back in a minute..." He nodded and I left, quickly making my way up to my room and finding my tablet in the draw of my desk. I came back to the games room and sat back where I was, opening up on of the digital commissions that was nearly ready to print and send off. It was a cute portrait of a girl and it was mainly the background that needed finishing, but the nose was bothering me, so I zoomed in and started working on that.
My mind drifted off as I worked and it was as if I was so lost in my thoughts that I wasn't even in the room anymore. All I could think of was my old school, where we had the rare movie night, and eighteen of us would all pile onto three small sofas and watch movies way into the morning. So it was fair, each week we would take it in turns to pick a movie, and if you didn't get a turn one week, you would either go the next week or the week after that.
"Love?" I jumped, then looked to see Alex looking at me, amused.
"Why are you still working? I swear you're always doing your art, but it can't be homework, as it's first day of term!" He said.
"It's a commission I must finish by the end of the week," I motioned to the tablet. "It's almost finished though, so I think I can get it done by tonight." He reached out and I passed it over to him, locking it so he wouldn't be able to change anything on it. I'd be so unbelievably annoyed if he ruined three weeks of hard work.

"Wow, Love, this is amazing!" I blushed, and went to take it back off him, but Kaiden looked over and saw it too. He nodded in agreement, smiling at me, making me blush even further.
"Grey, have you seen this?" Internally, I died a little bit inside, mentally screaming at my brother not to show him. Wait, why was I so nervous for Greyson to see it?
With baited breath, I watched as Greyson looked at what I had been working so hard on, then looked up to me after a few seconds, with a little half smile.
"That's amazing, you're very talented." I blushed a deep red, and finally, Alex returned my tablet to me, and so I awkwardly started drawing again, trying to shut out the distractions around me. My mind kept coming back to Greyson though - did he really think I was talented? I mean, he wouldn't have said it if he didn't think so, but maybe he was just being nice? He was my brother's best friend after all, and I was his best friend's sister, so he couldn't really say anything other than praise.
I came to the conclusion that he was lying or exaggerating. My work wasn't that good, and it was still unfinished, so he was probably thinking that it was a massive waste of my time, and his for being shown it.
Well, he probably didn't care what I did in my time, whether I was wasting it or not, but still, the point remains.
My work was awful and he didn't care.
I stood up and left the room, taking my tablet with me, now suddenly upset. My stupid insecurities now made it difficult to even look at what I was previously proud of, and so I shut it down and went into the kitchen and started searching for ingredients. Whenever I was stressed or upset, I always made something, whether it was edible or some item of clothing, I just had to take a break off of my art and focus my mind on something else. Today though, I immediately searched for the ingredients for cookies. There was no need to find a recipe though, as I had made them so many times at this point that I had memorised it.
The ingredients were quickly mixed and the things I had used were piled into the sink so I could wash up once they were in the oven. It wasn't until I had rolled out the dough and was using a cookie cutter shaped as a cute little heart that I realised someone was in the room with me. I span around, only to see Greyson stood in the doorway, watching. I flushed a bright red again, looking down as he came closer, until he was stood in front of me. I looked up, my neck aching with the stupid amount of height difference. He looked back down at me, raising a brow at me.
"Why are you upset?"
