《Little Love》11. Jade

I clutched my folder to my chest as I stood in front of my music tech. building. I had told Kaiden that I knew exactly where I was going, but honestly, I couldn't even remember the surrounding buildings.
I was lost.
Slowly, I began walking forwards, trying to remember which path we had taken. Surely the little cafe couldn't be that hard to find? Plus the campus wasn't too big, so even if I couldn't remember where it was, if I just kept walking then I would eventually find it.
I passed by a group of boys and recognised one of them as one of my roommates, but I felt too awkward to say anything, so I kept my head down and kept walking. He probably didn't want me pestering him anyway.
I realised that I had definitely gone the wrong way when I reached the maths building.
I hated maths.
Looking around, I saw a water fountain, and went over to sit on the edge, not knowing what else to do. I was lost, and I couldn't remember which way I had come from. Where did Kaiden say he'd be?
Oh wait.
He didn't.
I sighed and rested my head in my hands, trying to think. Where was the best place to go? Did I even know if there was anywhere best to go? I mean, other than the cafe, where I was supposed to be five minutes ago.
"Hey, are you alright?" I looked up to see a girl dressed in a leather jacket and dark purple lipstick.
"Um... yes, thank you." She snorted and sat next to me, throwing her bad carelessly next to her.
"Doesn't look like it. What's up?" I sighed again, giving her a helpless look.
"I, um, kinda' got lost 'cus it's my first day here." She gave me an amused look.

"How the hell do you get lost on a campus?" I felt myself turn red.
"I just have an awful sense of direction, I suppose."
"Well, where are you trying to go?"
"The cafe, 'cus I'm supposed to meet someone."
"Oh, sweet, I was gonna' head there anyway. Wanna' walk with me?" I nodded and we stood, and started walking back the way we had came.
"So, which class did you just come from?" She asked. I looked down at her shoes, noticing the sudden height difference. She was only wearing Doc. Martains, and still managed to tower over me.
What I wouldn't give to be tall...
"Music tech."
"Somehow, you've managed to pass right by the cafe, and walk to the other side of the campus. Now that, is a talent." I blushed again, laughing slightly when she did.
"Yeah, I guess. I just have an awful sense of direction..."
"I can tell." Off of anyone else, I would've thought that they were being mean, but it didn't sound to be an insult off of her, just more like a casual observation. She walked with her head straight up and confidence radiated off of her, and I felt envious as I knew I looked like I was following her around like a lost puppy.
A well dress lost puppy, but still a lost puppy.
"Here, who are you meeting?" I shrugged, looking for any of the boys. Kaiden hadn't mentioned anyone in particular, so I just guessed it was either him, my brother or Greyson.
"Not too sure, but their not here yet." She marched up to the counter, leaving me stood there. I watched her as she turned to her left, where I had been stood, and noticed I wasn't there.

"Come on, I'll get you a drink." I walked up to her just as she was being greeted by somebody.
"Hi, how may I help you?"
"I'll get a large green tea to go and..."
"A small hot chocolate, please," I piped in. She quickly payed by card and dragged me over to wait for our drinks. Swinging my bag around, I reached in and grabbed my purse out and went to give her the cash for my drink, but she shook her head.
"Nope. I offered, so I'll pay." I stared at her, hand reached out to offer her the cash, but she shook her head once more, and so I put the money away.
I could find some other way to pay her back.
"What's your name?" She asked.
"Mia, but people call me Amoret, and you?"
"Jade, but people call me bitch." She snorted at my shocked expression.
"Wish I was joking," I awkwardly smiled.
"Oh, um..." She waved me off.
"Don't worry about it, I was making a joke, you didn't get it, it's fine," I stared at the ground. I always managed to make things so awkward.
"Hey, don't worry about it, for real. It's fine." I nodded at her, and luckily our drinks were called out. I turned around, and looked for one of the boys, before Jade nudged me.
"Damn, I swear he's never without his guard dogs," I looked to where she was looking, and saw Greyson looking at me. He rose an eyebrow at Jade as he walked over, before dismissing her and looking at me. I gave him an awkward little wave, which he smirked at.
"Ready?" I nodded and he began walking away.
"Bye, Jade!" I called, following after him. She waved and turned to a group of girls who had called her name.
Greyson seemed to be thinking about something, so I walked next to him in silence as we made our way to the car park. He got into the drivers side and I walked around to the passenger.
"Are Kaiden or Alex coming?" He didn't look at me as he pulled out of the space.
"No, they have business elsewhere." I blinked at the vague response, leaning back into the chair and crossing my legs.
"So, how was your day?"
