《Primrose》Chapter 24

The preview of the fundraiser is officially over, now I just have to wait for the actual fundraiser to arrive which should be in a little over two weeks. And now my time at Jed's place is also officially over too. The weekend went by in a flash. When I went home with Jed, I felt fine. That is until the next morning. I felt sore in all the wrong places. My head was hurting and the bruises finally took their performance on my skin. Jed gave me some painkillers and that helped a bit.
I didn't want to come home to May's house with bruises and cuts all over my body. So I decided to stay another night at Jed's place. May wasn't too suspicious about it. Thank goodness. But now I have to return home or else May will definitely suspect something is going on.
Heath parks the car in front of my house. I turn to face him. "How do I look?" I ask him. I know I still have a few bruises but that's way better than the first day of the pain coming in.
"Baby, you look beautiful as always," He says causing a blush to form onto my cheeks and a smile to form onto my lips.
"Yeah you do, but I'm trying to eat my yogurt here so if you could just look away......" Kade says turning away to face the window. I gasp and slap his head. "Ow!" He yells holding his head.
"Okay, I'm going. Thank you, bye guys," I say as I hop out of the car with my duffel bag in hand. I start my walk to the front door and pull it open. I hear May's footsteps getting louder as she enters the living room.
"You're home. Hi, are you hungry?" She asks.
"Yeah but I'm gonna rest for a bit," I say not looking at her.
I hear her chuckle a bit. "What are you doing silly girl? Why are you just staring at the door like that?" She asks as I hear her voice get louder. Oh no, she's right behind me.
"Umm, I'm just looking at the wood. It's really dirty maybe you should go to the bathroom and get something to clean it with. And while you do that, I'll be upstairs," I say quickly.

"Prim, turn around. Why are you being so weird?"
A sigh leaves my lips as I slowly turn my face to meet hers. Her playful smile turns into one horrifying face, like the one you would see in horror movies. "Oh my goodness, what happened?" She asks softly.
"May, I'm fine," I say calmly. She reaches her hand to my cheek and I wince softly.
"You're fine? Primrose Hendricks, why are there cuts and bruises on your delicate face?" She asks her voice getting louder. I hear another set of footsteps enter the living room. We both turn our faces to see Clyde with the same expression as May and rush over to me.
"Oh my, Prim what happened?" He asks. Here we go again.
"Look I'm fine okay? I promise it barely even hurts," I say turning to leave. May grips my arm and pulls me back gently as not to hurt me.
"Prim. Explain. Now," She says her face turning angry.
I sigh once again. "Okay so I decided to enter a little boxing fundraiser thing and today was a little preview of what the fundraiser will be like. I boxed someone today but I won!" I say getting excited in the end. Well, there goes that happiness.
"That's amazing," Clyde says pulling me into a hug. May pinches his ear, causing him to yell in pain.
"No, it certainly is not. Look at you! Do you not see yourself? Oh, I bet it was that boy, what was his name again? Heat?" May asks getting irritated.
I roll my eyes. "No May, I chose to do this. And I'm doing the fundraiser whether you like it or not," I state.
May shakes her head. "No, you are not doing that little boxing match and you are certainly not to see that man ever again. And it will go great together along with how grounded you will be," She says crossing her arms over her chest.
"Your not being fair!" I yell this time. "It has nothing to with Heat--- I mean Heath. He's the one who tried to stop me from doing this! I chose to do this and I will accept the consequences, not him,"
"Well your consequences are to not see him again," May says back. I groan in annoyance.

"That's punishing him too! If anything don't allow me to see Kade, he's annoying as it is," I try to reason with her. Sorry, Kade.
She just continues to shake her head. "I'm sorry Prim, but I'm trying to look out for you. Go to your room, I'll call you when dinner is ready," She says calmly and walks off. I turn to face Clyde for help but he knows May controls the house. Whatever she says goes. He gives me a sorry look and kisses my temple before walking off as well.
I groan and stomp up the stairs to my room and almost slam the door shut. I slide down my door and bring my knees to my chest as I cry. That's not fair. Me not being able to see Heath ever again? She's can't stop two people who want to be together. That's illegal in my mind.
I wipe my tears away and stand up. I think I need to take a shower to calm out my thoughts. I really want to say that May is the worst person ever, but I know she's not. In fact, she's far from being the worst.
After a nice shower, I laid down on my bed. This is the worst. My phone dings signaling that someone had texted. I reach for my phone and wince from the pain in my arm. I grab my phone and look to see that Jed had texted me.

I'm currently laying in bed, staring at the ceiling when there's a knock on my bedroom window. It's now dark outside but I manage to get up, trying to ignore my aching body and head for the window. I pull away the curtains and Heath is outside with flowers in one of his hands. "Heath?" I question as I pull open the window to let him in. "What're you doing here? May banned me from seeing you," I whisper yell to him.
Heath had given me a call earlier to check up on me and I ranted to him about everything May just told me. He seemed upset about me not being able to see him, but guess what? He showed up anyway.
"I don't care," He whispers and climbs in. "I wanted to see you," He says and hands out the flowers to me. "Here," He says. "They're primroses,"
I smell them and a smile forms on my face. "Thank you, Heath," I say and pull him into a hug.
"What're you going to do about the fundraiser?" He asks against my lips. I hum in response and close my eyes.
"I'll figure it out. I'm going to try and convince her and if she still doesn't budge, then I guess I'm sneaking out," I say. I would never do anything rebellious. If you get caught, it's kind of an endgame for you. Kind of.
Then I realize. If I get caught with Heath inside my room, May is going to lock me up and never let me out of the house just like Mother Gothel did to Rapunzel! I quickly waddle over to the door and lock it. "She can't see that you're here," I say.
Heath and I both lay down on my bed. Him making sure that my body is comfortable lying down against his. "So," He says and trails off.
"So?" I ask.
"So. Uhm. Okay so I've been meaning to ask you a question that's been wracking my brain ever since I met you," He says and trails off once again.
I groan in annoyance. "Just tell me, Heath!" I whine to him.
He clears his throat before speaking. "Okay, so uhm. Would you maybe like to--you can say no if you want--but would you like to be my girlfriend?" He asks nervously.
Wait seriously? I mean I thought we already were but I was a bit confused about what we were. But now that he's asking I'm definitely sure. I squeal in delight and kiss him harshly on the lips, ignoring the throbbing pain starting.
"Yes!" I whisper to him. He smiles and pulls me close to him once more. Heath, my boyfriend. Now I just have to keep him a secret from May until she cools down. That's not gonna be that hard, right?
