《Primrose》Chapter 21

"Yeah, I guess we do,"
We both sit in silence, watching the waves crash on the rocks. But it's a peaceful silence. The one where you wish would last forever. The one that tells you something is about to happen. Like a warning.
"We should get going," Heath says breaking the silence. I nod my head and we both quickly gather the items.
"Thank you again for bringing me here," I say with a genuine smile. He nods his head and returns the smile back to me. We both make our way back to his truck before he reverses the car and drives off onto the empty road.
I feel like Heath and I have somewhat got closer from this. He shared a little something about his personal life and I did too. Whatever we said here, will forever be forgotten once we head back.
We arrive at my house and I thank him for driving me home before heading into my warm home.

"Okay spill," Jed says as we decide to take a 10-minute break from the punching. I only have today and tomorrow left to get ready for my fight with Victoria.
"Well, Heath took us to a beach and we just talked," I say simply. I didn't want to spill too much detail. I think what Heath and I talked about last night was definitely private. I trust Heath not to spill the beans or tell anyone else.
"Mmhmm. So you just talked?" Jed asks unamused with my response.
"Yeah, that's what I said," I say with a nod of my head.
"Okay. What did you talk about then?" Jed asked. I think talking about my date would seem very boring to Jed because obviously, I can't tell him what we talked about.
"It's not my place to say. But trust me, we just talked. No PDA or anything," I say reassuring him. Though I think he would've been more than thrilled if I were to tell him that Heath and I made out on the sand and almost did it. But we didn't.
"Fine whatever. Leave your best friend in the dirt then," Jed says pouting.
"I think I will," I reply. "But first, I need my best friend to train me so get your lazy ass up off the bench and into the ring," I say pulling him up.

"Into the ring?" He asks.
"Into the ring," I confirm.
"Okay, but watch out because your about to get Jed-ed," He replies causing me to raise an eyebrow up.
"Jed-ed? You just made that up,"
"I did, but it'll catch on. Eventually. I hope," I shove him playfully and usher him into the ring. Jed and I box each other and it was pretty safe to say that I was actually good at dodging his hits and throwing punches.
"Okay, you only have tomorrow left. Be prepared. And remember what I told you today," Jed says placing an arm around my shoulders.
"Yeah, I know. Let my opponent know that they're about to get Jed-ed. That's not even a thing. They're going to look at me like I'm some crazy psycho lunatic," I reply.

Okay, Prim, you got this. You're fighting against Heath's sister tomorrow. Do not blow it. I throw quick punches to the punching bag, throwing a right hook and some jabs here and there.
"That was pretty good," Kade says tossing me my water bottle.
"Thanks," I reply. My face is probably red from how hard I've been working. I literally woke up at 7 just to come here early and practice some more. Luckily Kade is usually the first one here, so he agreed to help me. "So, you and Kara?" I ask wiggling my eyebrows.
Kade's cheeks slightly change to a light blush color. "It's nothing," He mumbles. I have never seen Kade, of all people, blush before. Now, this is entertainment.
"What do you mean 'it's nothing'? It is definitely something. Jed told me that you guys are planning to go on another date soon,"
"Well, we don't want to rush things. And Kara is a really great person," Kade says, his cheeks forming into a deeper blush. "And anyway shouldn't today be about you? Aren't you the least bit nervous?"
I maybe am just the tiniest bit nervous. But I'm not going to admit that. If I admit it then it will definitely be a confirmation that I will be nervous tomorrow. So I decide to play it cool. At least have some faith in yourself. "No, I'm confident about it. Even if I may lose, it'll be fine because, in the end, it's all worth it. Do not let your fear get in your way of the main goal. "

"Wow, that was something. But I asked you a simple question, not to give me some life advice," Kade says laughing with a smile.
"Hey, you might need it someday. And on that day, you will thank me for it," I whisper.
Kade waves me away with his hand causing me to giggle. Yeah, I just know he'll use that advice one day.
I have probably been here for more than 4 hours. My body is way too tired to continue, I might as well come back later in the afternoon. First, I need to get some food into my system. I take a quick walk to McDonald's and eat my lunch there.
A black Mercedes pulls up and parks. The door to the driver's side opens and Victoria walks out. Well, she looks way too confident for tomorrow. She enters McDonald's and gets in line to order. I don't know why but I feel like this place isn't fancy enough for her. No offense to McDonald's though, their food is very delicious.
She orders her meal and takes a seat on one of the chairs. I quickly try to block my face with my hair, hoping that she wouldn't notice me. I guess my good look shines even through my thick hair. Victoria sees me and her eyes narrow for the slightest bit before she stands up from her seat and makes her way over to me.
"Prism, right?" She asks as she takes the seat across from me.
Oh, how dare she get my name wrong? My name is a flower, not some weird three-dimension looking triangle shape. "Actually it's Primrose, but only my friends get to call me Prim," I say smiling at her.
"Oh, well I hope you aren't nervous for tomorrow Prim, wouldn't want the nerves to eat you alive," She says stealing one of my fries.
First, she gets my name wrong, then she joins me at my table when I hate talking to people, and now she stole one of my fries? Oh, this bitch is going to get it. "You're not my friend, and no. Believe it or not, I'm actually not nervous for tomorrow," I say again with a fake smile.
"Yeah, just don't let me get into that pretty little head of yours, okay? Oh, and don't forget this, but Heath is my brother. You're just some slut who's probably fucking him in return to learn how to fight for yourself. He'll always choose me over you, bye," She says and walks off to grab her order.
I stare her down as she gets into her car and drives away.
♠︎ ♠︎ ♠︎
I return back to the gym with a weird expression on my face. I'm happy that I somewhat put her in her place, but also a bit nervous. Why did she come at me like that? I barely even know her! I guess I was too much in my own little world as I bump right into Heath's chest, causing me to stumble backward and fall on the ground.
"Woah, you okay?" Heath asks me as he bends down and rubs my forehead with his thumb from where I crashed into him.
"Yeah," I sigh out.
"What's wrong?" He asks, his face is now worried.
"It's nothing," I say shrugging it off and standing back up. Heath gives me a look to say that he doesn't believe me. I let out another sigh. "Fine, I saw your sister today and she said some pretty mean stuff to me," I mumble soft enough to make sure he doesn't understand me. I guess luck isn't on my side today.
"What did she say to you?" He asks getting angry.
"She called me Prism. Prism! That's not even my name. And then she stole one of my french fries. She has enough money to buy a cool car, she probably has enough money to buy herself one thousand large-sized french fries!" I yell.
"What was the rude stuff?" He asks.
I give him a shocked and hurtful look. "Those were rude!" He narrows his eyes at me. I sigh once again. "She said that I was just some slut who was probably sleeping with you and in return, you would teach me boxing," I mumble.
"She said that?" He asks, his eyes hardening and his lips forming into a thin line. I just nod my head in response. "That's it," He says and tosses me some boxing gloves. I give him a confused look. "We're going hardcore today," He says.
