《Primrose》Chapter 20

There is a knock on my window door. I quietly make my way over there and slowly open the window, hoping to not give anything away to May and Clyde.

"Hi," I say once Heath's beautiful face comes into view.

"So, where are my clothes?" He asks me with a grin on his face. I step aside, making way for him to be able to climb through my window.

"Why don't you come in and get them yourself?"

His smile grows wider as something twinkles in his eyes. He starts to climb through the window. Once he manages to get into my bedroom, I close the window and block my bedroom with my window curtains.

"So," Heath says, sitting on the edge of my bed. He grabs my waist and yanks me close to him so that I'm standing in between his legs. My hands automatically wrap around his neck.

"So?" I repeat his question. "Wanna watch a movie?" I ask. He chuckles softly before leaning back on my bed, taking me with him.

I land on top of him, my head resting against his chest while his arms stay wrapped around my waist. "Go on a date with me," He says after a while. I move my head so that I can look up at him with a confused look on my face.

"A date?" I ask and he nods his head. "Where to?".

"That will be a surprise. But only if you agree to go out with me," He says with a smile. I giggle lightly. Did the big bad boxer, Heath Pierce, just asked me to go on a date with him? Is this finally a dream come true? Woah, where did that come from? "Prim?" He asks, bringing me out of my train of thoughts.

I clear my throat before answering him. "Hmmm, I don't know. I've been really busy lately," I say with an evil smile on my face.

"Please?" He begs me.

"Okay, I'll go on a date with you," I say. He squeezes my waist even tighter and flips us over so that he hovers over my body. He uses his arm to keep his weight off of me. "You look so cute when you beg," I say reaching my hand out to pinch his cheeks.

"And you look so cute with pink cheeks," He says and leans down to capture my lips with his own. I close my eyes and enjoy the feeling of his lips on mine. "Tomorrow night, be ready," He says as he pulls away and gets off of me, and goes to grab his clothes from the laundry basket. "Don't forget," He warns,

"I won't," I say with a smile on my face. "Goodnight Heath,"

"Goodnight Prim," He says and opens my window back up. He slowly climbs out and once I hear a thump on the ground, I know he's on his way home. I walk over and close the window. I can't believe I just agreed to go on a date with Heath.

"No way!" Jed yells.

"Shhh," I shush him up. After last night's event of Heath sneaking up into my room, me kissing him, and him asking me out, I just couldn't wait to tell Jed about this. I would've told May, but she's probably got a louder reaction than Jed.

The other customers turn to look our way with an irritated look. "Sorry," Jed apologizes. "But Heath? Like the boxer guy who like hates everybody, Heath? The guy who almost broke my nose because I accidentally spill a droplet of water on him, Heath? Jed asks, still in an unbelievable state.

"Yes for the millionth time," I reply with an eye roll.

"Okay, okay um. Wow, I really don't know how to respond to this. I mean I always knew he had a thing for you but like I didn't know, you know?" He asks.

"I'm just going to act like that made total sense to me," I say. "I'm just so nervous. Like Heath and I have hung out before, it's just that like now, I feel like it's just going to be a bit more awkward. I don't know, am I overthinking this?"

"No. You are not,"

"Hey, how did Kade's date with that Kara girl go? Did they hit it off?" I ask. I haven't heard anything from him ever since the movies. And to think I was basically the one to set them up.

"Yep, they're actually going on a second date pretty soon. Kade just needs to find time first what with all the boxing and the fundraiser going on," I just not my head in response. I'm so happy for him. I check the time on my phone.

"Shoot, it's getting late I should head back home. Heath told me to be ready tomorrow night yesterday, so that makes tomorrow night tonight, so gotta go," I say throwing my cup away.

"Tell me how it went!" Jed yells.

"I will," I yell back before speed walking out of the coffee shop and back to my house. Once I reach my house I pull out my phone and text Heath.

Okay, good. It's only 6 so I should have just enough time to take a quick nap. I've been feeling so tired lately that I have been waking up after 10 in the morning. I lie down on my bed and drift off to sleep.

My eyes start to flutter open. Then I realize. Oh no, how long have I been asleep for? I attempt to reach my arm out to grab my phone, but something is holding it back. I look down on my bed and sure enough, a sleeping Heath lays next to me. Aww, he even took off his shoes and jacket. I love a man who respects cleanness on a bed.

I nudge his shoulder awake. "Heath?" I ask softly. He groans and opens his gorgeous hazel green eyes. "Why didn't you wake me up?"

"What time is it?" He asks. I wiggle my arm free from his hold and reach for my phone on my bedside table.

"It's 8:30," I reply. "When did you get here?"

"Like an hour ago," He replies before sitting up. "Come on, we have a date to get to," A smile automatically forms onto my face at the mention of our date.

"Where are you taking me? And how did you get in here?" I ask.

"It's a surprise. And I came in through the front door. May thinks I'm taking you to a late-night training session," He replies and walks over to the window.

"What are you doing?" I ask.

"We are going out the old-fashioned way. Well, at least I think it's old-fashioned. What I mean is we're going out through the window,"

"Heath, I'm wearing a dress, I really don't think that it's appropriate for me to go down a window where you can look up anytime and see my underwear,"

"I'll help you out," With a defeated sigh, I too make my way over to the window. Heath steps one foot out and holds a hand out for me to take. I place my hand in his and he helps maneuver me so that both my feet are standing outside the window. Then, he does something that I will not ever do. He jumps down my window, landing perfectly on his feet. "Come on," He says. "I'll catch you,"

"I don't think this is a good idea Heath," I say, my voice panicking from the thought of jumping out of my window.

"Do you trust me?" He asks. I nod my head. Of course I would trust him. "Then jump, I promise on my life that I will catch you," He says in a serious voice.

Okay, here goes nothing. I grip my window and bend down before closing my eyes and jumping off the edge. I thought I was going to land on the floor but instead, I feel Heath's hard body right under mine. "Am I dead?" I ask to which he laughs.

"See? That wasn't so bad now was it?" He asks and I just smack his chest. "Follow me," He holds my hand in his and leads us to his car. Opening the door for me, I slide in the passenger side and he makes his way over to the driver's side.

The car ride was filled with comfortable silence as Heath drives us to our destination. I hadn't realized that I fell asleep until I felt myself being placed on the floor. "We're here?" I ask. Heath nods his head. I take in my surroundings and realize that I am sitting on a blanket, the stars fill the night sky and I hear the sounds of the waves crashing against the rocks. A smile forms on my face. "You did this?" I ask.

"Yep, only the best for you," He says sitting down next to me. He takes a basket and opens it up, revealing a bunch of snacks inside. My smile grows wider.

"This is beautiful. Thank you, Heath," I say as I place a kiss on his cheek. "Do you come here a lot?" I ask when it goes silent.

"Yeah, I used to come here with my dad," I turn to face his profile. His eyes looking off into the distance of the ocean.

Used to? What did that mean. "You don't come here anymore?" I ask. "You don't have to answer that question," I add. I know these types of stuff, talking about your parents or a family member in general, can be a touchy subject for a few people. Like me.

"No, not anymore," He answers my question anyways.

"Why not?" I ask softly.

Heath just laughs, but it doesn't reach his eyes. I can tell this is one of those laughs where you feel like your about to break down. "He became cold and distant towards us," He replies.

"You and Victoria?" I ask. He just nods his head. Oh, I would rather not have any parents at all if all they're just going to do is not even acknowledge your existence. "I'm sorry," I reply.

"It's not your fault," He says softly.

"My parents are dead," I blurt out. His head snaps to mine. "I mean it not like in that way. I mean I guess um... My birth parents died in an accident when I was just a little girl. I never really knew them much but I know they loved me. I was put into foster care and May and Clyde took me in. But that's okay because if that didn't happen, I wouldn't have met them,"

"I'm sorry," He replies.

I laugh as well. The same kind of laugh that Heath gave out a few moments earlier. "It's not your fault,"

"Well, I guess we both have parent issues," Heath admits and I turn to look at him.

"Yeah, I guess we do,"
