《Primrose》Chapter 16

The next day I arrive back at the underground gym. I think doing a little walking before we begin to train is a good stretch. "I'm here!" I shout. Jed comes and runs over to me.

"Hey, you ready? You're fighting against Vic is in less than a week," He asks as he greets me.

"I should be," I reply. The truth is I'm really nervous. My heart starts beating faster at the mention of me going up against Heath's badass sister. Like the guys called her two days ago.

"You'll be fine," Jed says sensing my nervousness. "By the way, not to freak you out even more or anything buuuuuut. I heard she's coming in today to train too," Jed quickly rushes out the last part. But I heard it as clear as day.

"What?!" I yell. "She's going to take one good look at me and think that I'm one pathetic fighter," I start to panic once again.

"Chill. Heath's going to be here so it will be a lot less intense," Jed adds. My eyes widen even more. No, it will not be less intense, if anything it'll be even more. The tension in the room will definitely kill the mood of my training. And if Victoria finds out that her own brother is helping her opponent for the fundraiser win, then I think a shows about to go down.

"Ugh," I groan in annoyance and slump down on the floor, which I find myself doing a lot lately.

"Did anybody order a slice of hotness?" Kade yells as he and Nash enter the room.

"No, I don't think so, you probably got the wrong address," I reply back. I sit back up and face the guys with an annoyed and worried look on my face.

"Why the long face?" Nash asks as he sits down next to me.

I sigh before answering. "Victoria's coming to train today but Heath and I will be here all day," I say.

"That's tough. But don't worry about Heath and Vic, they're probably not even going to acknowledge each other," Nash says.

"Yeah right. And if she finds out that Heath's helping me, then I think their family feud is going to go even further than it was before," I reply.

Just then the doors open revealing Heath and his sister arguing. I thought he said they don't even talk anymore? "I told you I was going to be in here today!" A female voice yells.

"Well too bad, I'm training Prim whether you like it or not!" Heath yells back.

"Get. Out! I'm not kidding Heath," Victories screams this time.

"You have a fucking gym at home, go use it!"

"You know what? Don't talk to me while you're here,"

"I wasn't planning on it,"

Then everything goes silent. Both Heath and Victoria's gazes meet ours. "Awkward," Nash whispers to me. I roll my eyes and shove him.

"Hey, Vic!" Jed yells waving at her. Her gaze goes from me to Jed and a warm smile appears on her lips.

"Hey," She mumbles.

I stand up and walk over to them, reaching my hand out, I introduce myself. "Hi Victoria, I'm-- okay then," She walks away from me before I could even finish my sentence.

"She's on the same team as you Vic so you better be nice to her," Heath yells to Victoria who goes straight to the punching bags.

"Well she seems nice," I say sarcastically.

"She's not," Heath says. "Come on," He takes my hand in his and drags me over to the weights. "Since my bitch of a sister took our usual spot, we are going to use the weights today,"

"And how is this going to help me?" I question.

"Just trust me. Here," Heath grabs the 45-pound weights and puts them on the bar. He easily carries them and hands them over to me. I take them from his hand but they drop down onto the floor immediately. I guess my arm strength isn't going to be much help in the fight.

"Help?" I ask as I try to lift the weights back up.

"Babe, you gotta use your legs," Heath says laughing. But the only thing I caught on from what he said was the fact that he called me 'babe'.

"Well babe, help me," I say emphasizing the word 'babe'.

"Okay," Heath says and goes to stand behind me. He places his strong arms around my body to help support the weight bar. "Like this," He says and spots me lifting it up and back down. "Got that?"

"Yep I got it," I say wanting to get out of this uncomfortable position.

I lift the weight bars easily as I get the hang of it. The rest of the guys went to chat with Victoria. Well, they seem to be on her good side. Lucky them. While I think I'm more on her bad side. I mean I tried being nice to the girl but she straight up ignored me. Like who does that?

I set the bar down. "I need a break," I tell Heath. I walk over to the benches and grab my water bottle, watching as the guys still hang around Victoria. I feel Heath take a seat next to me with a sigh.

"Sorry about my sister," He says.

I turn to face him. "You don't have to apologize to her," I say shaking my head.

"I know but she's normally not the one to apologize for her behavior, so I have to do it,"

"Are you older than her?" I ask him. He acts older, but Victoria is the one who gives off the bigger sister vibes.

Heath shakes his head. "She's older, but only by 2 minutes," My jaw drops open. What did he just say? 2 minutes? "What?" He asks me when I don't come out of my shocked face.

"Wait you guys are twins?" I ask him surprised.

"Yeah, I don't tell people much. I mean everyone always compares twins to each other, it's like a lifelong competition. Who walks first, who gets the higher grade, who's nicer, etc. It gets really irritating sometimes," He replies. I stay silent. I get that, I really do. I'm not a twin and all but from my middle school experience, I had twins in my class who were always competing against one another. "Anyway, Victoria's heading out now, let's head to the punching bags," He stands up and holds out a hand for me to take which I do. Placing my hand in his, he pulls me up and we walk to where the guys are.

For the rest of my time here, the guys taught me more about different boxing techniques. I think I've gotten a lot better and I feel a bit more confident about my fight against Victoria.

After a long session, I head back home before dinner. "You're back," May says as I enter the house.

"Yep," I reply slumping down on the couch. May takes a seat next to me, placing a tray of snacks on the coffee table.

"So, how was your date with, what was his name again?" She asks me.

"His name is Heath. And it wasn't a date. He just told me that we were going on a run in the woods. That was it,"

"So you guys didn't go to eat dinner?"

"Well we went to McDonald's but that's rarely a date right?" I don't think Heath would ever take me out on a date. I'm probably not even his type. If anything Heath's type would most likely be girls who know how to box, who know how to run, who don't complain every second of their life, and who are probably really tall.

"Hmmm, okay then. I'm heading back to the shop to work on those centerpieces. Wanna join?"

"No, I'm good. I think I'm going to take a shower. I reek of sweat," I reply. May laughs it off and I head upstairs for a nice and cold shower.

My phone starts to ring as I step out of the shower. I wrap my towel around my body and go to pick it up to see who's calling. Heath. I click the answer button and the camera shows my face, along with Heath who lays down on his bed. He looks like he just woke up from a nap with his messy bed head.

"Hi," I say with a smile.

"What're you up to right now?" Heath asks.

"I just showered,"

"Oh, well I was wondering, more like Jed asked me to ask you but um he was actually wondering if you're free tonight?"

"Why?"

"Well, he wanted to see if you wanted to go to the movies?"

A smile forms on my face. "Uh-huh, and Jed wanted to ask me?"

"Yeah, you know. He got lazy so-- who cares about Jed. Are you free tonight?"

"Yeah, I should be free tonight. Are the rest of the guys going?" I ask. If Heath invited me to go to the movies, then I sure hope the rest of the guys do come. It's not like a date right? If Heath wanted to ask me out then he could've just asked me instead of bringing Jed into this.

"Yeah, they wanted to tag along. So I'll pick you up at around 8?"

"Sounds good," I reply. "I'm going to change now, bye,"

"Wait, you're not gonna let me watch you change? Babe, I thought we were close? Now I feel sad," Heath forms a pout on his face.

"Nice try. I'll call you when I'm ready," I say and hang up the phone. This isn't technically a date right? Nope, it is not so Prim shut your pie hole up. The other guys are coming too so it's just barely a date. I hope.
