《Primrose》Chapter 9

"Break's over. Hop in the ring," Jed says as he ushers me inside. I hesitantly take my stance as Heath enters the ring.

"Please go easy on me?" I beg, but it more comes out as a question. Heath just grins when Jed announces to start.

We start to circle each other, none of us attacking first. I know Heath's technique. Wait for it, don't strike for it. Giving that Heath isn't going to attack anytime soon, I throw a punch to his jaw to which he dodges easily.

"You got this Prim. Just pretend that he doesn't have like one hundred more pounds of muscle on you!" Jed shouts.

"Gee, thank you that helps," I say sarcastically. I go in to throw another punch, this time Heath catches my wrist and spins me around so that my back is pressed against his front. I gasp from the sudden impact.

I can feel his breath right next to my ear. A shiver takes over my whole entire body. Is it getting hot in here? "Heath, w-what are you doing?" I stuttered out as he leans in closer to the nape of my neck. I feel him press a soft kiss right there before he releases me. He spins me back around so that we're facing each other and lifts me over his shoulder. Then he gently slams me down on the floor. That actually hurt less than when Kade tackled me.

"Don't get distracted in the ring," He warns before he gets off of me and hops out of the ring. I prop myself on my elbows, my breathing heavy. Not from the boxing but from the heated moment that Heath and I just had.

Doesn't he have a girlfriend? Nash makes his way into the ring and holds a hand out for me to take. I place my small hand in his and he pulls me up to my feet. I mumble a 'thanks' before I head out of the ring and plop myself on the bench.

"He went easy on you and you're out of breath?" Kade asks as he takes a seat next to me. Oh, he doesn't even know what went on.

Oh no. I hope this doesn't make me a boyfriend stealer. Even though I wasn't the one to make the first move. "You stink by the way," Kade adds. I turn to glare at him.

"Thanks, I already know I suck at this," I reply back.

"Yeah that also, but I meant you stink as in you smell like sweat. Go take a shower." He says waving me off. I playfully punch him on the arm before saying my goodbyes to the guys and heading back home.

After a nice warm shower, I changed and headed downstairs. I checked the time to see that it's around 5 pm. I grabbed my phone and bag and started walking down to May's flower shop. I enter the beautiful flower coated room and straight to May.

"Hi," I say as I take a seat on one of her comfy chairs.

"Hello, have you eaten yet?" She asks me. I shake my head. "Okay, well there should be some leftover lasagna from last night in the fridge. Feel free to heat it up," She says as I make my way to the back. I microwave the lasagna before heading back outside to sit back down. "What have you been up to today?" She asks me.

"Well, I worked out, again, with the guys," I tell her.

"I can tell. You're gaining muscle already," She says with a smile. "You say you've been hanging out with them, though I haven't seen Jed in a while. Does he not like me anymore?" She asks jokingly.

A small laugh escapes my mouth. "I'll ask him to stop by one day," I reply digging into my dinner.

"Yeah, and while you're at it, why don't you invite those other guys as well? I'd love to meet your gym buddies." She adds. I stop chewing.

"Um, I don't think that such a great idea," I reply with a mouthful of lasagna. May gives me a curious look.

"And why is that?" She asks me, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Because they're a bit not very approachable?"

"What do you mean by that?"

I sigh as I know she won't stop. "Okay, never mind I said anything. I'll ask them to stop by as well." I say.

"That would be lovely," She states.

"Yep," I mumble quietly to myself.

"So please don't go all boxer guy on her," I beg the guys. I told them how May wants to meet them along with wanting to see Jed again.

"Relax, I'm great with these types of stuff. You know, back in my day they called me the ladies man," Kade says grinning.

"Uh it's still your day, and no one has ever called you that," Nash replies, causing a pout to form on Kade's face.

"No need to tattle," He grumbles.

"Anyway, please don't mention anything about boxing to May. I haven't told her yet but I promise that I will. I just have to find the right time to do so," I say to the guys.

"Okay, we won't," Nash says.

"Thank you, and where's Heath? I thought he was coming too?" I ask them.

"His mom told him to take Sasha out for her birthday, it's today by the way," Jed says. Oh, I feel a bit sad but I get it. His girlfriend should always come first and I respect him for that.

"Okay, then I guess it's just you three. Please don't blow this or else May will literally kick my ass," I say. They all nod in agreement before heading to Jed's car.

15 minutes later we arrive at my house. "Okay, be cool," I say.

"When was the last time I wasn't cool?" Kade asks. We all turn to look at him. "Don't answer that," He says.

I ring the doorbell to which May opens the door with a wide smile on her face. "Hi boys, you must be Prim's gym buddies, come on in," She says and steps to the side for us to enter.

We all take a seat in the living room. "Would you guys like something to drink?" She asks as we all sit down.

"No thanks," Jed says and the guys also politely decline her offer.

"Okay then," She takes a seat on a single couch, facing all of us. "So how do you guys know Prim. Wait, forget that question, what're you're names?" She asks with amusement in her eyes.

"I'm Kade and this is Nash," Kade says, introducing him and Nash to May.

"And I'm Jed," Jed says to which May laughs softly.

"Silly boy, I already know who you are, but it's nice for introductions," She says. "So, do you all work out together?"

"Yeah, they've been helping me do some..... stuff," I say. Stuff? Really? Like May will not dig in further about that.

"Oh, what kind of stuff?" Called it.

"Push-ups, Prim really needs to work on that and we've been running around the whole gym. Prim really needs to work on that too," Kade says, emphasizing the word 'really'.

I give him a look that says 'thanks for calling me out'. "Well then it's a good thing Prim's going to the gym then," May says and I breathe a sigh of relief. Okay, so far so good.

"She also needs to work on her punches too," Kade adds. We all snap our heads in his direction. What did I say about not mentioning boxing? I want to strangle him right now.

May's eyes widen. "Punching you said?" She asks, a worried face takes over. She turns to face me. "Punching?" She repeats again.

Damn you, Kade. I give him a glare to which he mouths back 'I'm sorry I forgot'. I'll get him back later. "Uh yeah, punching. They also have um....uh self-defense lessons there," I cover up quickly. Her narrowed eyes soften. Okay, that was a good excuse.

"Thank goodness. Okay, self-defense is a good lesson to take. I'm glad you're taking it," She says with a warm smile.

After that whole almost getting caught thing, May just had random chats with the guys. Then it was time for them to leave and May baked them some cookies before they left. This little meeting wasn't so bad, right? It could've been worse than. Like, a lot worse.
