《Her Strength, His Weakness》• Chapter Twenty Four •

Today is our last full day at the coast, which sucked.
I decided to spend my day at the beach and a some of the group joined me.
We set up the volley ball net and played girls against guys. The guys beat us every round that we had played, but to be fair it wasn't an evenly matched game. It's nearly impossible to beat three athletic male opponents, when you have two unathletic teammates who don't care about winning.
It is is also difficult to concentrate when my greek god of a boyfriend played the game in only his swim trunks. His toned abs and biceps were on full flex, and not to mention his beautifully sculpted back coming into full view every time he turned to high-five his friends.
"Can't you just let us win?" Erin complained.
"You don't want a false victory, do you?" Devin teased.
"What I want is to no longer have sand stuck to my sweat covered body." Caitlyn said.
"Charming." I mocked, cringing.
"If you're willing to agree that you gave up after loosing too many times, then we can stop." Archer said.
"That's fine by me." Erin said.
"Com'on guys. One more try." I pleaded, not wanting to loose.
"If you want to continue, then you'll fo it alone." Caitlyn said walking away in exhaustion.
I grunted in response.
"Don't be mad, Blondie." Archer teased as he came up next to me.
"Easy for you to say, Mr Three-wins-in-a-row." Archer chuckled.
"Four wins." He corrected. I gave him a death stare.
"Jeez." He said acting scared, placing his hands out between us to shield his face. I slapped him softly on his shoulder.
He moved his hands away from his face and used them to pull me into him.
"You're adorable." He said before kissing me on the head.
"Why thank you."
Archer grinned at me.
"I'll race you to the water." I Challenged.
"You can beat me." He said.
"I'm pretty fast."
"Okay. Fine." He agreed.
"On your marks. Get se-"
"Go!" He yelled.
He only had a split second advantage due to his cheating ways and I managed to keep at his heals. I was a small step away from beating him, but he increased his pace.
Shit.
We reached the water and Archer ran to where it was deep enough to dive. I stood waiting for him to resurface, ready to lecture him. When he did, he ran his hands over his face and then through his hair. He made his way over to where I was standing, probably holding a disapproving look on my face.
"Like I said, you can't beat me."
"You cheated." I stated.
"I won."
"You di-" I started, but before I could finish Archer had lifted me over his shoulder and started toward the deeper parts of the water.
I squirmed in attempt to break free form his ridiculously string hold, but it was no use.
"Admit that I won or I'll drop you." He teased.
"Archer! Put me down." I giggled out.
"One, Two-"
"You won!" I yelled. "Now put me down." I pleaded through laughter.
"That's better."
He placed me gently in the water, allowing my feet to settle firmly in the loose sand. He moved his hand to a loose strand of my hair and twirled it around his finger. His eyes lingered on my lips, before he looked up into my eyes.

"What?" I asked.
"Nothing." He said, dropping the strand of hair. He moved his hand to my cheek and stroked his thumb softly along my cheek bone. He sent shivers down my arms.
His lips found mine, not soon enough. He kissed me slowly, but it held some force. He placed his free hand on my hip and my hands found his wet hair. I could feel some of the sand that remained in his hair, which caused me to smile. I felt his lips turn up as he smiled in response. He pulled away.
"What?" He asked.
"You have so much sand in your hair." I laughed. He laughed as well.
After a moments pause he said, "We haven't kissed like that in a while."
"I know. Why?" I asked.
"I'm not sure, but I'm not going to let it happen again." He smirked.
"You two done?"
We both turned to face Devin.
"What?" Archer asked him annoyed.
"Everyone was thinking that we spend our last night at the restaurant, with the arcade, down the road." Devin said. "Considering it is already five O'clock and food is essential for life."
"That sounds like a well spent last night." I said.
"Sure." Archer said.
"Cool. We're leaving in twenty." He added before walking away.
Everyone had cleared off of the beach, except for Devin and Cody. They were walking back to the house with the volley ball and net in hand.
"We had better start getting ready, there isn't much time till we leave." I said.
Archer groaned. "Fine."
I laughed as we made our way back up to the house as well.
*****
I had managed to shower and wash my hair before I went to pick my outfit for our last night at the coast.
I chose to go with a mustard yellow dress with a floral pattern on it. I wore my denim jacket over it, but it was unlikely that I'd be needing it considering the lack of a breeze. The last few nights have been warm.
I did my hair up into a messy ponytail and put on some lipgloss.
When I was finished getting ready, I made my way to Archers room and knocked on the door. He didn't answer, so I eased the door open slightly and peaked inside. He wasn't there. He must already be down stairs.
I walked down the stairs and saw him sitting on the coach talking to Caitlyn and Jake. I smiled at his appearance. He looked comfortable, but gorgeous.
He was dressed in light denim jeans, white sneakers and a long sleeve white shirt.
Perfection.
I walked over to where they were sitting and took a seat next to Archer. I leaned my head on his shoulder and he looked down at me. He smiled.
"You look beautiful."
"Thank you." I said smiling.
He returned to his conversation with the other two and I sat listening to them, seldom giving my input.
When it was time to leave, we allied into the cars and drove to the restaurant.
When we arrived we were seated by a waitress and ordered our food.
"How is everyone feeling about getting our final reports in a few days time?" Erin asked.
"I'm nervous." Alice said. "It's our last high school report. It determines if we're getting into our chosen Universities or not."

"Now I'm nervous." Caitlyn said.
We all laughed.
"You guys will be okay. You always do well, there's no point in stressing." I attempted to comfort my friends.
They nodded in agreement.
"I hope that our tutor lessons have paid off." Archer said to me.
"You knew the work in our last session, so I have no doubt that you did well."
"Then we have our graduation ceremony." Cody said.
"Which will most likely be filled with many long winded speeches and crying." Devin added.
"It's our last few days as high school students. Savour them." I said. "I'm going to miss high school."
"I sure as hell won't." Caitlyn disagreed.
"Me neither." Devin said.
Archer looked down at me with a grin. I smiled back.
"Enough sadness, let's talk about our exciting futures rather." Jake added.
We all laughed.
"Such a dork." Erin teased, kissing him on the cheek.
*******
I spent some time with my friends while we ate one of the best meals I've ever tasted, which was a surprise considering that the place we were at was no five star restaurant. We joked and spoke about all the random things we could think of, like which One Directing singer was Alice's favourite, before and after the band broke up, and whether or not Cody would stay single forever. We stayed clear of anything school or life after school related, because it would kill the mood and stress us all out.
After dinner we all decided to head to the arcade to play some of the games. We divided into smaller groups and went our separate ways.
I went with Cody, Devin and Archer. We started at the Hoop Bowling game, then the Wack-a-Mole and were at the Basketball simulator last.
"Yes! Another one!" Cody cheered beside me as I attempted to shoot hoops. I was doing pretty well considering I had Cody screeching in my ear, but I laughed him off.
"Cody, You're going do make poor Aurora loose her hearing." Devin stated.
"I'm providing my much needed support."
Archer chuckled from where he was leaning against the side of the game.
It ended up only being the four of us wondering around the arcade together, because the others had a bet going on which one of them would be better at the zombie killer game, that we had passed a while after we entered the arcade. My money is on Caitlyn and her aggression.
"Yes! One thousand points." I cheered while doing a mini happy dance as the timer signalled the end of the round.
"And I would like to think that I was part of that accomplishment." Cody said smiling.
The other two laughed at him.
"My turn." Devin said. He put in his tokens and began his game. He turned to Cody and said, "Cody, I don't need your verbal support."
Cody pouted and looked sadly toward me, but Archer and I were too busy snickering into our hands to feel bad.
Devin continued to play with little regard for his friends feelings.
I leaned closer to Archer's head and asked, "Do you want to go to the boxing bag game thing that I saw near the entrance?"
Archer scrunched his eyebrows and smiled, "You want to do that? Haven't you seen me hit enough things before?"
"I could never get enough of it." I smiled playfully at him after playfully poking his bicep with my finger.
"I'll do it if you give it a try." He smirked and softly shoved me with his shoulder.
"Deal." I giggled in response.
"Hey, you two..." He paused, "Aurora and I are going to play something else, we'll see you later."
Cody waved us off with his arm, barely taking notice of anything that Archer had said and Devin didn't even spare us a thought.
I giggled and Archer lead me to the game that stood just by the entrance of the arcade. Two young teenage boys were busy at the game, both trying to out score each other and the previous high scores. We stood waiting for them to finish, watching as they argued who would come out better than the other.
It didn't take long for them to notice us waiting, so they took a step back from the machine and said, "You waiting to play?"
The one boy looked over at Archer and smiled, "I wanna see this." He grabbed his friends arm and moved him completely put of the way, as an indication that Archer should give it a try.
Archer smirked at me before moving to the machine, so I smiled and blew him a kiss.
He took his place in front of the punching bag and took a casual, but intimidating stance. One that I knew well. He took a hard swing with his right hand to the bag. The bag swung backward with huge amounts of force and made a loud wack sound as it came into contact with the force plate.
Archer took a step back, his posture returning back to a casual one. One of the teenager's eyes had widened slightly, while the other excitedly said, "Damn."
Archer looked over to me, smirking arrogantly, so I rolled my eyes. "You're turn, Blondie."
"I can't follow that." I moved backwards with my hands raised.
He gave me a warning look, but smiled. "We made a deal." He took advancing steps toward me, which caused me to let out a ridiculous squeal.
"Okay." I yelled in surrender.
I walked up to the machine and popped in a token, hearing it fall to the bottom to the coin box. I took the same stance that Archer had, the way taught me to before we started dating, and was ready to punch. I swung my right arm in the direction of the bag and made contact. The sound was satisfying, not as powerful as Archer's, but effective.
"That's my girl." Archer boasted as he came up behind me and I smiled like an idiot at his words.
"Thanks guys." I told the boys.
"Our pleasure." The one smirked.
"Your boyfriend is awesome." The other said.
"So are you." The first one complimented.
"Careful." Archer joked.
We walked away from the machine and I began to babble about how fun that was, Archer's arm snaked around my waist while he listened to my rambling.
