《Her Strength, His Weakness》• Chapter Twenty •

This morning has been great, fan-fucking-tastic kind of great.

I woke up with the most painful period cramps on this planet, I have a headache, my lower back is going through hell and my bed was stained with the blood of my uterus. Lovely.

I had to shower as soon as I stepped out of my bed and then afterward I had to change my bedding.

My body works weirdly. My period usually lasts nine days and my cycle is twenty-eight days, but I'm still slightly irregular. If I'm lucky I only get period cramps every two cycles, but it is as though the pain of what should have been the one month and then the next is rained soon me at once.

To top it all of, I've been having an overall anxious day.

The universe is out to get me.

On another note, I finished my first week of finals and I personally think that they went well. I was hoping that today, my one day off from studying, was going to be a good day.

I was wrong.

It was around two o'clock when I was pulled out of my self pity by the sound of my phone. I looked at the screen and a smile formed on my face.

Archie: Hey Ar. How are you?

Me: Hey. I feel like shit, thanks. And how are you?

Archie: Why, what's wrong?

Me: I started my period AND I'm having an anxious day. So it's just overall sucky.

Archie: Do you want to come over? I can take care of you😉

Archie: I can't come there, otherwise I would, but I'm babysitting the twins.

Me: Yeh, it might help to escape from my misery.

Archie: I'll come fetch you. I'm leaving now.

Me: Thanks, I'll see you soon. 😘

If this doesn't brighten my day up, then I'm not sure what will.

I have to change my clothes. I'm wearing my hobo-home-clothes, so I need to change into a more presentable look, otherwise Archer might realize that he's dating a hobo. I went with black leggings and a grey hoodie. Still comfortable, but appealing.

When I was finished getting ready I took a period painkiller, which work like a bomb, and put the box of painkillers in my bag.

The door bell rang downstairs, so I grabbed my things and bolted down the stairs. When I made it down I saw that my mom had answered the door.

"Oh that's very sweet, Archer." My mom said.

"Hey." I said walking up to them.

"Archer tells me that he's taking you over to his place. You're going to help babysits the twins."

"Yes. it's going to be great." I said. "Love you mom, I'll see you later." I gave her a kiss and then shut the door behind me.

Archer engulfed me into a hug, putting his arms tightly around my waist, placed his head on top of mine and picked me up off the ground slightly.

"I missed you." He said softly.

It's true we haven't seen a lot of each other over the last week, because of our finals. It's been all work, study and home life.

"I missed you too." I said pulling away and placing a kiss on his cheek.

Even thought it's only been a week, it feels like it's been forever. When you spend so much time with someone, but suddenly stop for a whole week, it feels unnatural.

We walked over to the car and I hopped inside. I was greeted by the twins from the backseat. "Aurora!" Espen shouted.

"Archer said that you are gonna play at our house today." Chris explained.

"Yes. Archer is right." I said happily.

"Yay!" The twins yelled.

I laughed and looked over at Archer, who was in the process of getting back onto road, smiling.

Archer had driven us toward the quick stop super market and parked in the parking lot. "Why are we here?" I asked confused.

"We're going to buy some junk food for you to consume." He explained.

I laughed. "Why?"

"'Because when a girl is upset, give her chocolate'." Archer quoted Cody and Devin from the night I had my panic attack at the club.

"Wow." I said laughing.

We all got out of the car. Archer came over to my side and took my hand in his. The twins ran up beside me and Espen grabbed my other hand, while Chris held Espen's. Adorable.

We walked through the entrance and Archer grabbed a shopping basket for our junk. We went straight for the sweet and salty isle. "Okay, you two can each pick one thing to put in the basket." Archer informed the twins. "You pick whatever you want." He said to me. I smiled at him.

I grabbed a pack of microwaveable popcorn, a bag of tomato flavored corn chips, the largest chocolate bar slab and a packet of jelly sweets.

"Aurora, please help me pick something." Espen asked me.

"Okay, sure." I said walking over to where she was standing. "What do you feel like?" I asked.

"I want this or this, but I can't choose." She said pouting and pointing to a chocolate bar with popping candy and a bag of biscuit covered chocolate balls.

"Well, Espen, you will get more out of this one, than you will of this. And this one is more fun." I said encouraging the popping candy covered chocolate.

"Your right." She said at the realization. "Thank you!" She gave me a hug.

"You're welcome." I said giggling.

The twins added their items to the basket and we went to checkout the products. After that we made our way back to the car.

After we got back into the car I thanked Archer. "Thank you. You're the sweetest human on this planet." I said placing a kiss on his cheek.

"Ew." I heard Chris from behind us.

"Sh, it's cute. Stop it Chris." Espen said.

I laughed at their display thy clearly demonstrated their differences.

We made our way back to Archers house and when we arrived there the twins hopped out of the car and bolted for the house door. We too got out of the car and grabbed all of the bags from the boot, I grabbed my 'period survival kit' that I had brought with, and we made our way toward the door as well.

When we were inside the twins were given their treats and then they ran to the living room. Archer and I followed them and took our seats on the couch, and placed our snacks next to us. Archer grabbed a fluffy blanket and covered the two of us with it. He placed his arm around my shoulders and pulled me into him. I leaned as far into him as I could go, absorbing his sent and his heat. Comfort.

"You Guys, put in a movie for us to watch." Archer instructed his siblings.

"Okay!" They cheered. I laughed at their adorable ness.

After discussing which movie to watch, the twins finally shoved in a movie and took their seats on the other couch beside the one we were on.

"What did you put in?" I asked.

"Lady and the Tramp." Espen called.

I heard Archer groan beside me and I laughed at his reaction. "Shut up." I said to him giggling.

The movie started and I started on the snacks. This was a good idea, because I'm already feeling ten times better.

After a whole of watching and snacking I was completely snuggled comfortable against Archer as we watched the movie. I started to doze off somewhere, halfway through. So I placed my arm around Archer's torso and placed my head on his chest getting comfortable, allowing myself to fall asleep.

*~*

I woke up in a dimmed room with the TV off. The only noise was coming from the kitchen.

I checked the clock on my phone, 6:04. I've been asleep for three hours. Shit. I stood up and wobbled my way over to the kitchen in a sleepy daze, but only to find Debra and the twins busy with their own things. Debra was cooking and the twins were playing with their toys on the counter.

"Oh, hello dear." Debra greeted. "It's good to see you awake."

"I'm so sorry if I've been an inconvenience, I'm not sure why Archer would leave me to sleep like that." I apologized.

"Oh no. It's no problem. Archer told me about your constant difficulty in finding sleep, so I understand how tired you must be." She said reassuringly. "I want you to feel at home here."

"Okay thank you so much." I said still feeling a little bad. "Where is Archer?" I asked.

"He just went to his room, I'm not sure what for." She replied. "I'm sure he won't mind if you go up to check what he up to."

"Okay, thank you."

I made my way down the passage to Archer's room. When I came to the door I knocked on it softly, before stepping inside. Archer was pulling a shirt over his head as I walked in, closing the door behind me. His hair was wet and there was a towel hung over his desk chair. He turned around at the sound of my presence.

"Hey, Blondie. You're awake." He said smiling.

"Yeh. I haven't slept that well since I was seven." I said laughing.

He walked over to me and wrapped his hands around my waist. "Did you shower?" I asked the obvious.

"No." Archer said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes, but he smiled.

Archer leaned his head towards mine and softly grazed his lips over my own. I wrapped my hands around his neck, inviting his kiss in. He walked me backward against the wall and put his one hand next to me on the wall's surface and the other on the side of my face. He trailed soft kissed from where my shoulder meets my neck up to the spot just below my ear. My hands were in his wet hair. He placed his lips against mine and I kissed him back with more force than I would usually. I tugged softly on the strands of his hair and he let out a soft sound. I smiled. He deepened the kiss and pinned me further against the wall.

He eventually moved back in need for air, our faces only centimeters apart. He leaned his head softly against mine and his one hand played with a strand of my blond hair.

My feelings for Archer have grown so much over the last few months that I've known him. He is an amazing friend, brother, son, boyfriend and person. He makes me feel important and safe, but still has the ability to give me the most overwhelming butterflies.

I've had my suspicions that o was completely falling for Archer, but now I'm sure if it.

I looked into Archer's blue eyes, emotions pooling around in them.

"What are you thinking about?" He asked me.

"Nothing." I whispered with a smile.

He raised an eyebrow, but placed a kiss on my forehead rather than interrogate me further.

"We should get you home." He said. Sadly he's right.

"Ugh, I know. Can't we just stay like this forever?" I asked.

"I wish, but there's still life." He said chucking as he pulled away.

"Let's go." I said grabbing his hand and pulling him forward. I grabbed my things on the way out and I said goodbye to Archer's family. The twins gave me a hug each and so did Debra.

Afterward we went to the car and Archer drove me home.

The whole way all I could think about was the extent of my feelings for Archer. I wonder if he feels as strongly about me.

The only thing that I know for sure is:

1: I love Archer Smith.

2: I have no idea what I'm going to do about it.
