"Eye contact, then that little smile."

-Ren's POV-

"Once again, Maddie wins!" She squeals, throwing her hands in the air. Watching her smile this big made me happy. "Aw, no fair." I fake pout. "This controller must be bugged!" Maddie smiles at me, her eyes twinkling under the living room lights. "Can't accept defeat prince charming?" She teases, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

Damn that was cute.

I clear my throat, looking away as my cheeks heated up slightly. "F-Fine." I say, trying to sound upset as I furrowed my eyebrows. In all honesty, she was a really good player. But I felt disappointed in myself because I had set my mind to win the bet so that I had an excuse to hang out with her more. Maybe treat her to a nice restaurant or take her to Disneyland.

"So about the bet, I could let you do anything?" Maddie asks. I nod slowly. "Well," She mutters, tapping her chin. "Maybe just treat me out to TacoBell everyday." My eyes widened. TacoBell? Other girls usually want to be treated to an extravagant restaurant or gifted lavish jewelry. I ain't complaining though, more money to save I guess?

"Well, not really everyday. Maybe occasionally, but we don't need it to be TacoBell you know? We could also eat at Popeyes or maybe a tiny cafe with those little tea cups and cupcakes with cute sprinkles and toppings. O-Or maybe we could go out and eat lunch together in a restaurant to your convenience?" She rambles obviously flustered, emphasizing on some words as her cheeks slowly flushes a tint of red.

"You're cute." I mindlessly blurt out.

She snaps her head in my direction, her cheeks burning furiously. "Wha—I think you're cute too? I mean, I'm cute. No wait...uh, thanks?" She sheepishly shoots me a grin. Grabbing her controller, she selects a new game.

"Up for another game, pretty boy?" She asks, tossing me my controller. I smile as I click on my character. "You bet." I smirk, slightly. "This time, I'm going to win this game."

"I'd like to see you try."

"We'll see, princess. We'll see."

And that's how the rest of the day went, us playing games and having fun. We ended up sharing some stories of what has happened after we parted. How she established her own company, met new people and so on. I wish I could stay by her side like this, but I guess I wished for too much.
