《D for Depression》Chapter 6: Trouble pt 2

I feel my body pushed forward, as a strong hand grips my arm.

Immediately, two pers of eyes look at our direction. Shit.

''Well, hello there girls.'' A tall, skinny guys says.

He is the one who suggested they ''share'' Zoey. Asshole.

''How can we help you in this fine evening?'' he sarcastically continues.

I feel the need to slap this stupid smirk out of his face, but I hold myself. If we want to get out of this situation without trouble, we have to be smart.

''We were looking for our friend. Is there any chance you've seen her?'' I ask staring at Dylan's side. The girl he was holding a minute ago, is nowhere to be found.

What the fuck?

''How does your friend look like?'' he asks, pretending to care, when we both know he doesn't give a shit.

''Short, brunette, curly hair?'' I say.

''She was wearing a pink strapless crop top and black bell-bottom pants. Heels also.'' Mikaela adds.

''Mmm...no, I don't think so, but she definitely sounds hot'' the first guy says laughing.

''Is that so? Maybe your friend over there knows.'' I continue staring at him.

''Dylan, do you perhaps know any chick looking like that?'' He asks his friend.

Dylan pretends to think for a moment, before he negatively responds.

''Nah...I think I would remember a girl like her.''

I feel the need to run over him and punch his face. Who the hell does he think he is?

''See I told you. We haven't seen her.'' The first one says. ''But since you guys are here why don't we all hang out together?'' he suggests with a smug look.

''I don't think so. We still need to find our friend. But thanks for the offer.'' Mikaela responds.

''Mmmm that's disappointing.'' He says, looking down.

''But we can't keep you here without your will, right?'' he adds the last sentence, looking directly into my eyes and I shiver.

''No, you can't.'' I respond firmly, holding my ground.

The air becomes thinner as we continue our stare game. I'm not backing up, but neither does he.

My heart starts to pound, as I realize we are not going to make it out of here easily.

A negative vibe fills the room and I feel my anxiety kick in. He looks at me as if he is planning my death.

Don't panick.

''Eric don't scare the girls like that. They are going to think we're threatening them.'' The guy who found us says.

''And we don't want that right?'' he adds, with a smile.

Although, we all see the meaning behind it. It is too obvious.

They ARE threatening us, but they also aware of the fact, we found their hide out and we can easily expose them.

After a few seconds, Eric cracks a smile, not a real one obviously, and says.

''Of course not.''

But the way he said it...It's so intimidating, enough to give me chills and a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Something about him is off. Dylan and the other guy look like the typical bad boys, you can find out in every high school or college. Arrogant, cocky, with a huge attitude and a muscular body. Probably athletes.

Cliché.

But he...he looks so different. The way he changes his mood from serious, to flirty and then dangerous. The way he looks at me as if he mentally addresses me.

Not only physically, but emotionally too.

It makes me feel uneasy. He is the ''brain'' of the group and he shows it.

He is probably kind of unstable too, otherwise he wouldn't need his friend to talk him off earlier.

It screams loose cannon from miles away, and all I want to do is get out of here as soon as possible.

''Well, we should get going, come on Daphne.'' Mikaela speaks my thoughts, tugging me with her.

''One more thing girls.'' He says and I lowkey freak out.

Please let it go.

''How did you find this place?'' He asks, raising an eyebrow.

''Umm...it's not like a big secret. We knew the east wig was under renovation and we thought we give it a chance. In case she left with a boy.'' I lie, as convincing as I can.

He stares at me darkly and I know he didn't believe me. But he doesn't question me either.

We turn around to leave, when a quite whine stops us. Me and Mikaela look at each other. I know we both want to get out of here, but I can't ignore the fact Zoey could be in that room. And bringing the police here would take so much time.

What if they hurt her?

From what I've seen it's not unlikely. Especially with that creep. Eric.

No, I can't do that. I can't leave her.

I look for the source of the sound, but Dylan blocks my view.

''Do you need me to accompany you outside? It's a dangerous place to be on your own'' he says.

''And you just love to help people. Right Dylan?'' I sarcastically respond.

''Well...'' he starts, but Eric quickly interrupts him.

''We are doing our best to be gentlemen'' he says, walking towards me.

''Of course you are.'' I smile ironically and his face becomes serious at once.

''But you don't want a gentleman. Right Daphne?''

The way he said my name turns my insides out and not in a good way.

I feel disgusted from the meaning of his words and an uncertain feeling grows in me. It's like my body is warning me to shut it and run away. But my mind doesn't let me.

I look at him with a blank face and growl on a low tone, ''Don't you ever speak to me that way.''

Everybody hold their breaths as if they are waiting for a bomb to explode. We can even hear the tik tok sound.

But nothing happens.

I broke our gaze and turn to Dylan, ''Move away.'' He stares at me shocked as I repeat.

''Move-out-of-the-way.''

The girl whines again, and I can see some moving behind the table in the corner of the room. There are a lot of supplies scattered, along with plastic curtains and machines.

Probably for the worker's job. Dylan must've hide her under it when his friend found us.

I try to push him off, but Eric grabs me.

''I guess you want it in the hard way'', he whispers to my hair, sniffing my smell and I mentally puke.

I spat.

''Feisty. Mmm I love it.'' He says chuckling darkly.

I try to get away from his embrace, but he doesn't let me go. He presses himself on my back holding my hands to his fists.

While I'm too occupied trying to break free, Mikaela finds a piece of wood, hitting the other guy on the back.

Only it doesn't work out as she wanted.

The guy is five times bigger than the other two and quite taller. Which basically means he didn't even flinch.

Turning around he grabs her by the waist lifting her of the ground.

Mikaela keeps kicking around and she finally gets to hit Dylan, who was trying to catch her legs. Her heel find him directly across the face, and a crack gives the cue she broke his nose.

If I wasn't trying to break free from the freak behind me, I would've high five her.

''Stop fighting babygirl'' he says, dragging me by the waist. His one hand sneaks under my top and I feel him touching my breast, while he uses the other one to close my mouth.

I bite him and manage to get out of his hold.

Running towards Mikaela, I grab the wood she used before and hit the guy.

I'm taller than her and most of the girls in general, so I succeed a good hit on the back of his head. He immediately falls down, while we both run to the exit.

Only I don't make it.

The moment she pushes the door, a hand grabs me by my hair, yanking me down.

I scream from the sudden pain that came to my head, but not before I yell at her.

''Run!''
