Ava

"Would you like to have another one ma'am?"

"I wanna try the strawberry cheesecake."

"One-second ma'am." I nodded my head waiting for the girl to give the strawberry cheesecake. I was wandering around clicking a few pictures when I found this little cafe. I carved for a chocolate muffin and here I am.

"Here you go ma'am." I paid the good girl who behaved properly with the customers. She respected the customers which made me smile.

I took my cheesecake, moved towards the end table which is the only table left. I kinda felt awkward as everyone here are with someone to hang out while I stood alone.

When I was about to take a bite of the good looking cake my phone started blaring in my pocket. I fished it out to see who is that. It was mum.

"Hey, mum!"

"Hi sweetheart, how are you?"

"I'm good and you mum?"

"I and dad are good but are you coming home? It's been two months that you visited us last time." she signed.

"I'm sorry, I was having my semester exams. I will be coming for Christmas and I will be home for new year's eve."

"Really?!" I chuckled listening to her excitement.

"Yes mom, I'm going to be home for two weeks."

"Good... Good... I miss you all, it's really boring without you, Vincent, Brad, Axel, celeb..."

I signed leaning against the chair "Mom why don't we plan for something? We will go and meet Vincent."

"That's a good idea darling. I will talk to your dad. I miss your brother."

I spoke with her for a while before ending the call as my eye caught something or should I say, someone. I don't know why he is here, he was looking at the different kinds of sweets on the display. Everyone in the room turned towards him with curious eyes.

He successfully ignored me for five months now, from little information I got to know that he got selected in UFC. The knockdown session ended making him popular from where an important man related to UFC saw Brad fighting.

I was there on the final match with the help of Siana, remember the girl who was with Brad's coach Conner. Siana is so different from me and the friends I know.

She is like a flying bird who doesn't like to stay in one place, she is very inquisitive to explore the places. She is very wild compared to my boring self.

She is kind even though her personality is very wild. She makes jokes on little things, makes you laugh. She is a good friend of mine now. Because of her, I got to know about Brad's whereabouts, he literally started behaving like he doesn't know me.

He don't even message me or calls me. Not that he messaged or called me before, I don't even know if he had my number in his phone.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when my phone started blaring again. I looked at where Brad was a few minutes ago to find no-one. He must've gone, I wonder for whom he is here. Brad doesn't like sweets, he can't eat chocolate which surprised me when I saw him for the first time in our home.

I remember the day clearly, my mom made him her famous hot chocolate specially for him but he frowned, his cute little nose puckered seeing the chocolate.

My mum asked him what's wrong or if he doesn't like hot chocolate, his cheeks turned red before telling us that he doesn't like sweets and chocolate. I gasped listening to his words, that's when his eyes met mine for the first time. I let out another soft gasp looking at his beautiful eyes, no-one knows this but I am kinda jealous of his eyes, he got hazel eyes with green flecks.

It was Poppy asking me where I'm, I replied to her that I will be coming in ten minutes. I'm done eating my cake, I collected my things and walked to where the bus station is. Thankfully there is a direct bus to where I live.

The bus wasn't packed, there were seats to sit which I'm thankful of. I took a seat in the middle and looked out of the window. The roads were bustling with people and I liked watching faces.

I walked to my dorm, smiled and waved my hand to the people whom I know. I unlocked my dorm room to see it empty. I thought Poppy was here, I put my bag on the table before plopping on my soft bed. I closed my eyes, I was about to sleep when I heard the door open.

"Ava there is someone who is looking for you." I lifted my head off the pillow to see Kim whose room is adjacent to us.

"Who?"

"He didn't say his name, he asked someone to call you. And they told me to inform you. He is waiting near the garden area."

I had a confused face, I put on my slippers wandering to the garden area. I'm sleepy and tired, I was surprised seeing a familiar figure standing near the bench with his back facing me. There was no-one around to see us.

"Brad?" he turned around, I gave him a questioning look.

"What are you doing here?" I padded near him.

"I came to see you."

"Ohh."

"Hmm." We both stood there awkwardly not knowing what to say.

"Why were you asking others to call me. You could've call me." I remember giving him my number but he never called me.

"I kind of lost it, I'm using another number now. I don't have your number."

"Ohh..." he was looking at my face and I need to strain my head to see him.

"I'm moving to Las Vegas."

"Huh?" I gazed at him in surprise.

"I got selected in UFC and they need me to move to Las Vegas for training." his face is blank as always but his eyes were looking here and there.

"Congratulations Brad, that's good." I smiled even though it hurt.

"You will be leaving after Christmas?" I asked him knowing he won't be saying anything until unless I ask.

"No, I'm leaving tomorrow." I cringed a little as my smile left my face.

"And you are telling me now?" he flinched before keeping his face blank.

"Hmm, I don't know when I will be back. I wanted to give you these." he replied handing me his keys.

"Why are you giving me apartment keys?"

"I won't be there for a year or more. I don't know what to do with my apartment. You can stay there and take care of my place." I took the keys from his hands and tried my hardest not to show my feelings.

"You sure?"

"Yes." I heard him taking a step close to me.

"Give me your number so that I can inform you about the place." I say handing him my phone. He took my phone into his and started typing. He handed me back pushing his hands into his pockets.

"You are going home?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm done with my exams. I need to attend our college annual event before I leave home."

"Vincent is coming home?"

"No, mum actually feels sad as we all drifted. She misses all of you, I thought maybe you will be joining us this Christmas Eve." His face softens hearing my words.

"I can't." I nodded my head understanding.

"We may go to London to meet Vincent, he doesn't like to come back."

He was about to say something when his phone started ringing. He pulled his phone, he got an irritating look on his face.

"I need to go." I absentmindedly nodded my head looking at my feet.

"Take care Ava." I heard him whisper. I thought he left but what startled me as he kissed my forehead wrapping his hand around my neck. We aren't hugging, he stood in front of me and his lips stayed against my forehead for a little time before he pushed himself off.

"I will text you and this is for you." he took a paper cover off the bench which I didn't see. I got the cover from his hands and gazed at him. He studied my face as if he is remembering every detail of my face, he looked hesitated for a second before turning around.

"Study well." I waved my free hand as he pulled his hood on and went away. I watched his retreating figure.

I unlocked my phone to see he saved his name as Brad Mckarthy. I chuckled as he saved his full name, I don't know how he got his surname.

I opened the paper bag to see boxes of cupcakes, my eyes widen in delight as cupcakes are my favourite.

He went to that cafe to buy me cupcakes. He is moving to Las Vegas and I can't do anything now, I know there isn't going to be any chances of me with him. It's impossible because I think Brad treats me as a sister.

I stood there as a dark look clouded over me making my insides churn thinking about Brad. I really believed that there is a chance of Brad and I but all the hopes went down.

I started crying knowing he wont be returning back soon and the little strength which I gained to tell him about my feelings vanished into thin air.
