After I had agreed to everything, preparations were instantly made. The caterers were called, the event planning began, everything was in constant motion. Not knowing what to do with myself, I excused myself from all the uproar and made my way to my new witch's chamber.

The natural light flooded in through the wall-to-wall windows, the sheer curtains not preventing any ray from not coming in. It felt so warm and comfortable here. Plants were scattered throughout the room, not yet being under a spell but they would be soon because of how forgetful I could be with things like that.

Walking to the podium, not in search for anything in particular, I leaf through my spell book. I go through the countless pages that I had gone through before, just trying to do something while all the chaos was arising downstairs. As I was aimlessly leafing through, I suddenly stop, caught on a page.

It was a page that was always in this book, I had always looked over because I hadn't yet needed it. But, seeing it now, I couldn't believe how I didn't think of this before. On this specific page was the name of the demon that was after me: Ramono.

Unlike other demons and spells that were listed in my book, this didn't have a physical picture of him. Just his eyes. Reading further into him, I learned that he was a special kind of demon. A demon that could do just about any and everything known to man. Transportation, invisibility, hypnosis, taking on the form of just about any living thing. This man was a force to be reckoned with and I would be lying if I said that I wasn't terrified of him coming after me.

Reading into him further, it only confused me on why he was after someone like me. Maria? Sure. She was fighting demons and just trying to make where she lived safer, I could understand how a man like Romano would be threatened by that. But I had been locked away in an attic for nine years, I had only had my witch and werewolf training to further understand myself, and was a chef for a couple of months. I didn't understand what was threatening about me. It didn't make any sense whatsoever.

He could do much more than anything I could ever do, especially if he been around for centuries.

What made this profoundly harder was the fact that he took the body of any living thing, making it hard to understand what he'd look like in the end. I was to never know if I was dealing with him or just someone else.

Feeling the need to step away, to get my bearings, I turn to the window, feeling the sun encamp itself around me. I sigh, only feeling even more confused and frustrated than I already had. Not wanting to go into a set of depression because of my lack of knowledge, I begin to prepare a spell for the plants.

Grabbing a random bowl, I went down the hall to fill it with water. Once back inside, I begin to mix herbs and a potion Jemma had taught me to make. Chanting a spell as I whisked it together, I put it in a watering can and begin to water the countless plants in their prime.

As I was finishing, I hear pages turning. Turning my head to the noise, I hear it coming from the podium. No one was standing there, just the pages of my spellbook turning. Placing the watering can down, I walk over to the book to see it still flipping pages.

I couldn't say I was confused, mainly just surprised. With everything I have come to see in my life, unexplainable things really didn't need to be explained. A magical flipping paged spellbook was something I wasn't expecting but it's what's happening right now. Right before my eyes.

They continued to flip until they reached its destination page.

"Okay," I say to myself, leaning over the book to see what spell it stopped itself at. "Oh my god."

This was it.

This is exactly what I needed.

"Babe," Garret says walking in, scaring me nearly half to death. "Sorry," he says instantly. "I would've thought you felt me coming."

"I was distracted," I say quickly, bringing my eyes back to the book, rereading the page again and again.

"What is it?" he questions, walking inside.

"An eye for an eye spell."

"Okay... what does that mean?"

"Literally what it sounds like. I give my eye for another eye."

"Right, okay, why would you do that?"

I sigh, realizing that everything I had learned in the past hour was all by myself. "Okay, Romano-"

"Demon."

"Yes. Takes on different forms that are living."

"So he can look like a different human or animal?"

"Yes!"

"Which makes that hard for you. How are you supposed to know what he looks like?"

"Exactly. Which led me to this spell, an eye for an eye."

"I doubt he'd allow you to take his eye, regardless of how precious your eyes are."

"It's not like my eye would change from a human one to whatever the hell he is. I would just get to see what he sees, so I can tell where he is and who he is portraying maybe."

"Okay but it's still a risk. Will he be able to see what you see? Will it have a vice-versa effect?"

I sigh, looking at the page again and not seeing the cons of doing this spell. I should've known that would've happened but one could only hope. Thinking it through, it suddenly dawned on me.

"Oh my god, that's it."

"What's it?"

"Masking myself."

"Isn't that what you did so no one could trace you?" I looked at him, waiting for him to understand. "Oh my god, that's it."

Masking myself would disconnect me from the supernatural world. No one would be able to sense me, no one could try to penetrate through my spell, it was perfect.

"You won't be able to smell me anymore," I say softly.

But I'll always be here.

I smile softly, hearing him in my head. Though I wasn't linked to the pack, I was linked to him, through him marking me during our mate bond.

"Do what you need to do," he says softly, pressing his forehead against mine. "If it'll help catch this son of a bitch, then do it."

"You don't understand how much I love you so much right now," I say, feeling my body fill with warmth and love.

"Mmm," he says deeply in this throat, sounding somewhat like a growl. "Can't be much different than how I feel about you right now."
