I wasn't sure how long I was out for. I didn't know what time of day it was.
I just knew that I was in pain of all the hurt I had caused.
I woke up to not feeling Garret in bed. I felt him in the house at least. But I could still feel how upset he was.
Was he avoiding me?
I started to move in the bed, beginning to get up.
Having not opened my eyes, I suddenly felt his presence.
"What are you doing here Bernie?" I croaked out.
Slowly opening my eyes, feeling how sore and tired they felt, I saw him through my blurry vision. He looked so guilty, so upset. And I got all of that from a facial expression. I looked at him confused, wincing at the headache that quickly came about.
"What is it?"
"I... I'm sorry," he said softly.
"What is it?" I ask. He didn't respond. "Did something happen? Is Garret okay?" Automatically assuming the worse, I quickly get out of bed, running towards my bedroom door. Bernie beats me there, standing in front of it before I could even reach the doorknob. "I need to see if he's alright, where is he?!"
My heart was racing. I was terrified. Had something happened to him while I was out? Did he hurt himself after he left the house out of being mad at me? Did I cause something terrible to happen?
My mind was reeling. I couldn't see straight.
I was fighting against Bernie to get through the door.
"Garret's fine!" he quickly spurts out. "There's nothing wrong with him."
I stopped fighting. My body still wanted to go see him to make sure but now that I knew that there wasn't any potential threat to him, I ceased. He needed his space, I knew that. I slowly backed up and sat on the couch in front of the bed, lost in thought.

"Then... why are you apologizing to me?"
He opened his mouth to respond but was cut short by the door bursting open. A tired and angry Garret came in, fuming.
"What is going on?!" he yelled. He looked at me, and then at Bernie. "What did you do to her?!" Quickly, so quick that I didn't even catch it, he had Bernie against a wall by his neck, squeezing hard. Bernie just stood there. "You might be dead but I will make you pay for whatever you did."
"I didn't do anything," he said.
"Garret please," I croak out. "I thought something had happened to you, I was scared is all."
"I'm fine," he says bitterly, releasing Bernie, looking at me with nothing but hurt in his eyes. Lillian whimpered under his gaze. I felt my lip tremble as I looked at away, not being able to hold his stare. "What is going on, what are you doing in here with her?"
"I came here to tell her something, something important."
"What?!" he questioned.
"Emerald," he began. I looked at him, wiping my tears. "You asked me how she died."
"Maria," I say softly.
He nodded. "And you told me I didn't have to tell you because it wasn't your business."
"It wasn't," I say confused.
"But it is."
"How is it?" I question. He sighed, looking down at the ground. I quickly got up, walking towards him. Garret stepped aside, not saying anything, just watching this all unfold. "Bernie, what do I need to know?"
"That she died... fulfilling her prophecy. You have to end it. You have to end him."
"End what? End who? What is it?"

"Romano," he said. Never hearing the name but feeling the weight behind it, I froze.
"Is he?"
"Yes. He's the one who kilt her and he's the one that'll kill you."
I blinked, feeling tears beginning to form again but I suppressed them. "She didn't have a choice, did she? Whether she lived or died?"
He shook his head, sadness was written all over his face. "She said she fulfilled her prophecy, that it was up to you now." I groaned. "I'm so sorry I didn't realize it earlier. I didn't know who she was referring to... I didn't know that she meant you."
I just blinked. A lot of emotions racked through my body. Confusion, terror, but most of all anger. Not saying a word, I left them there as a headed to my chambers. I hear Garret call for me but it doesn't stop me.
I make inside the room before I felt his touch on me. I softly gasp at the contact, the tingles shooting across my body. Lillian whimpered again, satisfied by the contact.
I disregard it and begin to scream.
"We need to talk!" I scream. "Right now!"
"Emmy," Garret says confused.
"Do you hear me?! I need to talk to you, both of you! Now!"
"Babe." I feel Garret place his hand on my shoulder but I motion with my hand that pushes him back a good five steps. He stumbles over his feet and falls. I quickly turn, not realizing I had done it, and move to see if he was okay.
"Garret..."
As I moved towards him, I suddenly became dizzy and weight fall on me. All too quickly, I see black, and I was out.
"Emerald," a soft voice.
I opened my eyes almost instantly, seeing Luna and Venus leaning over me as I laid down. Disregarding the dizziness I felt, I sat up quickly. The moved out the way as I stood before them.
"Why did she die?!" I yell.
"Emerald," Venus says.
"No! How could you not tell me that there was someone before me who died from whatever this thing is?! I think that's vital information!"
"It wouldn't have done you any good," Venus continues.
"How is that your decision to make?! You've both been so vague on everything! I've felt alone trying to deal with all of this! I thought I was the only one!"
"Emerald-" Luna starts.
"Unless you are going to tell me what I want to know, with no short, vague, response, I don't want to hear it! I deserved to know!"
They sigh.
"You're right," Luna says. "We might've thought it wasn't fit for you to know but that wasn't our decision to make."
"We're sorry," Venus says.
"I want to know. Everything."
