Knox’s POV

After spending the day with the kids, Sophia and I were tucked into our bed, simply enjoying the time together. Alone time for us was so precious since it was a rare occurrence lately. Not that I am complaining, but with the increase of people also meant the increase in planning and organization. Thank heavens I had Vlad here assisting me in managing all of this.

His recommendation on appointing a Beta for each species was genius. Each species required certain needs and instead of dealing with the whole group, only the new Beta was knocking on my door. The new system seemed to be working great, problems were getting solved faster and more efficiently.

Looking down I noticed Sophia had drifted off to sleep. My mate was so beautiful and truly was my everything. Without her I was nothing. It terrified me that I would lose her and even though she has all this power she is still killable.

And I cannot forget about my precious daughter Ella. I loved her so much and she meant to me as much as Noah did, even though I am not her real father. Today she had me laughing so hard when she kept having flowers pop up around Noah, annoying him. The poor boy would be sitting there and all of a sudden he would be surrounded by rows of flowers. Angry at her he would get up and move. By the end of the morning the field looked beautiful with all the different flowers she created, a true masterpiece if you ask me.

Noah on the other hand didn’t like being teased by his little mate, and just got mad. After lunch she hugged him and had flowers pop up spelling out I’m Sorry. Sophia and I fell over we were laughing so hard and after a few minutes Noah joined in. My boy was going to have his hands full when she grew up, at least he would never get bored!

Closing my eyes I drifted off to sleep dreaming of my mate and kids…

ALPHA! ALPHA!

Snapping my eyes open I rubbed them trying to get the sleep out of them. What is it Harry?

They are approaching Alpha. I see wolves approaching from the Northside. ETA is 10minutes. What are our orders Sir?

Prepare your men and wait for my command.

Yes Alpha!

Sitting up I gently woke Sophia from her sleep, her confused eyes looked at me.

Attention all, prepare for attack. Women and children please make your way to the underground safe rooms. You all have your orders, wait for my commands.

Sophia jumped up and threw on some clothes, grabbing me she kissed me deeply. “Be careful my love and don’t do anything stupid. I will join you once I have the kids secure.”

Before I could reply she bolted to the kid’s room. I really wish she would stay with them, but that argument did not go over well. Let’s just say my office needed a remodel anyway.

Pulling up my shorts I headed outside and made my way to our large field. Wolves, panthers, bears, vampires, and all the others were already starting to gather. As I walked towards the center I reminded everyone to stay in human form. When we shifted I wanted the element of surprise.

Our border patrols were making their way into the field as pre-planned.

“Alpha, they are now crossing are borders, all of our men are present except the three.”

Nodding I waited.

Behind me the crowd parted and bowed as my mate made her way to me. The women and children were secure and the house was surround by our warriors as a precaution. Linking her hand with mine we stood with our pack.

A few minutes later wolves began to appear at the tree line of the forest.

Harry, what is your count?

About 1100 Alpha.

Stand by.

The large grey wolf in the center shifted. Alpha George I presumed. His eyes roamed up and down the field before the zeroed in on Sophia.

I released a growl when I noticed his target. Sophia’s hand lightly squeezed mine, “Don’t worry babe, we got this.”

“Well I see our plan for a surprise didn’t work out as well as I hoped, but no worries. Alpha Knox if you would like to surrender now, I promise none from your pack will be harmed?”

Keeping my face blank I stared this asshole down. “And why would I do that Alpha George? As you can see we are prepared to fight for our land and pack.”

His face had a moment of shock as he heard his name before turning hard once again.

“Ah yes, we knew all about you Alpha George. See the thing is you can never trust a traitor. Where are my men that you have persuaded to turn against their Alpha?”

I could see the fumes coming out of Alpha George’s ears. He turned and yelled to the back. I watched as the three traitors were brought forward and pushed to the ground.

Gasps filled the field as my pack took in three of their own. Craig, the wolf who questioned my abilities when Sophia first arrived, hung his head down in shame. I could feel his father was seething at his sons actions, ashamed for them.

The other two wolves were cronies of his, friends from childhood. They just chose to follow him down the wrong path.

“As you can see Alpha George, one is missing. I am not sorry to say that he was dealt with in the manner all traitors are dealt with. You just cannot find a good traitor these days…”

The Alpha was pissed. Calling forward three men Craig began to beg…

“He is lying Alpha George, we did not tip him off, I swear. I kept my loyalty to you. He is weak and not fit to be Alpha or Prime. Please…”

Without further hesitation the three warriors were dropped to the ground, their lifeless bodies staring back at the pack they betrayed. I felt bad for the parents of the boys, and made a note to comfort them once this was all over. It was not their fault their children were disloyal.

“Well Alpha Knox you may have been prepared for our arrival, but true betrayal is more than the three boys lying at my feet…” Nodding his head he smirked at me.

Taking his cue, Vlad and his men began to cross the imaginary line between the two packs and joined the ranks of Alpha George.

As planned shocked gasps filled the field as the vampires switched sides. Alpha George looked confident as Vlad approached him.

“Now Alpha Knox, I will give you one more opportunity to surrender, as you can see we have you out numbered.”

A quiet chuckle came from my mate. I had bend my head to hide my smile. I loved it when plans came together. I raised my head after composing myself.

“If it is alright with you Alpha George, I think we will take our chances.”

On my command the field was soon filled with a variety of animals: bears, panthers, tigers, wolves, lions and even a few leopards. We were definitely a sight to see and it was not something anyone would expect, especially Alpha George.

A few members of his line shifted back a little as they took in the army that stood before them.

Harry are your men in position?

Yes Alpha.

“Well Alpha Knox it will be a pleasure tearing apart your pack of misfits, you should feel embarrassed at allowing these outcasts to even step foot on your property.”

“That is where you are wrong, I am honored to have each and every one of them as part of the Lovell Pack!”

“Not for long Alpha.” With that he shifted and began to charge.
