《Alpha Daryl Reeds》Chapter 26

"Well?" I asked the doctor.
"You're in fact pregnant Luna. Honestly it only takes one time." The doctor said.
"I had a question." I say twisting my fingers around and around. "How long does it take to get pregnant?"
"Well for a werewolf we find out sooner than a human thanks to our wolves."
"Can I ask how far along I am?" I asked the doctor. She looked at me weirdly but went to get the machine that shows you the baby.
"This will be cold." She says as she puts stuff on my stomach.
She moved the thing around, she blinked a few times before turning to me. "You're pretty far along. Didn't your wolf tell you sooner?"
"No, she only told me when we were in the middle of the fight." I tell her looking around the hospital it looked like it did after the last attack, people running to and from and it looked like a madhouse.
"Well you're almost 6 months how could you not know before that?"
"6 months??? No no no you got to be wrong."
"No sudden change in your eating? Sleeping all the time?"
"Only when I first got here I didn't eat for 3 months and I slept all the time." I answered.
"Well not eating is not part of pregnancy but sleeping is."
"I've shifted since then, I didn't go six months without shifting into my wolf." I tell her.
"What's the matter, why are you so worried? Daryl will love kids." she tells me.
"Because it isn't Daryl's baby." I mutter.
"What?" she asked me, looking at me weird again.
"It's a long story, but no this isn't Daryl's baby I was hoping it was, I didn't know I was pregnant before, no weight grain, no eating all the time no crying no nothing."

"Looks like you need to talk to Daryl."
"Yeah looks like I do."
************
I walked back and forth in the mirror feeling so stupid for not noticing that I was in fact pregnant. Only with one baby which was probably why I didn't notice. I was also told I carried my baby more in the back of me, instead of the front.
I had put on some weight but I thought it was just because I was starting to eat normal again. I left the hospital, not waiting to take up more of the doctor's time, she seemed busy with all the wounded, and I didn't know if we won or not. But it looked like the fight was ending.
I went back to the pack house, and had been standing in front of the mirror all that time when Carson ran through the door.
"Luna! Luna!"
"Carson? What are you doing here?" I asked in shock.
"Daryl!" He cried out as he fell to the ground dead. He had a knife in his back, and I knew that he had died trying to tell me something about Daryl.
I ran out of the pack house, almost forgetting to stop and grab a shirt since I hadn't been wearing one. They were holding Daryl up by his arms and hands. He was covered in blood and barely awake.
"Where are you taking him? What happened?" I cried over and over.
No one answered me as we talked around the pack, which was in ruins, people laid either dead or wounded. Or just knocked out, i couldn't see much of anything over the blood that spilled all over our pack grounds.
"He's alive." Someone spoke to me, but through my tears and worry I almost missed what was said.

I nodded, as we made our way back to the hospital I had just been at, the war wasn't over someone told me but it was over today. And if Daryl died today, we would lose our pack.
"No," I say looking up at the men that stood around Daryl's bed, a doctor came quickly once they saw through the blood that this was their Alpha. "I might be a girl, but I'll lead until Daryl is well enough to take back again."
The men cheered and slammed me on the back, and I smiled, I wouldn't let them fall into the hands of Darren.
"I want my brother found and caught. He betrayed me once I'm sure if I can get him in my hands he'll betray his mate's pack." I snapped.
"Yes Luna." They all said.
"Fred Dyer, is the name." I called out to them as they left "and get my brother Axel on the phone!"
*********
A couple of hours later, I was on the phone with Axel, the doctors had told me that Daryl slipped into a coma and didn't know when or if he'd every wake up.
"Yes I'm six months pregnant with Mason's baby, no Daryl doesn't know and yes Fred told me that he gave me up to please he's mate." I snapped at him for the third time.
"I still can't believe you got knocked up." Axel laughs.
"Ha ha, look Daryl doesn't know and if he doesn't know yet I could think of a way to tell him."
"Joyce, you have always been one for the truth. You just tell him everything."
"What about Fred?" I asked him.
Axel sighs. "I know you told me you had guys looking for him but I say give up, he'll come back when he thinks we've forgotten and try to make amends."
"I want him locked up."
"Joyce, look I'm sorry that's how you feel but family is family no matter how bad you hate them or want them to die for the bad choices. In the end they are still family."
"Axel, please stop trying to think of this as a teaching moment! As soon as I find Fred his going to be locked up, if I don't kill him on sight."
"Aren't you supposed to be out looking for Darren?"
I sighed heavily, of course I didn't tell Axel that Darren was dead. That's what caused Daryl to go into a coma and I was now just going after traitors. "I'm handling this."
"So what are you having?" Axel said, suddenly changing the subject.
"I don't know what I'm having." I say putting a hand on my stomach, it still looked flat, I couldn't be so pregnant and be so skinny.
"Don't you want to know?" Axel asked.
"NO I DON'T" I snapped at him.
"Are you going to tell Mason?"
"No, not even."
"Luna?" Someone called me.
"Look I got to go."
"Love you sis."
"Love you too Axel." I tell him before hanging up the phone.
"We're going to move Daryl." the doctor tells me, he raises a brow at my hand on my belly. But I didn't care if he judged.

Medieval Terror
[Trickle! Trickle!] Blood… Pure unfiltered blood. Thick wetness of inhumane variety was drowning the contours of my defiled countenance with crimson slick. My warrior’s mien was brutally decorated with the vile viscera and entrails of the dead. Scattered all around me was a large pile of corpses floating in the bloodthirsty puddle of the afterlife. Accompanying my rest within this detestable domain was a rapacious array of lord Beelzebub’s kin. A swarm of black motile embodiment capable of aerial drifts made my bloody appearance barely visible. [Buzz! Buzz!] I was dead yet living, I could travel between the broken realms of existence and meddle with the vengeful souls. Such was possible by virtue of my life that had succumbed to the Lure of Enigma. The bizarre events that unfolded which brought me to this destitute phase of utter dysphoria was a mixture of tales that will leave a distasteful flavour of doleful buds on your tongue. If you wish to know more about my apocalyptic journey then feel free to turn the pages of my undying path. However, I must warn you, inquisitive readers. My legendary tale might cause your weak constitution to become cripple, hence read at your own peril. Twisted Skies
After his master's death, Thurain leaves his rural home behind and travels to Heliana, the cramped city founded on the scientific progress of cultivation. Under a fake name, he aims to enter the Elemental Path Sect, the place of his master's death, to find both his killers, and closure. However, surrounded by the strange and horrible wonders of Heliana and its mixture of heroes and villains, his master's death is not the only murder he may have to solve. --- First attempt at a xianxia novel from me. To shake things up from the usual formula, the setting is more steam-punk than you might expect, and there are elements of murder mystery mixed in with the standard formula (though I'm not entirely sure yet how far to go with it.) I wrote this a while ago for NaNoWriMo, only posting it now for various reasons. Enjoy. Also, cover is highly temporary. I'll probably replace it with something nicer eventually.
