《Alpha Daryl Reeds》Chapter 24

"I met her the night they attacked Daryl, I didn't mean for it to happen." Carson cried.
"I know you didn't of course you wouldn't have." Rosemary said putting her hand on Carson's back. He after all was her brother-in-law to be.
"What do you plan to do?" I asked, I knew it must not be easy, this was after all the only mate he possibly got. He could accept her as his mate and get kicked out of the pack and become a traitor or he rejects her.
"I don't know, Luna you must understand I didn't know she was my mate until after she hurt Daryl! Please don't tell him before I figure out what to do."
"Carson, I know what you must do it'll be hard on you but I truly believe that it's the right then to do."
"No! Please Carson don't reject her! You may never find another mate." Rosemary cries.
"I wasn't going to tell him to reject his mate, Rosemary; he must be with her. It's only fair but as our rules state you will be a traitor to our pack."
"I understand." Carson says with pain in his eyes.
"Carson, you have been a great Beta and a great bodyguard but I must order you to your mate."
"What if she rejects me?" Carson asks.
"I will give you a month from now, if you come back within that time I know you have been rejected but if you don't show up before midnight of one month from now I will know you are happy wherever you should be then."
"Luna Joyce, thank you for understanding and letting me do this. I hope you become a great leader to my pack and if I don't return please explain to my parents I had become a traitor."

I felt tears in my eyes because it wasn't fair to him that he was a mate to a hunter, we knew that it was in hunters blood to kill us even mated to a werewolf. She or he who is mated to a werewolf is also a traitor to her people, but most times they run off and hide in the human world where they can live a life of some sort.
"You are very kind Luna, but what will you tell Daryl?"
"Oh Rosemary, if I know anything about Daryl I will tell him the truth."
******
"What?" Daryl growled out and slammed his fist on his desk.
"Oh Daryl please, he's got a mate who's human isn't it hard enough being a werewolf? Let Carson work on her, give him time to be around her and let her fall for him."
"He left you at the mall with Darren running around!" Daryl yelled. "I'll hunt him down and kill him for leaving you."
"I ordered him away." I said calmly sitting down behind his desk and putting my feet up on the desk as if I didn't give a care in the world.
"What?" Daryl asked looking at me, I was looking down at my nails that needed to be painted.
"Daryl honey, please leave the poor boy alone, he has a human mate. That's got to be rough."
I didn't tell Daryl the whole truth, that would be Rosemary and I's secret. Or at least I hoped. I didn't think she'd tell Daryl but I worried about her coming back and attacking us again.
"Very well, you should get ready baby." He says standing in front of me.
I smiled up at him, he grabbed my arm and pulled me up so I'm standing with my face in his chest, his arms around me and his face in my hair, breathing me in.

He pulls away a little and looks down at me. "You look very beautiful."
I blushed at his comment before he kissed me, and it wasn't like last night's kiss where it was hot and heavy with need, no this one was sweet and nice it had me asking for more when he pulled away.
"I know it's early but I think I love you." Daryl says to me, he's eyes burning into mine. And for a moment I think of saying the words back to him, but I've known him all of what for a few weeks?
"Oh," I say shocked, I didn't know what to say.
"No, don't say it back until you are ready Joyce but I want you to know." Daryl tells me.
I know I had ruined the moment with my 'oh' that's not what he wanted to hear, but for some reason I wasn't ready to say it back even though everything was wonderful.
I go up to the bedroom, I think it was finally time to take it up another step and actually start sharing a bed, if we were to do the mate cemetery. I wonder if Daryl's pack was like some of the others were after they meet the Luna they watch the Alpha and the Luna mate, my old pack was like that. I had to join the cemetery when I was 18, part of our law.
Hopefully that wasn't the case here, Daryl really didn't seem to be the type that would want others to see me naked but most Alpha's didn't but watching the Alpha's son have sex with his mate it was weird but he didn't stay Alpha long he then moved to his mates pack and the Alpha's daughter was supposed to take over.
I didn't know if she had or not, I haven't seen her since that one day. Either way she probably should change that law.
I got ready for the cemetery, I had gone with the white dress Rosemary liked, I loved the way it made my dark hair stand out, and I thought the silk white dress was perfect for this time.
I put on light makeup, I wasn't really into makeup but tonight seemed like a good night to wear some. Daryl came for me at 7 and I was suddenly nervous what would people think? Would Amy be there? Would she still hate me for taking Daryl when he had told her for so long she'd be his Luna?
I shook my head hoping to get rid of the thoughts before the cemetery. What I hadn't expected was the attack.

The first edition credited the work's protagonist Robinson Crusoe as its author, leading many readers to believe he was a real person and the book a travelogue of true incidents. Epistolary, confessional, and didactic in form, the book is presented as an autobiography of the title character (whose birth name is Robinson Kreutznaer)-a castaway who spends twenty-eight years on a remote tropical desert island near Trinidad, encountering cannibals, captives, and mutineers, before ultimately being rescued.
