《Alpha Daryl Reeds》Chapter 2

Doing my best to stay out of line of the men blow the tree, I didn't want to get caught I knew that Alpha Daryl was my mate.
I take all my will not to go to my mate, I refuse to be mated to someone who could kill a lot of people and not feel anything not care that these people might be someone's father, mother, brother, sister, wife or husband he didn't care all he cared was that he was the most powerful Alpha in this town and I did not accept that.
Alpha Daryl was the kind of man your brothers told you before you went to bed at night trying to scare you, to give you nightmares, to make sure you didn't go into the woods along, the type of man everyone knew by name but not by looks. He disgusts me, he was a murderer, a killing machine, and I would not allow myself to be seen by him, if he did, he'd take me to his pack and make me be his mate I wouldn't allow him to take me from my home.
I don't really have a choice though because as soon as I try to stay out of his line the branch that I was perched on snapped causing me to fall out of the tree I landed on my butt the wind once again had been knocked out of me. Both of them and looked at me like I was some crazy girl, I set up slowly keeping my eyes shut so I didn't have to look either one of them in my eyes.
"Look at us." A voice snapped at me. I continue to disobey until I felt a hand underneath my chin.
I snapped open so I could glared at the person who dared to put his hands on me. "Let go of me." I snap jerking my head out of the hand that held me still.
The guy who had his hands on me wasn't my mate but of course I already knew that because of my wolf she knew who her true mate was. Alpha Daryl you made eye contact with me I stared at him for a long second before getting up and taking off towards my house again this time I was destined to go hide in the cellars with my mother and sister.

I could hear Alpha Daryl behind me, I try to run faster trying to outrun him but of course I couldn't because he was an alpha male stronger than me and faster than me because of his rank and because he was male.
Before I could even touch the handle to my front door which has been open when I ran out of it earlier now was closed. Daryl grab me I screamed and thrust at him, trying to get out of his hold. Sparks shot up my skin wherever he touched me I could feel him through my heavy coat.
"Let go of me!" I screamed at him.
He just chuckled at me ignoring my request and started dragging me away from my house, I continue to fight him every time I'd close to getting free he'd tightened his grip on me.
"I, Joyce Evans reject Alpha Daryl Reedus as my mate!" I screamed at him.
That made Daryl stop in his tracks. He let go of me and made me look at him. Since he was so tall I had to look up to see his face his face was expressionless, but I could tell he was not happy that I have rejected him.
"Well then, Joyce Evans I deny your rejection."
"You can't-"
He cut me off. "I just did so now if you please, I would like to go home now."
"I will never accept you as my mate and I will hate you until the day I die."
He smirks at me. "If you hate something for long enough you learn to love it, soon enough Joyce you will accept me whether you like it or not until then . . . Well that's up to you."
He turns and continues walking, I don't bother following him I tried to walk but two men that I didn't know stood before me that I didn't even know it was there. They cross their arms over their chest trying to overpower me but I can tell this was Daryl's second and third command.
"Alright, alright I'm going." I tell them as they step closer to me.
'Axel?' I called through the mindlink
'Oh thank goodness you're okay where are you?'

I bit my lip hard almost afraid that I should tell him. 'I'm-- I'm going with uh Alpha Daryl.'
'WHAT?! WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU DO THAT?'
'Please, please understand . . . I don't have a choice.' I cry because I felt as if I was betrayed by the nature of earth.
'Why don't you have a choice?' Axel says me softer, he's trying to figure this out with me trying not to upset me he thinks I'm being taken as a prisoner
And this is why I choose to tell Axel first. 'Because he's . . . He's my mate."
'Oh Joyce,'
'I . . . .I tried to reject him but he refuses to accept it.'
Axel goes to reply when Daryl's voice breaks me out of my thoughts. "Mind-linking someone?"
I don't answer just walk in silence, I wasn't sure how he got here. Did he walk like his pack or in a car like some Alphas do? The question was answered from you when Daryl started walking up to a black truck.
"Thought you might like it better then having to run in your wolf form." He says
I look back at my burning home, the only place I've lived for seventeen years. "Call off the attack." I find myself saying.
"No,"
"No?" I said in surprised I thought if I asked he'd say okay seeing as I'm his mate and these were my people.
"No," he says calmly
"Really?"
"Yes,"
I stopped walking towards the truck. "Well then I'm not going."
"Darling -"
"Do not call me that." I said
"Get in the truck."
"No." I say stubbornly.
"No?" He asks me like it's actually a question which I knew he'd forced me into the truck himself
"Not this again." I say crossing my arms.
"Why are you making this so difficult?"
"Call of the attack and I won't make it difficult." I tell him glaring up at him. Why the hell is he so tall??? I think to myself
He sighs and shakes his head. "Fine! But one wrong move and you're not going to like what happens next."
I roll my eyes at his threat, did he really think he could scare me? But of course it does but I don't let him know that and get into the fucking truck.
I didn't talk the whole way to Daryl's packs land, he tried to talk to me a few times but all I did was reach over and turn the radio on.
'Joyce?' Jake mindlinks me
'Hi' I whisper it knowing Axel must have told everyone and he's probably coming to yell at me for not
'Uh Axel told us about you finding your mate. Mom and Dad aren't super happy about the fact that it's Alpha Daryl but they just want you to be happy.'
Tears form in my eyes this isn't how I wanted it to be, I always thought I'd find a nice boy in my pack as my mate, I'd have him over for dinner the day I found him, my parents would ask him a million questions we'd all laugh. Dad would talk about my embarrassing childhood, mom would tell him to stop. Then we'd realize it was so late, I walked you to the door with the whole family watching us, I thought it'd be a fairytale. I didn't think I'd be mated to an Alpha, I didn't think it'd be a monster.
'How is everyone?' I dared to ask
'Ashley's sad that she didn't get to say goodbye, Jake and Axel are already uh Fred got hurt pretty bad he hasn't woken up yet.'
"Are you mind-linking someone?" Daryl asked once again.
"So what if I am?" I snapped at him.
"Why are you making a big deal out of a question?"
I smirk at him, before going to look out the window again. "You know, it's really annoying when you don't answer me."
"And it's really annoying when you talk to me." I say as I open the car door.

Beast
A threat to the galaxy has come from another, and the Union of intelligent life will go to any length to stop it. Military Quarantine has held for hundreds of thousands of cycles. Traders, merchants, colonists, and Pirates live risky lives along the fringes as the politics from the inner systems fail to see the larger threats beyond their borders. A lone human finds himself far from home with no memories to how he arrived. A failing Trade vessel plays on a desperate gamble, while a malicious parasite searches for a suitable host. ............................................. Author's note: Beast is a story that I wrote a long, long time ago. Some of you might have read it then, back when it was posted on reddit over at r/HFY. It was my first webfiction and made in the spirit of that subreddit's "genre" of humanity being awesome. But, it is also a story that has bothered me a little bit. Just like most new writers tend to do, I made mistakes and errors that feel painful to reread. A Space Opera will be a Space Opera, but I had prose that makes present-me cringe. Still, at the same time, the story is still very much a tale I've never given up on. It was my first adventure into fiction: Beast was a crazy adventure with bodysnatching aliens, galactic war, threats from across the universe... Posting this story here is a way to try and redeem myself a bit. I won't call it a complete rewrite, because it's not, but I have wanted to go through and correct some of the major issues Beast has for a long time and put it somewhere more accessible to read (instead of as posts/comments on reddit) and I figure that now is as good a time as any. Additional corrections you might notice are welcome.

Leave Bad Enough Alone
Something has been amiss in the city’s theaters as of late. The local bards have long done a respectable job of keeping the audiences entertained, weaving high concepts with skillful performances. But lately, a new set of bards, and their illusionist cohorts, have captured the crowd’s attention. Compared to the theater’s usual fare, their work is hackneyed and poorly plotted, with unskilled acting, bad special effects, and unsatisfying resolutions. Worst of all, the audiences like their work more, and these upstarts are far more profitable than the city’s decent bards! Clearly, there must be some dark secret behind the success of these newcomers, and it’s up to the city’s true artists to find out what it is and expose the conspiracy! Or maybe the city’s bards have just become too hopelessly pretentious and derivative. It’s hard to tell. But investigate it they must! Failure is not an option! Victory, or...well, they’ll have to get day jobs or something. Original cover image generated by NightCafé.Master story list here.

An Average American in A High-school Academy Anime
An American versed in narrative tropes and more than mildly acquainted with anime wakes up in a completely different bed than the one he went to bed in. Now he has to scramble to understand where he is, what's going on, and hope to God he isn't in a relationship drama. I don't expect this to be good or well-received, but I have plenty of time this quarantine, so I'll try to get a chapter of 4000-10000 words out every one or two weeks. (haha) Please let me know how it can be improved. I'm an avid reader of fiction, but I've never really fallen down a rabbit hole so hard that I can name all tropes and settings and such by heart. I'm not sure if this will be effective satire, so I preemptively apologize. Inspired by: "My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe..." by EO Tenkey and "The Simulacrum" by Eganthale. Check them out if you want probably better stories than this one.
