Nyx's pov.

Andros wasn't particularly pleased with my decision of trying things out with Lycus. He had on a permanent scowl on his face ever since he came to know of it.

"Are you serious Nyx?" He scoffed running his hand through his golden locs, "And what if he hurts you again?"

"He won't." I sighed, secretly crossing my heart that he wouldn't hurt me again.

He heaved a sigh of frustration and sat down on the chair. His head was hung low and it was clear that he was in pain.

"I am sorry." I said walking over to him. I didn't exactly know what I was apologising for, maybe it was the fact that I didn't reciprocate his romantic feelings towards me.

"There is no need to be sorry." He looked up at me, "It's not your fault Nyx."

I nodded not knowing what to tell him.

"It's the mate bond, yes? How stupid of me to think that you would chose me over him, I mean he is your mate." He let out a dry laughter that somewhat made me feel discomfort, "You know when you have something special, you do not know the value till you lose it." He stood up and walked towards me holding my face in his palms, I didn't resist his touch.

"What do you mean?" I asked as I couldn't quite read words.

"Let me rephrase that." He gave me tight smile, "When you have someone special, you wouldn't really know their value till you lose them."

"Maybe Lycus is being sincere now." He said with a frown, "Maybe he is ready to treat you like he should cause he once was on the verge of losing you and I do hope that is the case cause i cannot bear to see you hurt again."

"I won't get hurt." I managed to say smiling at him, "Why are you saying all these?" I asked amused as he wasn't a Lycus fan, he hated him.

"What did you expect?" He laughed, "For me to say cruel things about him to get you on my side?"

"Yea…" I trailed off. My cheeks tinted red in embarrassment as those were my exact thoughts.

"No…" He moved away from me dropping his arms, "I saw the way he was when you were unconscious, he looked broken like he had lost something he held most precious. That made me have a feeling that he actually did want to make things work and you could give him a second chance even though he doesn't deserve it."

"Yea right…."

"Don't just get hurt again." He sighed, "I care for you as a friend despite the romantic feelings and I do not want to see you sad. You will make a great luna too."

My eyes lit up at his last statement, "You think so?" I asked with a smile at the prospects of me leading the pack side by side with Lycus.

"I know so Nyx." He returned my smile.

"They do not want me." I told him referring to the pack members. Despite Lycus wholly accepting me, I could still hear the whispers and feel the heated gazes of hatred from them.

"That shouldn't bother you." He reassured me, "What matters is that you are an amazing person and You have people that care about you."

A genuine smile adorned my lips as my insides felt calm at his words, I really needed to hear those.

"What do you want?" I seethed at the Beta's mother who was standing in front of me with a malicious grin on her face.

"Isn't it obvious?" She asked, "I want you gone!"

I rolled my eyes. I couldn't just get my lunch without this bitch in my way. She always found a way of tracing me and making me feel worthless.

"Back down!" Willow growled at her standing in front of me, "You shall not disrespect my luna!"

"Luna?" She snorted at her, "You must be mistaken, my daughter will be luna and not her!"

Let me at her! Hera growled in my head as her anger heightened, I will show that bitch what I am made of!

Be calm Hera, I tried pacifying her while battling to contain my anger myself, I so wanted to slap that smirk off her face.

Willow growled and advanced towards her but I held her back and signalled for her to leave us which she reluctantly did.

"You are just a rotten weakling for the Alpha to pass time, you should leave and let my daughter take her rightful place!"

Fuck Nyx! Let me at her! Hera growled louder threatening to take over by force. I was having trouble keeping calm now.

"Repeat that I dare you!" I growled at her. She gave me a look of disgust.

"You think you can attack me?" Her laugh was full of sarcasm this time, "You wretched omega thinking you can best a high ranker."

I glared at her taking in her insulting words. I was tired of being the weakling everyone thinks they can walk over and push around. That everyone can taunt and walk away with it.

"You are here acting all mighty while the Alpha is fucking my daughter's brains out." She smiled, I was hurt, "You and that damn daughter of yours deserve to d…"

I didn't let her finish her words. I pounced on her bringing her to the ground with strength and agility I had never felt before. I didn't even need Hera's help this time.

"You whore!" She screeched trying to pull at my hair but I smacked her face to the side which resulted in a piercing scream coming from her. I gave her some couple of more blows before getting off her.

I stood looking down at her as she writhed in pain, "I will let the Alpha take it from here." I smirked at her before turning away and making my way to Lycus's room. I wasn't going to deal with shit anymore, I would tell him about the incident and let him give her the punishment she deserves.

I literally flew up the stairs as I walked to his room. I got there immediately and knocked on the door.

The door opened by someone whom I never expected. The Beta was staring at me with a smirk on her face as Lycus walked to the door. His face paled seeing me and he quickly rushed pushing her aside.

"It isn't what you think Nyx." He said and I shook my head trying to keep back the tears, my heart was aching.

"Nyx I…" My itchy palm was raised and I slapped him hard across the face, how dare he hurt me again!

Nyx! You are jumping in to conclusions too early! Hera screeched and I blocked her out.

"Fucking her brains out I see." I tried composing myself so I wouldn't cry in front of him.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" He asked.

"I think I better leave." I heard the Beta say and she slid past us hurrying away.

"If you would let me explain." He tried reaching out to touch me.

"Don't touch me!" I barked, "I think it's time you get a taste of your own medicine." And with that I ran away from him paying deaf ears to the fact that he was chasing me and screaming for me to stop.

I ran exactly to where I knew I will find Andros. He was in the kitchen and I ran right there to the kitchen counter crossing over it, I pulled a startled Andros into my arms connecting my lips with his.

A loud growl emanated from who I knew was Lycus, people scampered from the kitchen and a cold chill ran down my spine.

What in the moon have I just done?
