《The Alpha King's Rejected Mate ✅》21

Nyx's Pov.
She descended to the ground with the wind lessening and the light around her disappearing just like the last time. She wore a black gown which flared from the waist with a very large slit and her long hair was braided this time.
She landed on the floor with a thump, the light and wind completely dispersing apart from the one with kept her dress gliding. She faced me glaring at me with her red flaming eyes and fear coursed through me as her gaze burned me.
"Well, well, well..." She smirked, "If it isn't the Alpha King's rejected mate!" She snarled at me, "The weak, ugly and unwanted luna."
"What do you want from me?" I asked quivering as the power coming from her doubled my fear, "I haven't done anything."
"You do not have to." She smiled. An evil smile, "You being weak, pathetic, ugly and a wimp is enough for you to be hated." She spat, "And you being in my way is enough for me to kill you!" She growled and I jerked in pure panic.
"I am going to kill you bitch!" She said and that pushed me as adrenaline rushed in me. I scampered to my feet and began to run which was a very bad choice as I only limped few paces from her, I couldn't run due to the wounds.
She laughed heartily at my poor excuse of an escape, "You should see yourself right now, so fucking pathetic." I felt a force pull me back and turn me towards her only for me to see that she had begun to influence my movements with her hands, "You should have left a long time ago."
I whimpered as she raised me up in the air with that same force and a felt an invisible hold on my neck which began to tighten. I gasped for air as I clawed at my neck trying to relieve myself but it only worsened.
"I told you I was going to get Lycus for myself either by witchery or any means possible." She said.
And one of the means is killing me right? I choked fighting for a breath, tears began to well in my eyes, "Please let me go..."
"Oh, should I now?" She cocked her head, "I should let you go? Are you sure?"

"Yes." I said without thinking and it was a big mistake. Her hands fell to her side and instantly the hold she had on me was gone causing me to fall from the high point in the air and back to the ground.
I landed with a thud on my back and I groaned out in pain as I heard a crack. Hera howled in pain causing my ears to ring.
Are you okay Nyx? She asked me, I am sorry I can't help you fight back, she is too strong.
I wasn't given a chance to reply as I was lifted off the floor again and hit on the ground. This time I landed on a rock, the pain seared through me and I yelled out.
"You can't even fight back!" She kicked me in my side, "To think you are to be a luna."
"Please leave me alone." I cried, "I did nothing to you." I was tired from the pain she was causing me.
"You can never have Lycus." She growled, "I wouldn't let you! Over my dead body!"
He doesn't even want me! I wanted to yell out but I couldn't. She made a motion with her hands and I felt claw like feels digging in my back causing me to howl out in pain.
"Listen here bitch!" She bent to my level grabbing my hair in her hands and turning my face to hers. Her eyes still glowered in anger as she stared down at me, "You are nothing, nothing to anyone, nothing to him now and you will forever be nothing! Forget about him mating with you cause that will never happen like I said I would do everything in my power to halt you both having a thing."
My heart broke at her words knowing they were true, knowing that I was nothing to Lycus or anyone.
"He is never going to want you, never going to look at you with desire and if you know what is good for you, you'd be best on your feet running away from here cause when I come back for you I wouldn't take it easy!"
She stood up, gave me one last kick before snickering at me and vanishing into thin air leaving me in my state with terrible wounds and thoughts of me being better off if she had killed me.

I stayed there on the ground in the dirt for a while before feeling familiar hands getting wrapped around me. I closed my eyes as I was lifted off the ground and a kiss was placed on my forehead.
Lycus? My heart leapt in Joy.
"Who did this to you Nyx?" It was Andros, my bleeding heart lurched in pain. How stupid of me to think that Lycus would ever come for me but I was glad that someone still somewhat cared, Andros cared.
He took me back to the castle grounds, right where we had been earlier that morning and he placed me under the same tree.
"Who did this to you?" He raised my bruised face up to look at him and I looked away knowing I looked uglier than ever. I know fresh wounds being added to the permanent scars on my face would only result in a repulsive facial look.
"Don't look away please." He held my face again turning it to his and he stared at me, his eyes looking deep into my soul as if searching for answers, "You know I do care about you Nyx, who did this?"
"How did you find me?" I croaked.
"That doesn't matter." He said, "Who did this to you?"
I broke down into tears wrapping my arms around him and bringing him closer into a hug. He was shocked at first but then he accepted my hug drawing me closer and cradling me in his arms as I cried my heart out.
"It's okay love." He patted my back trying to soothe me, "You can let it all out." He words drove me to cry harder and harder.
After a while, I was done. I withdrew from him laying my back against the tree and he took my hands in his.
"Do your wounds still hurt?" He asked and I nodded in affirmative, "Do you trust me?"
I looked at him with uncertainty, Did I trust him? I didn't know that, I didn't know if I did. He was the first person I had ever known to care about me but I didn't know if I trusted him.
"Do you trust me Nyx?" He asked again and I nodded saying yes. A part of me was curious as to why he asked.
He smiled at me before entangling his hands in mine and I felt a calming sensation pass through me. My wounds began to not ache as they did and I wasn't as weak as before.
"You are a healer too?" I asked as he opened his eyes withdrawing his hands.
"Yes." He smiled, "Not really a healer, I just have mild healing abilities which can't completely heal everything but it lessens pain at least."
"Thank you." I smiled.
"So, tell me what happened..." He asked again and I sighed before letting everything out. I told him everything I had been going through excluding my past life, I didn't want him to know about that.
"You don't deserve that Nyx." He said after listening intently to my ramblings, "You deserve better."
"I don't..."
"Shh!" He cut me short placing a finger on my lips stopping my words, "Don't you dare put yourself down." He said, "The King is an idiot to let you go and treat you like this, if you were mine, I would treat you right."
I smiled highly flattered at his words although they were hard to believe.
"You deserve to be loved and respected." He said bringing a hand up to caress my scarred cheek, I didn't flinch nor did I push his hand away.
"Nyx." He murmured lifting my face up to meet his, our gazes met and not a word was shared. His face inched slowly towards mine and I closed my eyes as I felt his lips on mine. I didn't push him away like I was suppose to, instead I relaxed into the kiss enjoying the feeling of his lips on mine as he deepened the kiss.
His other hand went to my back running his hand along it and that made me pull away from him.
"I am sorry." He said trying to catch his breath, "I had always wanted to do that."
His words were just empty whispers in my ears as my eyes caught sight of a figure leaning against the wall, his dark eyes met mine and my heart jumped in fear.
His face hardened in anger, his jaw was clenched and I could see his fists balled by his side.
It was Lycus.
His facial expression only confirmed one thing.
He saw everything that had happened.
He saw me kiss Andros.
