Nyx's pov
Fear!
That was what flowed through me as I stood rooted to my spot. The power radiating from him as he grew angrier by the moment forced me into submission. I stood with Amara still clutched to me and my neck was bowed.
"Come here!" He said calmly and it only heightened my fear. Any time Alpha Titan had beckoned on me calmly the punishment was always worse. I shook my head in defiance and stepped back from him, he frowned.
"I said come here." He growled at me with his hands fisted by his sides and I could see his eyes glaring at me with anger, "Do not disobey me Nyx!"
Hera, please talk to me, I need you, I tried summoning Hera trying to get her. I really needed her help, I needed to run. I knew that if I got him angrier he would hit me just like Alpha Titan had, he would punish me.
Hera please! I tried again.
Nyx, can you hear me? I wanted to leap for Joy, finally she was back, What is going on?
We need to run away from him, Lycus.
Why?
He's going to hurt us Hera.
I don't think he is, trust him a bit Nyx, he said he won't hurt us.
I don't care! He's just like Titan! Look how angry he is, he's going to hurt Amara and I. We need to run.
As you say Nyx, She said accepting defeat.
"Don't make me repeat myself." He started to move towards me, "I am pissed, don't make me do what I wouldn't want to!"
I shook my head and stepped back trying to move away from him by breaking into a mini run
"You caused this!" He roared, his was catching up with me and with that I snapped
Hera, Now! I said to her and she took over heightening my speed. I ran navigating my way through the hallways and trying to get towards the stairs. Amara clutched tightly to me as we kept running.
I got to the stairs to meet what shocked me.
Lycus was already there standing with a devilish smirk on his face.
How did he do that? I paled as I stepped back from thinking of running in the opposite direction.
"Don't you even dare!" He growled at me halting me in my tracks and I shivered in fright.
Amara was snatched out of my arms by the woman that I guessed had brought her to my room earlier whom I didn't even know was right there.

"Put the child to bed." He said to the woman and she nodded and walked away with Amara who looked really frightened for me.
"You are coming with me." He picked me up, threw me over his shoulder and reached my room in a flash.
"How did you do that?" I couldn't help but ask out of curiosity.
"I have powers." He answered and dropped me on the bed.
He went to lock the door.
"Please don't hurt me." I fell to my knees begging as he walked back to the bed, "I am sorry."
"Get up!" He ordered and I did wondering when he was going to give me a blow that will send me back to the ground.
"Why do you want Andros to be released? He is a criminal." He said to me pacing up and down the room with his hands folded behind him, "Why Nyx?"
"Cause I want him…"
He turned to me with a glare and I could have sworn that I saw jealousy in his eyes as he marched up to me and yanked me closer to him. I winced as the grip hold in had on me tightened.
"What do you mean you want him?" He growled as his eyes darkened, "Is he your lover?"
"No…i"
"Are you his whore? So he is the father of your daughter? Were you spreading your legs for him in the cells?"
"That's not what I meant."
"You know what?!" He pushed me away, "You can have him!" He growled glaring at me one more time before storming out of the room and banging the door behind him.
what in the moon just happened? I was still stunned as I sat on the bed. How could he ever think that Andros was my lover in the cells? How is that even possible? He's the one flirting with that witch and he had the mind to accuse me of being a whore for Andros.
Angry bitter tears stung my eyes as I tried hard not to cry at his accusations. Getting a second chance mate, I thought that I would finally be happy and have a chance to know what love feels like bit it only turned out that I was in a worse situation.
He was keeping me but not because he wanted anything to do with me, he was keeping me because he didn't want to be weak. He was keeping me cause of his powers.
I was being used.

I couldn't keep the tears in for long. They started flowing down my face and landing on my dress. I would have preferred being rejected instead of being caged here so some Alpha wouldn't be a weakling if he rejected me.
My thoughts were interrupted when there was a knock at the door. I went to answer it and there was a lady there standing with a tray of food, the same lady that had come to give me food back when I was still in the cells and then I noticed something. She bore resemblance with someone I knew.
I looked at her more intently and noticed that she looked much like the Beta.
She must be her mother or sister, I couldn't quite place it.
"Well, are you just gonna stare at me or you are going to take this tray from my hands?" She barked startling me, "I have other important things to do you idiot!"
"Sorry." I mumbled moving to collect the tray from her. She thrust it into my hands harshly before stomping away while spewing profanities as usual.
I think she even called me hideous.
I closed the door and went back to the bed. I place the tray on the bed and opened the plate on it which was covered.
It contained soup. Pure plain soup but it was hot. My stomach grumbled at the sight even though it wasn't palatable. I shrugged and dug in without out thinking twice and I immediately spat the contents out.
It was sour.
Really sour.
My guess was that it was the left over and it wasn't properly kept. I couldn't eat it. It wasn't manageable and it tasted really bad.
And I knew I couldn't go out of the room and to the kitchen to complain. Lycus had forbade me coming out.
I was still thinking of what to do when I heard another knock. I went to answer it. It was the cook. She was holding a can of water.
"I forgot to give you this, not like you need it!" She spat before flinging it at me and turned to go.
"Wait." I stopped her.
"What?!" She growled at me.
"The soup, it tastes really sour I can't eat it." I mumbled without stuttering hoping that she would be rational in her response.
"The soup, it tastes really sour I can't eat it." She mimicked me with a dark chuckle and I frowned.
"Let me see." She said pushing past me and going into the room.
I followed her and lifted the bowl handing it to her. She took it from me and smashed the bowl in my face.
I howled in pain as the broken pieces cut me and hot liquid burnt my skin.
"Who do you think you are?!" She growled, "The fucking luna Queen?!"
I winced as most of the minute pieces at gotten into my eyes. She grabbed me, wrapped her hand around my throat and slammed me to the wall.
"Know your place mutt!" She growled and from the way she held me I could know that she was of high ranking. Her strength was unusual, "You aren't the fucking luna Queen, you eat what I give you be it sour soup or dead mice."
She squeezed and I choked, "One word about this to the Alpha, trust me you are dead." She released her hold and I slid down the wall to the ground still trying to get a hold of my breathing and seeing clearly.
"Clean this stuff up, I don't know how but do it cause I ain't sending no one up here to do it for you." She said to me, "And make sure the Alpha knows nothing of it!"
She kicked me, gave me a last warning look before leaving the room.
yeap! Definitely related to her.
I regained my composure and went to the bathroom to wash my face. It was the first time I had entered it and it was beautiful but I had not time to admire it as I was in pain and my face was still burning.
I washed it and I didn't have to bother about hiding the fresh wounds as I knew my mate wasn't going to notice anything.
When I was done with the bathroom, I got back into the room and worked fast on cleaning the mess.
I picked up every broken piece and threw them out the window and also I used a small face towel I had found in the bathroom to clean up the sour liquid.
I was done in no time and had destroyed all evidence of anything ever happening.
Amara was brought soon and she was fast asleep. I had to join her as it was already late and I had nothing to do and so I laid on the bed next to my daughter falling asleep with and empty growling stomach and wondering what terrible thing lay in store for me by tomorrow.

The Kiss of Two Moons
The last year is upon us. The world is ending, but you already knew that; everyone does. Spring has come, and the flowers have bloomed here in this small town with no name. Thousands of different colours now paint the field that had been coloured by frost alone just yesterday. The townsfolk have gathered by the field to celebrate the beginning of the last spring with so many smiling faces. Tears too. I can’t help but wonder whether the flowers will bloom again before the sky falls upon us. Others must be thinking the same. There are moments when the smiles fade and their eyes glaze over as they realize just how near to the end we are. They forget it again in moments. They make themselves forget. The children aren’t like that, though. They don’t seem to understand, or they’ve come to accept it in a way that their parents just can’t manage to. This one boy actually asked me why I was sad. I had to wonder whether he was actually aware that the world is ending, but it seemed wrong to mention it. I ended up just telling him that I was waiting for someone, and he scampered off, wearing a silly smile. I can’t help but feel jealous of him. The beginning of next spring; the day that the world ends. It seems so far away, yet so close. Wherever you are now, I have to ask, how are you spending your last spring? Did you get to see the flowers bloom? Did you smile? Did you cry?

Shadow in the North
What if a work of fiction wasn't fiction at all? What if we only thought it was fiction because it was written down, and we were separated from it by the page? Isabel Darrow, troubled by her past and feeling disconnected from the world, likes her doctor's suggestion that the world of fiction might become reality. She likes the idea of waking up in the middle of her favourite book with the handsome, brooding Mr Thornton glaring at people in his mill yard, but she doesn't worry about the foul air of dirty, smoky Milton, because it's not real, and it was written over 160 years ago.But then she takes a trip to Oxford, and gets waylaid along the way, finding herself greeted at a smoky train station, by a man called Mr Hale, who claims to be her godfather. When Isabel meets Margaret and first sees Mr Thornton, she's determined to help the course of love run a little more smoothly for the two stubborn lovers. But Gaskell hadn't accounted for a second young lady in the Crampton house, and whilst Isabel tries to adapt to a life where women have no independence or equality, Milton must adapt to her. The question is, will Mr Thornton adapt to her, or Margaret, first?
