《Mated to Morpheus》MTM.11

"You're going to kill him?" I screeched and doing the weakest amount of work, stepped back from Max with disgust clearly evident on my tear stained face. The bitter taste on my tongue worsened, and I showed my distaste for this moment in the form of a twitching red nose, and curled up lips, a crazy eye began to twitch as unwanted images of 'putting him down' popped into my head.
Just like I was watching a silent movie, the show went on in my mind and the only thing I could actually make out was his slow, saddening, movements. His lips moulding into a string of distressed, familiar yet new, words, 'mate, mate, mate' as I watched his body fall to the ground and his mouth spewing out my name even with the poisoned spit, foam coming out with it.
I wondered, when did I get so dramatic?
"No," Max said right away, quickly as he started shaking his head at me, "definitely not, nope, uh-uh. We can't do that, not with him, and especially not with that little bit of wolfsbane."
I tilted my head to the side, lost in thought for a second, sometimes he reminds me of Viviana. Calming down, the threat was gone, I could relax.
"So, you're just putting him to sleep?" I finally asked, and as my eyes squinted, my lips also slowly began to close shut again. It seemed like a whole lot of wolfsbane to me, although do I even know a good amount of wolfsbane? I'm not an expert or anything, Viviana is the one who dabbles in werewolf lore while I dabble in a bag of chocolate covered pretzels.
Max nodded and looked up from me, watching whatever was happening behind my back. Instinctively, I turned my head to look over my shoulder, but upon seeing the unconscious, hulking, body of Morpheus slowly transform completely back into his human form, guilt filled me. However, seeing the oh so mighty warriors trying to heave his much larger body up, gave me a little satisfaction, so I moved to be facing the scene front on. At first, they struggled against his dead body weight, but soon they succeeded in lifting him up, nonetheless.
Funny, I snickered, warriors are supposed to be the second strongest members of the pack, but looking at them trying to lift up Morpheus, well, it's like ants trying to get a full sized cookie.

Is Morpheus oversized or something? Snapping me out of my thoughts, Max interrupted.
"We can't kill him, not us anyway," Max assured me as he placed his hand on my shoulder before turning me 180° style. He smiled down at me, "Don't worry, everything is alright now."
Johnny had snuck his way behind us, but as soon as his voice hit my ears with a simple 'well, then', I was jumping up and wrapping my arms around him. "Johnny," I sighed, relaxing in his arms, "I'm so sorry for that, I don't understand or even know what just happened, I'm so sor-"
"I should have known," Johnny spoke, interrupting my apologies before sighing, "I mean, really, you are technically a mated female now and even gay guys can't test that in the mating world."
"Wait, what?" I pulled back, and my eyes instantly locked on and searched his neck. A bit red, but okay.
Johnny tried to fix his messed up locks, running a hand through his blond hair as he smirked, winking at Max, "This sure does bump up my ego though."
"I'm confused?" I thought aloud, stretching my words out. Neither of them bothered to even look down, it was like standing between two giants. How are they not scared? In shock?
"Oh yes, because being number one on the Alpha King's hit list is definitely a major ego boost-" Max rolled his eyes, "-it's not like he wants to kill you or anything."
"I'm confused," I stated once again, "completely and utterly confused, but just a tad bit more now."
"Right," Johnny agreed and then emphasized his next word, "but, he only wants to kill me because he thinks that I can take his mate from him, so when you think about it, I'm seen as Alpha material in the Alpha King's eyes which is a pretty big compliment," he finished and crossed his arms in confidence.
Jumping to conclusions much.
"Or, he sees you as something annoying that he can easily kill," Max put in his two cents with a smile on his face, looking at Johnny and waiting for a reaction.
Johnny moved around his arms, signalling between him and Max as he said, "I'm not really liking this vibe, I'm feeling some hate that's coming from this area and I'm just not into it."

I raised my hand slowly, hoping to catch their attention by at least a glance. "Hello, explanation needed. You know, I'm freaking out a little down here," finishing off with a nervous giggle to end my sentence, maybe they'll pay attention if I-
Johnny's hand slithered its way around my shoulders and pulled my back against his chest as he patted at the top of my head, "To be able to be heard-" he hovered his hand just above my head, "-you must be this tall."
"I'm five-one-!" my back hit against Johnny's warm chest just as they took Morpheus body out of the room, and out of my sight, but as I felt the heat radiate off of Johnny's body, a pain shot through me. The uncovered skin of my arms slightly touched his bare chest, and his hands slid down to grab them in surprise. I let out a surprised gurgle as I choked on my own spit.
Johnny immediately let go, and Max was quick to grab a hold of my arms. "Emery," Max had turned serious, his voice low as he looked me up and down, frowning as he saw me wincing at his touch, "what's wrong?"
His hands tightened against my arms, digging into my skin, squeezing them until the spots had turned numb and it felt as though they were being burned by ice, a searing pain of heat. Chomping my teeth together, I took in a cold breath.
I bit down on my lip and shook my head, quivering as I tried to answer, but all I could do was silently open my mouth. Seconds passed, but it went slowly and felt like hours, as the horrific pain only got worse. "L-Let go-go-go," a whimper was all you could hear, a breath of air, my voice barely recognizable to myself.
Max tore his arms off of me, staring at his palms before looking up at my face, and all I could make out was the look of confusion as his eyebrows came together. I moved my eyes back to see him share a look with Johnny, but all he got in response was a shake of the head.
I grabbed at the fabric of my shirt, gripping the area covering my chest as I felt another sharp pain go through the middle of it, searing. Johnny's voice sounded eons away as he seemingly whispered above me, "How hard did you grab her?"
"I barely grabbed her," Max responded.
Closing my eyes, a blockage of tears came rolling down my cheeks. A scalding feeling itched at my skin, ripping apart my arms as I scratched violently. A flash of green.
Something took over as my mind turned dizzy, feeling weightless as I slapped a hand against my head. The hit from myself was knowingly gentle, but it physically pushed me, my body started falling over and I landed hard on my backside. Johnny's burning hands slid off me as he attempted to catch me. That hadn't distracted me at all as another whiplash of boiling water was poured over me.
My eyes rolled back into my head.
Hot, searing, liquid filled my veins as a familiar door appeared in front of my eyes and a tall leg that wasn't my own lifted up to kick it down. A burning sensation gnawed at my chest as I saw red, dark red. My sight went straight towards the body struggling against the covers, kicking the blanket off as the woman whimpered, and the hand reached out towards her before she sprang up, sooner than expected, from her half-awake troubled sleep.
Sudden realization struck, it was me.
Then it all changed, a new vision, a new memory. The scene in front of me flicked down to a pair of large, calloused, hands, thick lines of crimson dripped down the obvious man hands, a thought took over as a smile tugged at the curve of my lips, 'oh, there'll be blood spilled tonight'.
My eyes shot open and I grabbed onto the first thing that I could reach, Johnny's hand flinched underneath my nails as they stabbed into him, "Hel-Help."
My mind turned off, eyes turned back into my head as everything around me darkened to a pitch black. The next words slipped past my lips, quietly.
"He's doing it again."
