April's POV

I was frozen to the spot whilst Aiden stood in front of me grinning triumphantly at the fact that he'd nearly beaten a man to death. I felt my mouth drop open when I stared down at the limp man at my feet. I dropped to my knees besides his head and checked his pulse. He was still breathing. Truth was, I was glad that Aiden had come, but also terrified when he didn't stop beating him up.

I heard a huff above me and looked up. Aiden had a look of complete disbelief on his face and he shook his head at me with incredulity.

"That guy just tried God knows what with you and you're actually looking over him?"

"I know that but I thought you killed this guy. You can't even see his face anymore." I retorted quickly, scrambling to my feet. "Trust me, I'm glad he's... well, like this now." Then I paused, suddenly aware of what Aiden had done for me. "Thank you."

He pinched his nose, turning around. "Look, are you okay?" I looked down, nodding, surprised at his tone. "Just... just come with me." I didn't move. He seemed angry and I wasn't sure if he'd be even angrier if I left. Anything I did seemed to anger the guy.

He opened his eyes and groaned when he saw me in the same position. "Come on, April. My friends were asking about you so I came after you to bring you back and saw this dick trying it on. What were you thinking, god damn it." He sounded so distressed, that I frowned.

My throat felt heavy and I tried to say thank you but it came out as a hoarse whisper. He must have heard because he looked at me, obviously annoyed. I began walking away from the drunken pervert but Aiden overtook me, latching on comfortably to my wrist so I was close behind him. His grip was soft. Sensing my discomfort, he let go and let out a little noise of realization, his eyes apologetic. I didn't want anyone touching me after that. I looked back at the man, my eyes stinging at the feeling of his nails on my arms, his breath fanning the nape of my neck.

We reached the patio door and stepped outside. I instantly felt Aiden tense and I could see the muscles in his back flexing. What's wrong with him? Is there more trouble?

"Go to Emma and Diego. Don't stray from here, don't go back inside and don't wander off on your own. Understand?"

But dude, I need the bathroom.

His eyes burnt into me and I nodded quickly, fighting back the urge to pee. His eyes brushed over me once more and walked away quickly - I thought I saw concern there, but I doubted it. Before I could find Emma and Diego again, I spotted Nina and Kayla and sped walked to them. Kayla was drunk and Nina was sagging under her weight. I quickly helped her and together we dragged Kayla over to a sofa. She was drooling majorly on my shoes.

Once Kayla was comfortable, me and Nina sat side by side on the couch whilst she informed me about a couple of friends she made she at the bar. We're not even at the legal age to drink. I nodded and hummed in all the right places as she talked but my mind wondered elsewhere. I didn't want to tell Nina about the pervert incident – it was over now. And I was angry that I couldn't defend myself as well as I thought I could have.

She was now humming the lyrics to some unknown song and I think that secretly, she was also slightly tipsy. I stood up to get her some water and maybe some food to sober her up, weaving my way through the packed crowd. I finally reached the drinks table and searched for a bottle of water. It took a while. The entire table was littered with red cups and Smirnoff. Yuck, I thought as I lifted up a pack of non-used condoms from the table. I scrunched up my nose and quickly threw them over my shoulder. I spotted a water bottle and dived for it. Happy with my find, I began walking back to the table only to be met with a hard chest.

I let out an oomph and stumbled backwards and then looked up, meeting eyes with a guy around my age or slightly older holding a pack of condoms in his hand. He had dimples on both cheeks, a mop of messy brown hair and friendly brown eyes, like something out of an Abercrombie and Fitch commercial. And I have to say I don't really like Abercrombie and Fitch because I don't agree with their policy 'skinny is beautiful.'

I mean, how delusional is that?

However, he looked like the only gentlemen around, with his clean jeans and long-sleeved white sweater and otherwise pristine appearance. He grinned at me, showing off his dimples and wriggled the pack of condoms around.

"Any reason you threw these at me?" He teased, laughing at my expression. Oh my god.

"I wasn't – I mean I - I didn't mean to throw them at you. They were on the table." I finally managed, pointing behind me. Yeah. Play it real cool, April.

"Ah, kids nowadays, huh?" He replied throwing the condoms into a bush behind him. "I'm Noah." He said sticking out his hand for me to shake. Since when did guys talk to me? Maybe something happened when Aiden kidnapped me. Or maybe it's because I'm at a party and you're supposed to socialize with people and I'm not really used to that.

I took his hand. "April." I muttered. "I have to go, my friend is waiting for me. Sorry." I said hastily walking backwards away from him as I did so. I heard him calling my name from behind me but I didn't turn around and carried on walking hurriedly to where Nina was. When I reached her she was fast asleep on the sofa. So much for the water.

I sighed and sat down besides her and placed the water bottle besides me on the ground, leaning back on the couch.

Unfortunately, my moment of peace was ruined by the sounds of shouting. There was a huddle of people and angry shouts being exchanged. Ah, a fight. You always get one of these at a party – well in movies you do anyway.

Curiosity got the best of me and I stood up and tried to tiptoe over the heads of the many people crowded around the commotion, but of course I couldn't see anything. Frustrated, I stood up on the sofa and craned my head to see what was going on because the shouting had intensified and it was really beginning to rile the crowd.

I saw Aiden and the gang as well as a pack of boys behind him on one side looking extremely pissed. Opposite him were roughly around 10 boys with big builds and tough-looking exteriors. The big one with a Mohawk and piercings everywhere - literally everywhere - was sneering at Aiden who was obviously the leader of the other group.

I caught a couple of words from their heated conversation: mate, pack, alpha, territory, death. I wasn't sure what many of these meant but I knew that whatever they were talking about sounded like major trouble. I felt a body next to me and turned around and nearly fell off the sofa. It was Noah. Did he follow me?

"Seeing the fight too, huh?" He sounded amused, but his expression said otherwise, as he clicked his neck and pricked his ear as though he could actually hear what was being said.

"Yeah." I replied awkwardly. We stayed silent after that for a while, straining our ears to hear more words from the conversation which had now turned into a quiet argument. "Do you know what this is about?"

"So now you want to talk to me?" He said teasingly, raising his eyebrows.

"I – no – I had to bring water to my friend, but then by the time I got here, she'd fallen asleep." I explained pointing to the passed out Nina at my feet. He nodded and chewed on his bottom lip as he watched the fight go on. His eyes flickered momentarily to Kayla and he paused, eyes softening. He still hadn't answered my question.

"Who is that?"

I looked at Kayla. "My friend."

"Name?"

"I'm sure you can ask her when she's awake." I replied coolly.

He made a little noise, his eyes riveted on my blonde-haired, drooling friend the entire time. I froze awkwardly, not quite sure what was happening. Noah then zoned out to the fight again, his neck craned outwards, ear orientated towards the crowd.

"Noah? Do you know what the fight's about?"

"No. I don't." He replied bluntly. "Come down from the sofa – the fights about nothing. They're probably arguing about their inflated egos or something." He said quickly stepping down from the sofa and pulling me down with him. "I have to go now. Take care April," he said emphasizing my name and casting a single glance at Kayla again.

"Bye," I muttered turning away from him as he sped away into the darkness of the forest. Why is he going there? There could be anything out there! I was about to call him back when I heard my name being shouted from behind me.

The fight was obviously over because when I turned around the crowd had broken off. I craned my neck trying to find the source of whoever was calling my name.

"April, over here!" I looked over and saw Emma waving at me frantically, beckoning for me to come towards her. I walked over to her and was about to ask her what was wrong when she grabbed my hand and dragged me through the patio doors. She didn't even speak. She just pulled me upstairs in the direction of my room roughly – I was getting freaked out by this sudden urgency.

What the hell?

I tried asking her what was going on but she cut me off. We reached my room and she yanked open the door and pushed me inside.

"Stay in here until someone comes up here." She said breathlessly looking side-to-side quickly before pushing me further inside the room and slamming the door shut. I heard the turn of a lock in the keyhole and ran to it. I yanked the door handle trying to get it to open but it was useless. I was locked in this room yet again.

I ran my hand through my hair and ran to my window. Without my glasses I could only see blurry images of people under the lights hung up on the trees. I could just about see the silhouette of several dark figures in a huddle. I saw Emma because of her fire engine red dress walking hurriedly to them.

I walked backwards away from the window and flopped onto my bed, only stopping to remove my shoes. My head hit the mattress and as soon as it did I heard the howl of a wolf deep in the forest. And if there were wolves in the woods, then that meant those woods were dangerous. Whatever happened tonight hurt my brain. The drunken pervert, Aiden saving me, meeting Noah and then Emma locking me in my room for no plausible reason.

Oh crap. Kayla and Nina are still out there. No, I think Beau knows they're there. He'll look after them. I know he will.

I buried my face into the blanket and tried to shut out the incessant howling of the wolves in the woods. And when I walked over to the window again to see if Aiden and the gang were still there, I was met with only the empty clearing, littered with red cups.
