A lot of people like Elijah apparently so here you go!

Elijah's POV -

"When will she wake up Wyatt?" Rome asks for the one millionth time now since Arya's collapsed.

Wyatt sighs but tries to hide it, however I'm not sure why he thought he could.

Rome's eyes flash with a dangerous expression and Wyatt clears his throat.

"Maybe a few hours."

"Maybe?" Rome repeats slowly and I can tell he's just getting more furious by the second.

"Yes, I'd say about 2-3 hours or so. I can't exactly pick a direct time, her body just went into shock. She will wake soon boss."

Rome sighs and runs a hand through his hair before nodding. We all watch in silence as the doc checks over Arya once more before leaving the room, shutting the door softly behind him.

Rome sits in the chair near the bed and holds her hand tightly in his. My eyes move from him to Arya as she lays unconscious on the sheets. Nothing else is heard besides her shallow breaths and small beeping of the monitor.

Breathing out through my nose, I move my gaze over to James whose staring worriedly at the girl and then to Grant who for some reason is still here.

Narrowing my eyes at him he must have either noticed or literally felt my stare because his eyes meet mine and he gives me a look of confusion.

Shaking my head, I straighten my shoulders and without a word, head for the door.

Striding to the kitchen I reach for the one thing I always do.

Alcohol.

Opening the fridge I grab a beer and pop it open, chugging about half of it.

Sitting at one of the island chairs I ponder in silence.

It's too quiet.

It's never quiet when she's around.

For some reason she picks up everyone's spirits.

Sometimes even mine.

With her constant smiles and questions to try and know me better.

Her need to try and become my friend.

Could I be her friend?

Swigging another chunk of beer, I place down the bottle harshly on the counter.

I notice the way she struggles with eating but tries to cover it up.

Rome obviously knows about it by the constant reassurance and soft looks he gives her.

He's completely different when around her. All his walls come down in an instant.

I wish it were that easy for me to feel.

It's been anything but easy, especially during my childhood.

Drugs.

Alcohol.

Beatings.

Punishments.

Scars.

Guns.

Murder.

That was all there when I was a kid. I was everything else besides happy.

I don't think I'll ever feel truly happy again.

Bottling up all my emotions is what I'm best at. So It's what I do.

My grey thoughts are cut off when I hear footsteps heading my way. I turn in my chair to see Grant walking towards me.

Raising a brow as he passes me and to the fridge, he grabs two beers and slides one across the table towards me, opening his own.

Saying nothing, I gratefully take it and swig it down.

"Poor kid, she looks so beat." Grant says after a minute and I grunt in response.

"Have you seen that Izzy girl after what happened?"

"No," I respond.

My fists tighten. What a bitch of a friend. I don't care if she got threatened by Ivan, if she knew about the mafia all along she could've told Arya about it and we could have helped.

Izzy could have pretended she didn't say a word to us. She's pretty good at pretending apparently.

"Sucks It's her birthday tomorrow." Grant continues and I scowl.

"What is your problem?" I ask and he coughs.

"Nothing! Just that she's had it rough according to what boss has told me."

Rolling my eyes, I take another sip of beer right as James makes his presence known.

"Call it a sixth sense, but I always knew that Izzy chick was no good." He says and my annoyance flares.

"Didn't you want to meet Izzy once Arya told her about us?" I ask.

"No..." He says more like a question and I sigh.

"Well there you go, you met her and apparently she already knew." Downing the rest of the beer I decide against going for a third.

"Princess always talked so highly about Izzy. It's not fair for her." James says sadly and I agree with that statement.

Growing tired of the depressing mood, I stand up and toss the beer bottles in the trash, turning to head for the gym.

"Where are you going?" James asks.

"Away from here."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rome's POV -

I've tried to keep all my emotions in check. I'm trying not to go straight to the room I've locked Izzy in and demanding answers.

I gave Izzy an actual bedroom believe it or not, however she can't leave because of the multiple guards surrounding her door.

If this were someone else I would have tossed them straight into the basement and got to the torturing already, but I can't do that.

Craning my neck upwards I sigh deeply and pinch the bridge of my nose.

Closing my eyes briefly, I focus on the constant beeping of the monitor and my baby's slow breaths.

Opening them, I trail my eyes over her exhausted form and lift the hand I'm holding, kissing her knuckles.

There was no sign of Ivan at Izzy's house and luckily her parents weren't home either. I've got a million questions but I'm trying to hold off for right now.

My men are scouting the areas near her house but most are waiting for if Ivan returns to her house before tomorrow.

Maybe he'll try and 'hide out' there before attacking.

I also sent out a search for Trevor. I don't even know if that kid is still alive after the threats I made towards him before. If he truly sent out those texts and got involved I'll kill him.

Since we know Ivan's motives there's extra security in the house. Obviously we're not going to stay here tomorrow.

Of fucking course this had to happen the day before her birthday. I had this huge plan that's now completely ruined.

Arya's best friend has betrayed her. I don't even want to think about how she'll react when she wakes up.

She freaked out so much she fucking passed out.

"I'm sorry, sweetheart." I whisper, hoping she can hear me but the odds are slim to none.

Footsteps have my ears perking up.

"Boss, It's been about two hours so I'd like to do a few small exams." Wyatt says cautiously and I nod, standing up and backing away a few steps.

My hard gaze stays on him and his actions as he runs a few tests to check her health.

Checking his clipboard he hums and turns to me.

"She's recovering quickly. She should be up in the next hour or so. Call me immediately once she wakes up." He says and I Inwardly sigh in relief.

Once he leaves the room I take my spot back on the chair and hold her hand once more.

My hands are itching to go upstairs and get answers from Izzy, but I want to wait and hear what Arya has to say about this situation.

So I stay put, resting my head on the hospital bed and holding my girl's hand in mine tenderly, praying for her to come back to me.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arya's POV -

I giggle as Rome cups my face in his hands, kissing my face all over and whispering sweet words to me.

It's been about 5 minutes since I've woken up and he won't take his hands off me. Not that I mind much.

"I'm okay, Rome." I say and he only presses a hard kiss to my head before slightly pulling away.

I can feel my anxiety pulling at my chest as one person comes to mind.

Izzy.

"Let me call Wyatt darling, okay?" Rome says and I give him a small 'yes.'

Running his hand through my hair he turns and with quick strides heads out the door to find the said man.

Interlacing my fingers together I try to keep my tears at bay. I can't believe this has really happened.

I can't believe Izzy.

But I know there's more things she has to say.

More explanations.

I'd get answers after I find out where she is. If she's even here. I'm sure she is since Rome couldn't have let her get far.

Me laying in this hospital bed is becoming a reoccurring thing. I'd rather have that stop.

"Arya, feeling better?" Wyatt asks and I shrug as he checks me over.

"You went into quite a shock. Do you have any pain in your head? Even something as small as a minor headache counts."

"Only a little bit." I reply and he nods, going over to one of the cabinets and opening it.

Rummaging through the bottles inside, he grabs one and opens it revealing some pills.

"Take these, they will cure it in no time." Wyatt says, dropping two in my palm while Rome gets me a glass of water.

"Thank you," I mumble, chucking the pills into my mouth and swallowing a few sips of the liquid.

Wiping my mouth, I sit back in the bed as Rome and Wyatt speak a few more words to each other.

"Are you hurting anywhere else from collapsing?" Wyatt asks.

"No, it was just my head."

"Alright," Looking over his clipboard he writes a few things before holding it to his side.

"Then you should be good to go. Luckily no major damage and if your head starts to hurt again tell Rome."

"Thank you, Wyatt." I give him the best smile I can get out and he gives me one in return.

"I hope you feel better." He leaves the room leaving Rome and I to talk.

I get straight to the point.

"Where's Izzy?"

He looks slightly taken aback but recovers quickly.

"She's up in one of the rooms."

"You gave her a room?" I ask with shock in my voice although I'm glad he didn't throw her into the cells he has.

"Sì, there's a few men watching over her door so she can't get out. I wanted to wait and see what you thought we should do."

"I want to talk to her." I tell him desperately.

I'm angry at her. I'm so angry but I need to hear what else she has to say.

"Okay but do you want to rest first? Even though you just woke up you look exhausted, sweetheart." Rome says, brushing his knuckles over my cheeks but I shake my head.

"No, no I want to talk to her now." Standing up I attempt to walk but my head spins a little.

Rome automatically steadies me and keeps his arms around my waist.

"Arya," He says and I can hear the pleading in his voice.

Groaning and resting my head against his chest, I give in knowing I am actually exhausted.

"Fine, one quick nap and then I'm speaking to her."

He hums and lifts me up. I wrap my arms around his neck and legs around his waist as he carries me to the stairs.

Pressing multiple kisses to my head and rubbing my back, my eyes droop without me even knowing it because of his soft touches.

"What time is it?" I murmur once he lays us both down on his bed.

"About 9."

I sit up a bit and look into his dark eyes.

"Let's go out somewhere tomorrow."

"I was going to take you out anyways for your birthday." I frown at his response. My birthday is the last thing on my mind.

I shake my head, "No I want to go out and bring Izzy so we can get answers from her. We don't need any huge arguments which is why we should go in public."

His eyes harden and I know he's about to protest.

"I want to get answers, Rome. I know you do too."

"Yes but It's your birthd-"

"I know." I reply, giving him a little smile. "But I want to get those answers tomorrow."

Sighing in defeat, he pulls me back into his chest.

"Fine, we will go first thing in the morning and stay out for the day."

"Why for the day?"

Instead of answering he presses his lips against mine. My eyes close and I press myself against him.

Pulling away he warmly looks down at me.

"Because I've got a few surprises for you."
