《His Shortcake》Chapter 35

"You're wasting your time." Stella as soon as Dustyn and Clarrisse was out of sight. Her clothes might not be worse than what Amelia wears, but it looks just as bad. I don't think anyone can rival that woman's sense of fashion... or the lack of it.

"And you're wasting mine." I said nonchalantly as I lay my head down on the arm of the chair.

Frankly, I'm tired. It's been a long week and I want nothing but to sleep so I can get a moment of peace. So I can be alone for a few hours. Yet here I am.

Just wanting to spend sometime with the man I love while we get something done from the list of things that we still haven't done. I was just asking for a few hours of peaceful bliss with him and I can't even have that with her here.

This woman who is showcasing her whole body to the world just to have a man that is getting married. Desperately dressing like that just to get his attention.

"He'll leave you for me, sooner or later." Stella says confidently. "It's only a matter of time before he does. I mean, who wants a kid?" She said, snickering at her own inside joke.

Yes, compare to her I must look just a kid. She's this gorgeous woman but she's pinning after the wrong man. My man. I might be a kid but I am not one to be intimidated by Dy's past girlfriends or fuck buddies.

I smile at her, my eyes travelling to Emil's watchful eyes. "You know, it doesn't do you any good to steal a man who really does not like you." I said, looking straight at her.

She raised her eyebrow at me, as if I said something entirely amusing to her. "That was not what he was saying when he was inside me." She said with a malicious smile on her lips. Her eyes glazed, as if she was remembering when they were doing it.

It sent shivers down my back. My skin is crawling just from the thought of it. The image she put in my head was not something I ever want to see or know. Just the thought of Dy with another woman is like a knife dived straight through my heart.

I know that Dy has been with other women. That he's not innocent as I would think. He's older than me. He went and experienced college like anyone would. I doubt there is anything he didn't do when he was a college student.

If I let her words get to me, it would mean that I didn't trust Dy.

But then again, I do trust him. I trust him when he said he loves me. I trust him when he said he's never going to be with anyone that isn't me. I just need to keep my trust with him no matter what the people around us might say.

"You know, it's a pity that you couldn't find another man to pin over aside my fiancé. He's my fiancé. Not yours or anyone else. Mine." I said, putting my ownership on Dy for the last time.

When Stella showed up with Clarrisse at Dy's office that day, I thought I could be civil with her. That since this is her job we're talking about, she would be more conscious of the things she does and says to me, her client. I didn't want her to lose her job just because she said a few things during that first meeting. But that does not seem to be the case.

It seems that the woman is hell bent on getting Dy for herself, which is never gonna happen.

"Dustyn will never again have sex or any kind of relationship with you. That is something I can promise you."

"Dear." She said mockingly. "You're naïve. Dustyn is a man with needs. Needs that you can't meet. I can meet his needs. Soon enough, he'll realize that and he'll go for me." She said confidently.

I could have let my jaw dropped at the idea that she has instilled in her head. It's crazy to think that such woman would have this idea that makes her believe that it will happen.

How crazy is that?

When I first met her, I knew she wasn't just any woman. She looked smart and sophisticated. Not some crazed woman going after a man who is clearly committed to another woman.

"You are definitely crazy." I said, crossing my arms on my chest and resting back on my chair. "I think you need to see a shrink. I have one, but I don't think she sees people like you."

Her eyes flared in anger. "People like me?" Her hands balled up into fists as she tries to keep her anger at bay. "What exactly do you mean by that?" She asked again.

I give her an innocently smile. One that pisses her off more. "I mean, she hates home wreckers. People exactly like you."

"Excuse me?" She asked surprised at the words coming out of my mouth.

She might've thought I was this kid she can push over because I might look so fragile in her eyes. I might be younger than her but my brother thought me to stand up for myself at all times. Doesn't matter what age the other person is, what matters is that I am in the right and I won't let myself be bullied by a woman like Stella.

A woman who doesn't know when to stop. She has stoop this low just to get what she wants. But that is something that is never going to happen while I am here. I get that she has feeling for Dy but that's not enough of a reason for her to go after me like this. She's bluntly disrespecting me despite the fact that I am her client. Someone who is paying her to do her job. A job that can get her name out in the industry that she chose but, no. She chooses to be my enemy despite the reality that is right in front of her.

"You're excused." I said with a smile. I make eye contact with Emil and he immediately came to my side, his defenses up as he assesses Stella. "Would you escort this woman outside? She needs to go." I said to him with a fake smile.

"Ma'am." Emil said respectfully to Stella, waiting for her to get up.

Her jaw dropped at the situation she's facing. "That is not going to happen."

Emil's face hardened at her blatant refusal to leave despite him asking nicely. "You leave on your own or I'll have to drag you out of this place."

"I have rights." She said, but I can hear a shake in her voice as she does.

"My client feels very threatened right now and that's because of you." Emil said, as he give me a look.

I put a hand on my chest. "Oh yes. I feel very very threatened. I'm so scared." I said with sarcasm. acting scared and fragile.

Stella glares harshly at me. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "How dare you."

I raised my eyebrow at me. Finding her next words amusing. Very amusing. "Me?" I asked with innocence. "I'm not the one wearing clothes that looks like two sizes smaller than what you are. Showing up at work with my breasts spilling out from my dress. The butt barely covered by your clothing choice. Wearing dark red lipstick and looking salaciously as my boyfriend and fiancé."

I watch as her face morphs in an unexplainable expression of embarrassment and shame. "So yes. How dare I."

She looks at me and then at Emil. Then without a word, she gets her things and rans out of the building without another word.

"Miss Mara." Emil said, an amused smile on his lips as he retreats away from the table.

I rest back on my chair and sighed in relief. "Peace at last."
